Venerated Venomous Consort

He then took a look at the pile of plates on Gu Xijiu’s side of the table.

Gu Xijiu was very casual and unconcerned about the table manners here in the restaurant. She did not mind how the waiter placed the dishes on her table. All she did was eat. A synonym for casual and unconcerned would be messy.

Gu Xijiu wanted to take a few bites on the steamed fish, but before her chopsticks reached the meat, the whole dish was already moving away from her. Instead, a dish of spicy fried pork slices replaced it, and her chopsticks went right in.

She was stunned as she looked up and saw the dishes on her side of the table magically arranged neatly into two lines. “What are you trying to do?” She looked at the young man and was unimpressed.

“I cannot stand the mess. Please do not mind me; it is an old habit of mine.” The young man continued to enjoy his meal.

Gu Xijiu said nothing more. There were all kinds of people in the world, many with weird behaviors and bad tempers. As the creator of the universe, she should not mind it and take this as a chance to show her generosity. Therefore, she continued to enjoy her food without any remarks.

Gu Xijiu liked all kinds of food with shells, like prawns and crabs. However, instead of using utensils, she preferred to eat shellfish with her hands. She thought that it was a very mundane way of savoring food, which was something she enjoyed. She cared about cleanliness as well, so all the shells were placed on a plate instead of on the table.

She thought that it was already neat enough, but to her surprise, the young man remained unimpressed. He took a look at the plateful of shells and decided to do something about it. With a wave, he cast another spell and placed all the shells on the plate neatly according to their sizes. The mess of shells was beautifully arranged into intricate patterns of a flower.

Gu Xijiu had to put a large shell down on the table but was caught in a dilemma. The shell would simply ruin the patterns that were already arranged on the plate. Troubled, she was beginning to feel annoyed with the man who was sharing her table.

It had reached a point where she could not even fully enjoy her food. After all, she was here to eat, not to make decorations. It was tiring to share a table with someone with such an obsessive and compulsive behavior.

Gu Xijiu tried to suppress her irritation but could not. She decided to throw the shell onto the plate and turned the shells on the plate into a mess.

The young man threw a sharp look at her, and she did not hesitate to do the same back to him. Their eyes lingered on one another’s face for a while before the young man finally spoke, “In order to return your favor for sharing the table with me, I shall remove the shells for you. Is that all right?” The young man gently offered with a tender smile.

Gu Xijiu thought about his offer for a second and agreed, “Great; please do.”

The young man cast another spell from his fingertips, making every shellfish on every dish move. All the shells of the prawns and crabs were removed and placed neatly on another plate. As usual, these shells were arranged in a proper pattern. The meat that remained on her plate was nicely shelled with very little fuss.

Gu Xijiu was suddenly drawn to his obsessive and compulsive manner. He could perfectly fit into the department of justice. The six worlds lacked a set of laws to govern the course of life. They also lacked a leader. The man could be a great leader in framing a constitution.

Certainly, it was just a sudden inspiration. She was not very keen on making it happen. However, the law could not be simply made and governed by anyone. The role must be played by a divine being that was brought about naturally by the essence of heaven and earth. Only then would it take its effect.

Gu Xijiu studied the man and realized that he was only a Mighty Immortal. As far as she was concerned, Fan Qianshi was the only man who was formed and nurtured by the essence of heaven and earth.
