Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1465: Steam, Skin, and Self-Doubt ( 1465 )

That Night.

Vurghen Last Town.

Javier’s Portable Building.

Gracelle stood inside the shower, the warm water cascading down her body, steam rising around her. She smiled softly, her heart racing with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. Her hands moved slowly, cupping her breasts, feeling their weight and softness as she studied her reflection in the long mirror.

I can’t wait for tonight.

Tehe~

Finally~ The time has come.

Tonight, I’ll become truly his. I won’t be just his fiancée anymore, not just a girl waiting on the sidelines. I’ll be like Big Sister Liana, Big Sister Gloria... I’ll be his wife in every way.

She turned slightly, examining her body from different angles. Her skin was smooth and pale, still carrying the faint traces of her past illness, but now healthy and glowing. Her breasts were full and firm, not as large as Liana’s or Gloria’s, but they were soft and perfectly shaped. Her waist was slender, her hips gently curved, her legs long and toned from the training she had undergone.

She bit her lower lip, a flicker of doubt crossing her eyes.

Is my body good enough for him?

I was so sick before... I was so weak and frail.

What if he doesn’t find me attractive?

What if he compares me to Big Sis Liana or Gloria?

She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart.

No... I can’t think like that.

Big Sis Liana said I was ready.

She said Javier-sama has been waiting for me.

I just need to trust him. Trust myself.

She closed her eyes, letting the warm water wash over her face, feeling the heat seep into her skin.

Well... there’s no need for me to overthink this. I’ve waited so long, dreamed so much. I just need to be myself, be honest with my feelings. He chose me, didn’t he? He accepted me, even when I was weak.

She let out a breathy hum, a soft, happy sound as she finished cleaning her body. A gentle smile played on her lips as she tilted her head, biting one finger thoughtfully.

I wonder what Big Sis Liana said about how I should prepare...

And Big Sis Gloria said something about... trying my best to hold on? What did she mean by that...?

Gracelle tilted her head up, one finger resting on her chin, her lips pursed in thought.

She mentioned something about... bigger than her wrist...

But what does that even mean?

And every time I try to ask them, all they say is, ”You’ll know about it soon.”

Even Mimi, who’s always cheeky and playing around, won’t tell me either. She just giggles and says, ”You’ll find out tonight, nya~” with that mischievous grin of hers.

Gracelle let out a soft, frustrated sigh, tapping the mana rune on the wall to turn off the hot shower. She reached for her towel, wiping her body slowly, letting the soft fabric glide over her skin before draping it over the rack. She took another dry towel, wrapping it around her body, tucking it securely just above her breasts, the fabric hugging her curves gently. She padded over to the mirror, wiping the steam away with her palm, staring at her reflection.

Bigger than Liana’s wrist...

She shook her head, trying to push the thought away, but her mind kept drifting back to the knowing smiles of Liana and Gloria, the teasing glint in Mimi’s eyes, and the way Delya would just giggle dreamily, and Felicia’s soft chuckle whenever the topic came up.

She adjusted the towel wrapped around her hair, tucking a few loose strands behind her ear before glancing at the mirror again. She let out a long exhale and smiled.

There’s no use thinking about it now~

I’m sure Javier-sama is already waiting at the bed.

Her heart raced with excitement, a warm flutter spreading through her chest.

Big Sis Liana said before, ”Just let Javier-sama lead. Follow his pace, trust him, and let yourself feel everything. Don’t hold back.”

Alright~

Gracelle patted her cheeks with both hands, inhaling deeply before letting out a long, calming exhale. She reached for the door knob, her fingers curling around the cool metal, and smiled.

Time to go to him.

After heading out from the shower, Gracelle walked toward the bedroom, the soft towel wrapped around her body swaying gently with each step. She pushed the door open and stepped inside, her eyes immediately finding Javier.

He was sitting at the table near the window, reviewing a stack of documents, a notebook open beside him. He wore only a pair of comfortable shorts, his bare back and shoulders exposed. The soft light from the mana lamp cast gentle shadows across the defined muscles of his back and arms. His expression was serious, focused, his brows slightly furrowed as he read, his fingers occasionally tapping the page.

Ah~ Javier-sama...

So handsome...

Gracelle felt a flutter in her chest, a mix of shyness and admiration. She walked toward the table, her bare feet silent on the floor, and stopped nearby.

”J... Javier-sama... I finished my shower...”

Javier nodded without looking up, his eyes still scanning the document. ”Okay.”

Gracelle blinked, her eyes widening slightly.

Eh?

Her heart gave a small, uncertain flutter.

Is he... not interested?

Did I do something wrong?

She shook her head softly, pushing the doubt away, and smiled again. She moved behind him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders from behind, pressing her soft breasts against his warm back. She leaned her cheek against his shoulder, her voice a soft, affectionate mumble.

”I’m a little sleepy...” she whispered, her breath warm against his skin. ”Should I... wear something to sleep? Or... should I just stay like this...?”

Javier turned his head and gazed into her eyes, a soft smile on his lips. He leaned in, planting a quick, tender kiss on her lips before pulling back slightly. ”Sorry, I’m a little busy right now. If you’re sleepy, you can head to bed and sleep first, no need to wait for me.”

Gracelle was shocked for a moment, the unexpected response making her heart sink a little. She forced a small smile and whispered, ”Okay, Javier-sama,” before planting a soft kiss on his cheek. She stood behind him, her thoughts racing.

Maybe... maybe Javier-sama isn’t really interested in me after all?

She swallowed the lump in her throat and smiled again, her voice gentle. ”Goodnight, Javier-sama. Don’t overwork yourself too much. And... don’t forget to rest if you’re tired.”

Javier nodded without looking at her, his focus still on the documents. ”Okay.”

The single, absent-minded word made her heart sink. She turned and walked toward the wardrobe, biting her lower lip as she tried to hold back the wave of disappointment.

Maybe Javier-sama is just... too tired from the battle today?

Maybe he doesn’t find me as attractive as the others...?

Or maybe... he’s just being kind because of Big Sis Liana’s request?

She forced herself to stay calm, even as a hollow ache settled in her chest. She opened the wardrobe and noticed a beautiful dressing gown hanging inside. It was made of soft, silky fabric, a delicate shade of pale lavender with thin straps and a loose, flowing design. The hem reached just above her knees, and the front was held together by a simple, elegant tie at the waist.

She removed her towel, letting it fall to the floor, standing naked for a moment. She turned and glanced at Javier, hoping he might look at her, but he remained focused on his documents. She bit her lower lip again, a quiet sigh escaping her lips before she reached for the gown and slipped it over her body. The soft fabric glided over her skin, cool and smooth, settling gently against her curves. She tied the sash loosely at her waist, leaving it just a little loose.

She walked to the bed and slumped onto it, her cheek resting against the soft pillow. Her eyes remained fixed on Javier, who was still busy at the table, his back turned to her.

Maybe tonight won’t be the night after all...

Or perhaps... it will never be.

She closed her eyes, feeling a single tear slip down her cheek before she buried her face into the pillow, trying to silence the ache in her heart.
