Epic Of Caterpillar

Chapter 2528 Astra

-----

Fate glanced through her Webs of Fate, at the battlefield, she felt relieved the monstrously strong robot was taken care of right away, abducted by the dream plane clouds.

”Are you sure it will not return?” Genesis asked. ”That machine was stronger than anything we ever thought these humans could achieve! Iʼve even begun to regret what I did… if it wasnʼt for me, a group of humans this powerful would have never been born.”

”Donʼt worry, Genesis… And I know you were desperate,” Fate said. ”Your parents neglected you, and you were alone drifting through the cosmos, unable to even regain your powers on your own. You ended up parasitizing the first world big enough for you to grow. This was also Fate, if you hadnʼt done this, none of us present wouldʼve been born.”

”T-Thatʼs right…” The Supreme Goddess of Souls and Reincarnation said. ”I know you regret many things Lady Genesis, but please donʼt say such things.”

”It was predestined, it would have never happened otherwise, Genesis,” the Supreme God of Time said. ”Iʼve already seen it.”

”Hah… You three are hopeless, everyone else in this world hates me,” Genesis laughed. ”Yet you three… remain loyal to me for some reason. Even though I have never been a good ruler, let alone a good goddess myself… If anything, Iʼve only been a failure.”

”Our loyalty will not waver even if you say such things, you know?” Smiled the Supreme Goddess of Fate. ”We simply choose the winning team.”

”Yeah!” the Supreme Goddess of Souls and Reincarnation said. ”And… my Master and adoptive father said that you would take care of me, and you did. I am truly grateful.”

Among the many Supreme Gods, aside from Kireina, the Supreme Goddess of Souls and Reincarnation was the youngest, a child raised by the Supreme Spirit of Souls long ago as an orphan.

He raised her as his disciple and the inheritor of his legacy, so nobody else would ever steal it from him, he willingly gave away his powers and life at one point, before the Ragnarök War started.

To her, it was a sad and perhaps even traumatic moment…

She could still recall it even now.

”Why are you doing this father?! Why! Donʼt die! Donʼt leave me!”

”Astra… Iʼve taught you everything I know…”

”Wait! W-What are you talking about?”

Astra back then, was just a teenager, her long golden locks, her crybaby blue eyes, and her small, slender body looked incredibly frail.

And yet, within this frail and weak girl, the Supreme Spirit of Souls saw the ideal person to carry the torch.

”The power I hold is… too dangerous,” he muttered in his deathbed. ”I must never let anybody else carry it other than you… You, who cries for every living being that dies, who pities even the smallest of insects, you, with the gentlest of hearts, and with the kindest of souls… youʼre the only one that must carry my legacy, my dear daughter.”

”B-But I donʼt even have Talent for Magic…” She muttered. ”All I can do is thanks to the artifacts that-”

”That is fine too,” He smiled, caressing her little face. ”I never sought someone talented, nor someone powerful… Youʼre more unique than you could ever expect, Astra. Your kind heart, your pure soul, you are the rarest diamond in a world full of darkness and malice.”

”But you donʼt have to do this!” Astra kept crying. ”Papaaaaa!”

”My crybaby daughter… Thatʼs enough,” the spirit muttered, shedding a tear. ”Or youʼll make me cry as well…”

As the two faced one another, he began to rapidly disappear, and his essence was infused into her body and soul.

FLUOSH!

She felt connected to the world like never before, the souls of everyone, she could see them everywhere.

”From now on… you will carry my legacy. One day, you will be known as the Supreme Goddess of Souls and Reincarnation, Astra… Once the War that is coming is over, go to her, my mother. Genesis will treat you well.”

”Itʼs nothing like that… Do you truly believe I develop the same feelings that you humans did at some point?” Asked Genesis, making Astra quickly wake up from her dizzy state, she has been working so much she hasnʼt slept for months. ”I am an alien, a being much different than you!”

”I-Is that so..?” Astra smiled lightly, remembering the first moment she met Genesis. ”I wouldnʼt say the same, lady Genesis! Youʼre a good person too. even if everyone else hates you… I love you as a mother!”

”Y-You stupid girl… T-Thatʼs enough I say!” Genesis grew embarrassed, covering her face with her feathered wings. ”Anyway! F-Fate! Is Tsukuyomi not done yet?”

”Heʼs arriving… So far, he hasnʼt lost a single god too,” Fate smiled, her eight eyes shining like blue stars. ”And heʼs coming with the whole cavalry. Weʼve successfully managed to gather all the invaders of Skyfall and have managed to take down several powerhouses within their armies. It seems the plan, despite all the sacrifices, worked.”

”Donʼt call it a victory yet…” Genesis said. ”We must see it till the end… Astra, girl, how is Zagreus and the rest? You said you could feel many souls with the boy?”

”Y-Yes! It seems that the young son of Hades has awakened a power never seen before!” the Supreme Goddess said. ”He seems to have an authority similar to mine!”

”What?!” Genesis asked in disbelief. ”H-How is that… possible!”

”Itʼs not completely like mine though,” Astra said. ”He can only control, call, and bring to his aid the souls within his fatherʼs Realm, Tartarus.”

”Oh…” Genesis muttered. ”Even then, isnʼt that Realm immense?”

”Yes… it has billions of souls!” Astra nodded. ”His power, however, is not refined, he needs to learn a lot before being able to use it properly…”

”Hm…”

Genesis remained in silence, for a moment.

”Good! Might as well put you to do some work, my lazy supreme goddess. Once that brat is back, youʼre going to start teaching him how to use his powers, alright?”

”E-EH?! ME?!”
