Venerated Venomous Consort

“Yes.”

“Do you have a name?”

Dumbstruck, the pink candle dragon scratched its head. “I think I do. What is it, again?”

Di Hao waited patiently for it to recall its name.

But as he waited, he noticed that the scales on the candle dragon’s head were about to be scratched off! “I think my name is Little Pink!” It finally remembered.

The simple form of its name reminded Di Hao of his mother’s naming habit.

Could the candle dragon be one of his mother’s pets?

From the images of his Tracing Spell, his mother once said that every God of Creation would carry a candle dragon as his or her pet. She used to have one, but it died during her sleep.

Perhaps the candle dragon survived, after all, and got stranded in the desert.

However, if it used to be his mother’s pet, it should be able to recognize the lady in white. Its confusion clearly showed that it did not know her at all.

At that point, many questions in Di Hao’s head remained unanswered.

Di Hao took the time to have a rest beneath the ground. When they resurfaced, the lady was no longer there, and the temperature in the desert rose to an unbearable scale once again.

His spiritual power had partly recovered, so he quickly worked on the wizardry barrier so that they could break free.

For the past eight days, he had been remarkably persevering, but not a clue had been found about how to break out of the place.

He had even tried to go underground! Along with the candle dragon, they traveled for thousands of miles beneath the ground, but to their utter disappointment, they still resurfaced to a vast plain land full of sand.

Every way that he thought possible turned out to be useless. It seemed that there was truly no escape from the desert.

Half a month flew by, and Di Hao became dispirited.

There was no water and no food in the desert. Even though his soul could survive without any food, he could not take the heat with the sun beating down on him.

Eventually, his powerful soul slowly wasted away under the scorching sun while the heat had caused him a number of repercussions.

Fatigued, he now felt suffocated when they were traveling underground. All he could feel was his head spinning as the pressure became unbearable to him in merely a few minutes. However, he would rise to the ground, only to feel like leaving again.

The candle dragon noticed that his condition was deteriorating and was concerned. “Brother Di, are you going to die? I tried to save a god before, but he did not last beyond 20 days and was immortalized. His soul did not survive.”

“Shut up!” Di Hao snapped.

As the master of the heavenly law, it would be a shame for him to die in a place like this.

However, there was no way he could escape, and time was only making him weaker and reducing his chances.

The desert was like a monster that devoured any living being that was trapped within it, and it did not seem to give them any chance of escaping.

The candle dragon often felt dispirited by the loneliness, but somehow the heat never affected its strength.

Perhaps, it was the only species that could survive in the barren land. Everything else would slowly perish.

Regrettably, no help was coming for it, and there was no way it could make it out alone.

It looked at the sun by the edge of the sky with deep regret.

It would not have negotiated with Fan Qianshi’s candle dragon if Di Hao was going to be stranded here and die.

His soul had been away long enough, and his parents must surely be very worried for him.

Di Hao could only hope that they were facing the changes well. After all, he had already prepared them for the day that he would mysteriously disappear.

Maybe they thought that his soul had already returned to where he belonged.

Perhaps, they would not even go looking for him and let his little body rot away in the absence of a soul.
