My Youth Began With Him

“Mian, I…” Qin Chu wanted to convince Huo Mian.

But, she interrupted him, “I have an idea.”

“What idea?” Gao Ran leaned over curiously. He knew that Huo Mian was a quick-thinker.

“He Yongjun wants to play with landmines, doesn’t he? In that case, we can fight fire with fire,” said Huo Mian.

Platoon Leader Zhang didn’t get what she meant. Gao Ran was a little clueless as well.

It was Qin Chu that understood right away. “Mian, you want to use explosives?”

“Yes.” Huo Mian nodded.

“But we didn’t bring any along. Also, according to the protocol we’re not allowed to bring along any explosives. If we go back to the army bureau and apply for some, it will take a long time to get approval from the higher-ups. In the end, it’ll still be a big delay.” Platoon Leader Zhang didn’t think Huo Mian’s idea would work.

“There’s no need, we can make them ourselves,” Huo Mian said matter-of-factly.

“What?” Platoon Leader Zhang’s mouth dropped open.

“I said, we can make our own right here on the spot,” Huo Mian repeated herself.

“Oh my god… your wife wants to do the impossible…” Gao Ran glanced at Qin Chu.

Qin Chu had a proud expression on his face. Placing his hand on his wife’s shoulder, he said, “My wife is a genius.”

“Uh-huh, if that’s what you think, I’m sure no one will argue with you.” Gao Ran nodded in agreement.

“Is… is this reliable?” Platoon Leader Zhang didn’t know much about Huo Mian. He just knew that she was the mother of the two children that had been kidnapped and that she was Director Gao’s friend.

How could it be that this incredibly fragile-looking woman could do something so dangerous?

“Make no mistake, she is a hospital chief of medicine and a medical school prodigy.”

Gao Ran thought that even if Huo Mian had said that she could create an atomic bomb, he wouldn’t have batted an eye.

Huo Mian and Qin Chu were the same in that they would never brag, and they would never say they could do something if they couldn’t deliver on it.

If she says she could do it, then she most definitely could. This was one way in which most women couldn’t compare.

“But… but the surface area of the mountains is huge. It won’t be enough if we only have a small number of explosives.” Platoon Leader Zhang glanced over at the topographic analysis of the mountainous area.

“No worries, I can make as many explosives as you guys need.” Huo Mian was extremely confident.

“Uh…” This time, it was Platoon Leader Zhang who was at a loss for words.

“Mian, are you planning to use gas canisters and beer bottles?” Qin Chu was also a medical school graduate, so he could infer what his wife was thinking.

“Yes.” Huo Mian nodded.

“I had thought of this as well, but gas canisters and beer bottles have limited force. I’m worried that it won’t be enough to intimidate He Yongjun.” Qin Chu was also a little skeptical.

So he thought it might be better to disable the landmines. According to their estimates, He Yongjun had a limited amount of explosives.

However, Huo Mian would not allow Qin Chu to take the risk. She preferred to start making a large number of explosives. Just as Qin Chu said, she used a lot of gasoline from the car. Gasoline was a very flammable and explosive liquid. Put into a glass bottle, it would become a very simple explosive.

As soon as the lighter was lit, one click and boom.

Using a little armed police handiwork, Huo Mian and Qin Chu finished very quickly.

Carrying the explosives, everyone went into the mountains and recommenced the search for He Yongjun and Shen Jiani’s hideout.

At this time, Huo Mian turned around and pulled a small white bag out of her purse.

“Huo Mian, what is that for?” Gao Ran turned around and looked curiously.

“It’s a little present for the two bastards that kidnapped my daughters,” Huo Mian said indifferently.

With this, Huo Mian skillfully poured the white powder into a glass bottle and mixed it with the gasoline.
