Possessive & Addicted: The CEO Could Never Let Her Go

Chapter 492: Chapter 492: Thank Goodness You’re Here

Although it can only extinguish a tiny bit for a short time, it’s better than nothing.

Lie Huo and another bodyguard charged all the way in, facing peril at every turn.

”Mr. Gu, the hotel’s fire-fighting equipment is useless, there’s no water at all. The brothers went to the top floor to get water from the water storage tank to wet the cotton batting,” Lie Huo quickly said, ”Mr. Gu, let Madam leave first.”

During this time, he also understood how important Mu Anhan was to Gu Xiaozhan, which was why he suggested that she leave first.

”Lie Huo, you first take Yao Yao and Yu Er out!” Mu Anhan immediately said, ”I want to stay, and leave with Xiao Zhan.”

Gu Xiaozhan turned his head to look at her, and in the dark, when the firelight illuminated her, her gaze was resolute beyond measure.

Gu Yao immediately said, ”We want to be with Daddy and Mommy.”

”I want Daddy to hold me...” Gu Yu started crying.

Lie Huo handed the wet cotton batting to Gu Xiaozhan: ”Mr. Gu, you take Miss Gu out first.”

Gu Xiaozhan picked Gu Yu up, kissed her cheek, and handed her to Lie Huo, ”Take her out first!”

He had another bodyguard take Gu Yao away, and Mu Anhan comforted their son, ”Daddy and Mommy will be out soon. You and your sister wait for us outside.”

”Daddy...”

”Mommy...”

The children’s cries continued, each one tugging at the adults’ hearts.

When Lie Huo and the others carried the children through the blazing flames, Mu Anhan clung tightly to Gu Xiaozhan’s waist, ”Husband...”

”We’ll be okay.” Gu Xiaozhan embraced her.

Having once experienced a separation of life and death, Mu Anhan let her tears fall once again on Gu Xiaozhan’s chest.

Last time, she died all alone.

This time, she was by Gu Xiaozhan’s side.

...

The flames from the door surged inward continuously.

Thick smoke kept flooding into the room.

Zhang Shishi woke up and quickly covered her mouth and nose with a towel.

The first thing she thought of was to call Mu Shaochen, but she found that her phone had no signal.

This was the first man she had ever loved in her life. He lived right next door to her. She didn’t know whether he lived or died today, and perhaps she’d never see him again.

She didn’t know why he suggested breaking up at that time, but during their relationship, the sweetness they experienced was genuine.

Suddenly, someone was knocking on her balcony window.

”Shi Shi... Shi Shi...”

She rushed from the bed and saw that Mu Shaochen had a rope tied around him, climbing from his balcony to hers.

”At such a high floor, if you fell...” Zhang Shishi couldn’t finish, ”How could you take such a risk?”

She opened the window to find him right in front of her.

Mu Shaochen jumped in and immediately pulled her into his arms, ”I was worried about you. The fire at the door is severe, and I thought it would be safer to come over from the balcony since we’re so close.”

Zhang Shishi burst into tears, crying uncontrollably, trembling in his arms like a leaf.

”Okay, save your tears. Go wet a quilt, and we can escape together.” Mu Shaochen joked.

But Zhang Shishi couldn’t laugh, she looked up at him, all the things she wanted to say just moments ago had vanished from her mind.

He tried to loosen her grip, but she only held him tighter.

”I’ll check the door. If we can’t get out, we’ll climb down the rope.” Mu Shaochen reassured her.

Zhang Shishi blushed with embarrassment, ”The rope surely won’t be long enough...”
