Chapter 951: Chapter 947: Eventually, We Must Part Ways

At least for now, the conclusion is that Sugai Yasuaki is quite a capable person and far more calculating than the average person, showing no obvious desire for women, and during the first meeting, he almost didn’t reveal any apparent weaknesses.

After a moment’s pause, Xiao Tian looked at the silent Xiang Yiting and Adison Claire by his side and asked, ”You both don’t seem to agree with me going, do you?”

Adison Claire pondered for a moment, then nodded forcefully, saying, ”Yes, I think that Sugai Yasuaki we just met seems quite like a smiling tiger, and don’t you think he was a bit overly enthusiastic?”

Xiang Yiting added, ”I think so too. Just think about it, giving an invitation on the first meeting—if it were an ordinary person, one might understand it as wanting to collect more gift money, but Sugai Yasuaki doesn’t seem like someone who lacks money, does he?”

”What you said is very good, keep going.” After hearing the statements from the two women, Xiao Tian interestingly suggested.

Adison Claire and Xiang Yiting exchanged a glance, both feeling the helplessness in each other’s eyes, and said in unison, ”What more is there to say? Aren’t the numerous oddities enough?”

One spoke in English and the other in Huaxia Language, which caused a brief moment of sluggishness in Xiao Tian as their words reached his ears, and he then replied, ”Anyway, let’s finish eating before making any plans. We’ll see how things go when the time comes, whether to go or not.”

...

Near evening, Xiao Tian sat comfortably in a hotel room, having already arranged matters regarding returning to Huaxia.

Simply put, they would depart by waterway, with Xiao Tian and Adison Claire mingling among cargo ships and switching to a regular passenger ship halfway through, making a smooth and barrier-free return to Huaxia.

At this time, Xiang Yiting and Adison Claire had just returned from buying clothes, and after a brief encounter, they each returned to their rooms, preparing for a good night’s rest.

Since Adison Claire had completely entrusted the matter of going to Huaxia to Xiao Tian, there was no urgency to tell her the news; it wouldn’t be too late to mention it the next morning.

However, with Xiang Yiting, Xiao Tian still felt it necessary to bid farewell, after all, it wouldn’t be right to leave without saying goodbye since they knew each other.

Thinking of this, Xiao Tian got up and walked toward the door, but just as he touched the doorknob, he heard a sudden knock on the door.

Xiao Tian was startled at once. Someone was outside, and he hadn’t sensed it?

However, he quickly realized it might be Xiang Yiting or Adison Claire. Both are not listed by him as dangerous people, so unless they harbored malice or made loud noises, it would be normal not to notice.

Opening the door, it was indeed Xiang Yiting standing outside.

She had changed into new clothes, no longer appearing awkwardly ill-fitting.

”Are you going out?” Xiang Yiting didn’t expect Xiao Tian to open the door so quickly and couldn’t help but ask.

Xiao Tian smiled and stepped aside, saying, ”I was just about to find you to talk about something, didn’t expect you to come over first. Perfect, come in.”

Xiang Yiting nodded and stepped into Xiao Tian’s room. After sitting down, she asked, ”You said you wanted to talk to me about something, what is it?”

”You go first. I see you knocking on the door, you must have something to say, right?” As he spoke, Xiao Tian placed a cup of hot water in front of Xiang Yiting.

”Alright.” Xiang Yiting shifted the cup closer to herself, saying, ”The school called just now, asking me to return for something, so I need to head back to school tomorrow.”

Xiao Tian nodded, ”I see, then you should take care of your own business first. Do you need a ride to the school?”

”No need!” Xiang Yiting waved her hand and said, ”By the way, didn’t you say you had something to talk to me about?”

”Actually, it’s nothing major. I just wanted to let you know that I’m planning to go back to Huaxia the morning after tomorrow.” Xiao Tian said, ”Just saying goodbye, that’s all.”

”You’re leaving?!”

Xiang Yiting instinctively stood up suddenly, looking at Xiao Tian in disbelief.

Unexpectedly seeing such an intense reaction from Xiang Yiting, Xiao Tian showed an amused expression and said, ”I’m not a student studying abroad, I can’t stay here indefinitely. Besides, the visa is about to expire; I’d have to leave sooner or later.”

Of course, this was nonsense. Xiao Tian never planned to leave through official channels, so how could he care if the visa was expiring? He just wasn’t convenient to explain certain things honestly!

After a while, Xiang Yiting came to her senses, and realizing she had overreacted, her face flushed red like a boiled lobster as she forced a smile, saying, ”Well, then I wish you a safe journey.”

Without waiting for Xiao Tian to reply, she asked again, ”When will you come next? Uhm... I mean, I’d like to treat you to a meal then.”

”Unless there’s something important, I probably won’t be coming back.” Xiao Tian replied truthfully.

”Oh, I see...” Xiang Yiting murmured.

...

After hearing Xiao Tian’s answer, Xiang Yiting’s eyes showed a noticeable complexity, and she seemed lost, only coming to her senses once she found herself back in her room.

Glancing at the bedside clock, it was already past one in the morning, a realization that made her jump up immediately.

She distinctly remembered being in Xiao Tian’s room, so how did she end up in her own room? And how had so much time passed in between?

Where did the time in between go? And why couldn’t she recall anything?

What did she say or do?

Even if she couldn’t remember the specific details, how could she not recall even a rough idea?

All at once, a multitude of questions and speculations surged into Xiang Yiting’s mind, leaving her with a pounding headache, and she couldn’t help but clutch her head, curling up on the bed.

Xiang Yiting knew this wasn’t a solution and that she had to calm herself, to drive away the unnecessary speculations from her mind and seriously recall what had happened during this time.

However, despite racking her brains, she could only remember Xiao Tian saying goodbye and mentioning that he wouldn’t return unless something required it.

As her thoughts reached this point, Xiang Yiting felt a wave of sadness, as if she lost something important, an indescribable sense of sorrow and loss.

In fact, she always knew that the person who saved her that night was Xiao Tian, and it was in such an embarrassing circumstance.

And ever since then, Xiang Yiting felt as if she had been reborn, renewing herself inside and out.

All of this she owed to Xiao Tian, the person who gave her a second life.

Ironically, she still didn’t know his real appearance, couldn’t even confirm if his name was real.

The more she thought, the more uncomfortable she felt inside, and tears began to fall from her eyes, soaking the bedsheet quickly.

...

After a long while, Xiang Yiting took a deep breath, wiped away her tears as she sat up, and a look of determination appeared in her eyes. She then walked toward the door, her steps slow but every step was firm and resonant...
