Venerated Venomous Consort

“In a desert, where the vast land of sand was stretched over thousands of miles. It appeared right there, in the middle of the golden sand. I have never seen such a beautiful candle dragon in my life! It felt like a dream,” the candle dragon recalled its beautiful encounter like reciting a poem.

Meanwhile, Fan Qianshi was getting more impatient. “Which desert?”

“About that, I did not pay much attention to my location.”

That reply was the last straw for Fan Qianshi.

He could no longer hold back his frustration and decided to vent his anger on the candle dragon.

The candle dragon was undoubtedly guilty of its foolish behavior, but the more it listened to Fan Qianshi’s criticism, the more frustrated it became as well. “That is enough! When will you ever stop? Like I told you, the method may or may not work. If you think I am useless, I will leave right now!” It then walked away in a fury.

Fan Qianshi said nothing more.

The candle dragon was so challenging to handle. Quietly, he sat down and stared blankly at the starry sky in contemplation.

At that time, the candle dragon had retreated into a corner. Quietly, it looked at its master who sat in solitary like a jade statue, as if the entire world had just abandoned him. The sight made the candle dragon feel a bit pitiful for the man. Therefore, it decided to talk to him. “I do not quite understand why you insist on making them your enemies. Can’t you live in peace with one another? Over the past few days, you have not troubled them in any way, and they did not trouble you either.”

Fan Qianshi did not even look back at the candle dragon as he replied, “You’re so naive! They have not found their way to me because they are not as powerful as me. Once they have gathered enough strength, or once Di Fuyi has become the master of heavenly law, they will surely get in my way. I would rather get rid of them while they are still weak than deal with them later when they have regained their power,” he scornfully said.

“What about Gu Xijiu? Are you planning on killing her too?” The candle dragon asked.

Fan Qianshi kept staring at the stars. He replied, “I will kill anyone who is in my way, including her.”

The candle dragon did not take his words very seriously, however. “You had so many chances to kill her before. Why didn’t you do it?”

“Those were not the right time.” Fan Qianshi icily said.

After pondering over the many opportunities that he had, the candle dragon slowly added, “Although I do not know where the desert is, it does not mean I cannot find it.”

“How can you find it? How long do you need?” Fan Qianshi grabbed its little lantern anxiously.

“Don’t you get too excited. The desert is not in this particular region. I need to find it with the help of some spells. It might take me about half a month.”

Fan Qianshi was not very impressed by the response. “That’s such a long time!”

“It is not that long, master. You should know that there are millions of continents out there. It will be more difficult than finding a needle in the deep sea!”

Before it finished speaking, Fan Qianshi was already rushing it. “What are you waiting for? Start finding it now.”

…

It was a vast, desolate land of sand, where the scorching sun was merciless.

It was the time of the day where the sun was the brightest. The sand was burning hot under the heat, and there was nowhere to look for shelter.

Di Hao was hiding in a hole with a camel bone on top of his head as a temporary shelter. With his teeth gritted, he asked the fatty that was squatting next to him, “The sun has been there for five days and five nights straight! When will it ever set? This does not make any sense.”

The fatty next to him was a pink and chubby dragon. It had a pair of big round eyes decorated with pretty lashes and distinctive double eyelids. On top of its head, there was a pink lantern that swayed with its every movement.

Di Hao recognized it as a candle dragon, though it looked a little mutated. It was chubbier and shorter than a regular candle dragon.
