My Youth Began With Him

Mrs. Su sighed; it seemed like her son was going to sink into depression again.

The second table went crazy when Qin Chu walked up. Gao Ran stood up, trying hard to suppress the excitement in his head. He really wanted to shout out Qin Chu’s name in front of everyone here. He exclaimed, almost not knowing how to articulate his words, “Oh god, it really is him! My bro’s finally home safe…”

“It really is… Mr. Qin… he’s really back,” Zhu Lingling muttered to herself as she sat unmoving on her chair.

Jiang Xiaowei’s expression filled with relief. “Mian didn’t wait for nothing…” The truth was, she was happy for Huo Mian. Although she felt bad for Su Yu, Jiang Xiaowei also knew that Huo Mian’s life over the last four years wasn’t good at all – she was just good at pretending. For the last few years, Huo Mian lived only for her daughters; she was like a living corpse without Qin Chu.

No one knew how sad she was under her mask, and no one knew that she was no more than an empty casket of a woman.

“President Qin’s really back, Mian can finally be happy again…” Ni Yang smiled.

Qin Chu and Huo Mian walked past the long red carpet, right up to the middle of the stage. The twins, who hadn’t finished their song yet, were equally shocked by what they saw.

“Sis, is that person… our daddy?” Little Bean asked.

“Uh… I think he is, he looks just like us… Oh, wait, that’s not right. We look just like him…”

Was this a birthday surprise? Why else would their mommy show up with their daddy, on their birthday?

“Pudding, Little Bean, this is Daddy.” Huo Mian walked up to the twins and led them to Qin Chu.

“Wow! Daddy, you’re so handsome, much more so than your photos!” Little Bean, the ass-kisser of the family, immediately rushed up to Qin Chu and hugged his leg.

Qin Chu felt his heart melting as he looked at the cute toddlers in front of him. Then, he picked Little Bean up, gently kissing her on the cheek.

“Pudding, you too,” Huo Mian reminded. To her surprise, however, Pudding calmly looked at Huo Mian and asked, with no apparent expression on her face, “Mommy, now that daddy’s back, what’s going to happen to Handsome Su?”

Pudding’s question left Huo Mian speechless; she glanced down at table two and noticed that Su Yu wasn’t there anymore. Did he already found out that Qin Chu was back?

After Qin Chu kissed Little Bean, he gently set her down and smiled at Pudding. “Come here, let Daddy hug you.”

He heard that his older daughter was smart and prideful, while his younger daughter was a cute foodie. They were both unique in their own ways… He had countless albums of them and Huo Mian in his bedroom while he lived in the States.

Pudding, a little shy, slowly walked up to Qin Chu as she stared into his eyes. Her movements still exuded a little hint of arrogance.

When she neared him, Qin Chu picked her up. “The song you guys sang just now was really good, you’re a good singer, Pudding.”

“What about me, Daddy?” Little Bean looked up and asked, unwilling to settle.

“You were great too, you both were.”

“Of course we were, we’re the daughters of Qin Chu and Huo Mian,” Pudding said proudly.

After a few more kisses, Qin Chu unwillingly put Pudding down.

By this time, the crowd had gone completely wild… Huo Mian took the microphone Bella handed her and gently opened her mouth, “Allow me to introduce to you all the person standing beside me.”

Almost immediately, the room became completely silent.

“This is my husband, Qin Chu,” Huo Mian placed her hand around Qin Chu’s arm and announced to the world.

As soon as she said this, the crowd broke into thunderous applause.

Not far from them, in an undetectable corner, the wine glass in Huo Siqian’s hand broke into a million pieces, fresh blood spewing out of the wound…
