Reborn As Noble

Chapter 588: Old Friendships, New Alliances ( 588 )

King Lioness extended his hand toward a nearby officer, who quickly stepped forward and handed him a sealed scroll.

“And one more thing,” the king said, his voice calm but authoritative. “If you’re headed to the place where your young master is currently stationed…”

Liana and Gloria both straightened, paying close attention.

“Please stop by Gilikan Town on your way. It was recently reclaimed from the Halfling forces by your young master and handed over to our kingdom. Commander Raikus is stationed there now.”

He handed the scroll to Liana himself.

“Deliver this letter to him. It contains the latest orders and confirms your passage. I’ve arranged for the border guards to let you through once your task here is done.”

Liana received the scroll with both hands, bowing politely.

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Gloria followed with a respectful smile. “We’ll make sure it’s delivered safely.”

King Lioness nodded with satisfaction.

“Then I wish you a swift journey… and may the wind carry you quickly to him.”

Felicia glanced sideways at the two maids, lips pressed in a flat line as they gracefully turned and headed toward the exit—each step filled with elegance, their breasts bouncing and hips swaying with every move.

Felicia clenched her fists at her sides, her golden eyes narrowing, lips twitching in annoyance.

“Just you wait… you smug pointy-eared elf…” she muttered softly.

Boing…

Her sharp ears twitched again at that sound—Liana’s graceful steps, followed by the soft bounce of her ample chest.

Felicia’s eye twitched.

Then, another bounce.

She turned her glare to Gloria, the human maid, whose composed and elegant demeanor only made her curves seem even more unfairly perfect.

Felicia bit her lower lip.

“Why!? Why does a human maid have such a perfect figure!?”

She looked down at her own body—her proud curves, slender waist, and well-shaped legs. She knew she was beautiful. She knew her figure was something others envied across the capital.

But compared to them…

She narrowed her eyes again, watching their confident postures, swaying hips, and luxurious curves.

“Their grace… their presence… their breasts… their curves…”

Her ears twitched once more.

Grrr… These two… they’re dangerous…!

Especially to my future husband… Javier…

Liana turned gracefully at the throne room’s exit, offering a soft smile to Felicia, her emerald eyes calm but with an unmistakable hint of smugness.

“Well then… future fifth wife, we excuse ourselves.”

She bowed politely, but the sparkle in her eyes made it clear she was enjoying herself.

“Hah!?” Felicia’s voice shot up. “Since when did I become the fifth!? I’m the first!!”

Gloria tilted her head, a hand lightly covering her mouth as she chuckled softly.

“Ara~ In your dreams, Princess. Mimi already claimed the fourth after losing to Princess Delya for the third slot.”

Felicia’s jaw nearly dropped.

“That bratty kitten got in before me!?”

Liana and Gloria both turned to leave—graceful, poised, glowing with the triumph of victory.

Felicia stood frozen for a moment… then stomped her foot lightly and muttered under her breath.

“We’ll see about that…”

“I’m not losing to bouncing maids…”

King Lioness watched the scene unfold with a bemused smile. As Liana and Gloria exited the hall, their movements smooth and elegant like seasoned nobles, his gaze shifted to his daughter.

Felicia stood stiff, fists clenched at her sides, then—

stomp.

She lightly stamped her foot against the polished marble floor, her golden eyes glaring fiercely at the retreating backs of the Armand maids.

A brief flicker of pouty frustration crossed her face. Just for a second.

King Lioness blinked, a look of surprise crossing his face.

That… was new.

“She actually stomped her foot…” he murmured with a small grin, lips curling up.

Inside his mind:

I’ve raised her so strict, so composed all these years. I’ve never seen her act like this… Not even once. A childish tantrum, over a boy, no less?

Is this what Garius meant when he said his son changes people?

He folded his arms behind his back, glancing once more toward the exit.

“This might be… interesting.”

Felicia stood tall, her eyes shining with pure determination.

“Father!! I’m going!!” she declared boldly.

King Lioness blinked in surprise.

“Huh!? Where!?”

“To Lord Javier’s place! With those two!” she replied swiftly, already turning as if the decision was final.

The king let out a heavy sigh, rubbing his temple.

“They’re using Pekko, you know. Fast on land… even faster than battle wolves.”

Felicia froze for a moment, her brow twitching slightly.

“But—!”

The king chuckled quietly to himself.

So that’s what Garius meant…

His mind briefly flashed back:

When Garius’s staff delivered one majestic Pekko birds months ago, he had arched an eyebrow and thought aloud, “What am I supposed to do with these oversized birds? We don’t eat them.”

Now it made sense.

“So that’s why he sent them…,” King Lioness muttered, a smirk forming on his face.

“Very well. I grant you permission to go.”

Felicia’s eyes lit up, victory flashing across her face.

“But!” the king added sternly, raising a finger.

“No fighting. No dueling. No provoking those two on the road.”

Felicia looked away, lips twitching in protest.

“Understood.”

Turning to his closest advisor, the king ordered,

“Go. Tell those two that my daughter will accompany them. Prepare her Pekko and her travel gear immediately.”

“At once, Your Majesty!” the advisor hurried off.

King Lioness shook his head with a soft chuckle.

Inside King Lioness’s mind, a wave of nostalgia and quiet satisfaction washed over him.

Now both of my daughters… Felicia and Mimi… will marry Garius’s youngest son.

He folded his arms, quietly watching Felicia’s retreating figure with a gentle smile.

Garius and I have been best friends. Old friends… battle brothers. We’ve shed blood together, shared victories and setbacks. And now—

He exhaled slowly.

Now, our bond will go beyond politics and war. It’s no longer just an alliance… it’s family. A future tied by blood and legacy.

He let out a tired sigh, his gaze drifting toward the path Liana and Gloria had taken.

Felicia might not realize it yet… but those two girls she’s so busy competing with—

His eyes narrowed slightly, his expression shifting to something more serious.

They’re not ordinary.

Liana… the silver-haired elf with an aura of quiet strength. She isn’t just any maid. She’s the direct niece of Queen Mylezra—the ruler of the Elven Kingdom.

He paused briefly.

And Gloria… she might look human, but Mylezra once confided in us. Her cousin married a human, and Gloria was born from that union. Even if the girl doesn’t know it herself… she carries elven blood. Mylezra considers her a niece.

Lioness placed a hand on his chin, lost in thought.

That means… Garius assigned two of the most dangerous, most politically sensitive figures to serve under his son—as “maids.” No wonder they’re so fiercely protective of him.

He smiled again.

My old friend… you really raised a monster… and a miracle.
