Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1404: Liana and the Smug Pekko ( 1404 )

Liana exhaled, one hand resting on her hip while the other pinched the bridge of her nose.

“Mimi…”

“Nya?” Mimi’s upside-down head tilted slightly, her ears flopping to the side. “Yes, Big Sis?”

Liana lowered her hand, offering a patient smile. “The new junior has just arrived and is currently in a meeting with Young Master and the rest of the royal family. We will introduce ourselves to her when the time is right. Most likely after the formal audience with His Majesty.”

Mimi’s tail gave a slow, thoughtful sway. “Nyaaa… so we have to wait?”

“Yes, Mimi. We have to wait.”

Mimi let out a dramatic, exaggerated sigh, her body swaying slightly as she hung from the branch. “Okay, nya~”

Gloria shook her head and walked back toward the portable magic grill. She raised her hand, about to channel her mana to ignite it, when Mimi’s voice cut through the air again, her eyes squinting as she raised a hand to shield her brow.

“Nya?”

Gloria paused, glancing up at her. “What now, Mimi?”

“Someone’s coming, nyaaa~”

Liana turned, her gaze landing on a maid approaching them with a graceful, calm walk, both hands clasped neatly in front of her.

“Mahira?”

Mahira smiled, adjusting her maid dress gracefully before nodding softly. “Miss Liana, Miss Gloria, Princess Felicia, Princess Delya, Princess Mimi, and Miss Gracelle. Princess Athine is calling for all of you to gather at the Garden Room. All the princes’ wives have already gathered there.”

Liana clasped her hands in front of her, offering a warm nod. “Oh. I see. Thank you, Mahira. Please let Princess Athine know that we will be there shortly.”

Mahira smiled and gave a slight bow. “I will take my leave now.”

“Okay.” Liana watched as Mahira turned and walked away with the same graceful, measured steps, disappearing down the garden path.

Mimi let out a curious hum from above. “Nyaaa~ Garden Room? That sounds fun!”

Liana turned to the others, her tone calm but carrying a hint of warmth. “Alright. Let’s finish up here and head to the Garden Room. We shouldn’t keep everyone waiting.”

Delya closed the lid of her chocolate jar with a soft click, then jumped gracefully down from the treehouse platform, landing with a soft, elegant thud. Mimi, still hanging upside down, swung her body twice before flipping through the air in a cheerful, acrobatic motion, landing on the ground with both feet planted firmly and a cheeky grin on her face.

“Nya! 10/10!” Mimi struck a pose, both hands on her hips, her chest puffed out proudly.

Gloria let out a soft sigh, one hand resting on her cheek as she glanced at the portable magic grill. She crossed one arm, resting her other elbow on it, and mumbled softly to herself.

“And I was just about to cook his favorite roast meat too…” She shook her head with a soft chuckle, nudging her glasses up before turning and walking toward Liana. “Well, I suppose it can wait.”

Felicia closed her book with a gentle snap, rising gracefully to her feet. She smoothed her dress and walked over to join Liana, her tail swaying calmly behind her.

Liana took a few steps before pausing. She glanced over her shoulder, a soft smile spreading across her lips.

“Gracelle?”

Gracelle, who had been standing still, fidgeted slightly. “Umm… y-yes?”

“What are you waiting for? Let’s go.”

Gracelle’s face lit up, a bright smile spreading across her lips as she hurried toward them, her steps light and eager. “Okay, Big Sis!”

While walking, with Liana in front, Gloria to her right side, Felicia on her left, Delya following quietly behind, and Mimi skipping cheerfully ahead, Gracelle hurried to keep pace.

Liana’s gaze drifted to the distance, where a familiar huge orange pekko stood tall in front of two wild pekko who were sitting obediently on the ground. Buddy was squawking at them with an authoritative tone, his chest puffed out as if delivering a stern lecture.

“Ara~ Look there, Liana. Young Master’s buddy is scolding them like a general drilling his troops,” Gloria teased, a smirk playing on her lips.

Liana smiled, her eyes following Gloria’s gaze. “Yes~ I believe I’ve seen that brown one before. And the other one is the one that’s always wandering around the estate.” Liana replied, slowing her steps. “Buddy probably takes his role as the leader of his flock seriously.”

Mimi squinted her eyes before pointing excitedly. “Nya! That one is the wild Pekko who helped Mimi lift the steel bucket to get water for our Pekkos, nya!”

Buddy glanced at them from a distance before letting out a low, smug squawk. He strutted toward them with exaggerated confidence, stopping in front of Liana and puffing out his chest.

“Cuquawked~ Cuquawked~” (Look what we have here. If it isn’t the elf witch~ Going for a stroll? Taking all the little witches somewhere?)

Liana exhaled and shook her head before glaring up at him, crossing her arms. “Have you already checked on your girls?”

“Cuquawked!?” (Huh?)

Buddy smirked with his beak, giving Liana a mock glance with one eye, tilting his head smugly.

“Cuquawked!” (Who do you think I am? Of course, I always check on them~ They’re my girls~ Soon you’re going to see all your Pekkos have chicks~ Thanks to me~)

“Yes, yes,” Liana replied, still crossing her arms as she glanced up at Buddy before pointing with her lips toward the two other Pekkos. “So, who are those two?”

Buddy let out a dismissive squawk. “Cuquawked!” (I’m not going to tell you if your witches are around! At least tell them to wait somewhere.)

Liana pinched the bridge of her nose, exhaling slowly before turning to Gloria. “Gloria?”

“Yes, Liana~?”

“Go ahead and bring them to the Garden Room. I’ll follow you later after this.”

Gloria tilted her head. “Are you sure?”

“Yes. Just go ahead. This won’t take too long.”

“Okay~” Gloria turned, leading the other girls forward. Mimi skipped after her, while Felicia, Delya, and Gracelle followed close behind.

Buddy watched them go with a smug smirk on his beak before turning his attention back to Liana.

Liana glanced up at him again. “So? Who are those pekko? Your new harem?”

Buddy squawked in protest, fluffing his feathers indignantly. “Cuquawked!” (No! Those are guys! Ugh.)

He composed himself, puffing his chest again.

“Cuquawked~ Cuquawked~” (Since my master said it’s time for the next two of his girls to get their own pekko, I helped him choose. That brownie is already locked in for the new witch you’re about to meet. And that other one has been wandering around the estate, so I just grabbed him for that shy little brat. Of course, Father allows me to pick any wild pekko I want, whenever I want.)
