Six Months Contract With The Mafia God

Luca entered, closing the door behind him. He’d been waiting for this moment, knowing that the intelligence package was coming, understanding that once it arrived, everything would change.

”The package?” Luca asked, seeing the pages spread across the desk.

”The package,” Dante confirmed. ”Come look at this.”

Luca moved to the desk and began reading, his expression shifting as he took in the scope of the intelligence. After several minutes, he looked up at Dante.

”This is thorough,” Luca said. ”More thorough than anything we’ve ever had on any operation. Where did they get all this?”

”Doesn’t matter,” Dante said. ”What matters is what we do with it.”

He stood and walked to the window overlooking the gardens. His legs held his weight easily now. The recovery was nearly complete. In another week, he’d be able to move with full mobility, and then the real work could begin.

”The first move,” Dante said, turning back to face Luca, ”is the Colombian shipment. It arrives in four days at the New Jersey terminal. The port manager is compromised...gambling debts, financial pressure, exactly the kind of man who can be bought.”

”You want to intercept it,” Luca said, understanding immediately.

”I want to intercept it,” Dante confirmed. ”Not for the product itself. That’s just bonus. I want to intercept it to send a message. I want Dimitri to understand that his supply chain is no longer secure. That his operations are vulnerable. That someone is hunting him.”

Luca nodded slowly, already thinking through the logistics.

”We contact the port manager,” Luca said. ”We make him an offer. Money, protection, whatever he needs. We tell him to flag the container for inspection, a routine customs check that will delay everything. While it’s delayed, we move in and take the shipment.”

”Exactly,” Dante said. ”And we make sure word gets back to Dimitri about who did it. We want him to know it’s me. We want him to understand that I’m operational again. That I’m a threat.”

”What about the product?” Luca asked. ”Do we sell it? Use it ourselves?”

”We sell half of it,” Dante said. ”Undercut his prices in his own territory. Force him to either match our pricing and lose money, or watch his market share disappear. Either way, it damages him.”

”And the other half?”

”We destroy it,” Dante said simply. ”We burn it. We send him a message that this isn’t about profit for us. It’s about war.”

Luca was quiet for a moment, processing the strategy.

”He’s going to retaliate,” Luca finally said. ”The moment he realizes what we’ve done, he’s going to come at us hard.”

”I’m counting on it,” Dante said. ”Because while he’s busy retaliating against us, while he’s distracted and angry and making decisions based on emotion instead of strategy, we’re going to hit him with the second move.”

He gestured to the intelligence package on the desk.

”The Japanese business deal,” Dante continued. ”We contact the Japanese firm. We offer them better terms. We offer them security and reliability they won’t get from Dimitri. We offer them a partnership without the complications of being connected to an American crime family. We steal that deal right out from under him.”

Luca moved back to the desk and picked up the section detailing the Japanese negotiations.

”This is a multi-million dollar deal,” Luca said. ”If we steal it, if we take that revenue stream away from him...”

”He loses credibility with his international partners,” Dante finished. ”He looks weak. He looks like he can’t protect his own interests. And in this world, looking weak is a death sentence.”

”The third move?” Luca asked.

”Territory,” Dante said. ”We consolidate the neighborhoods in Brooklyn that he’s been expanding into. We offer the local dealers better terms. We offer protection. We offer stability. And we flip them back to neutral territory before Dimitri can fully cement his control.”

Luca set down the papers and looked at his boss with something that might have been respect or might have been concern, Dante couldn’t quite tell which.

”This is going to take months,” Luca said. ”Maybe longer.”

”I know,” Dante replied. ”But that’s the point. This isn’t a sprint. This is a marathon. This is me systematically dismantling everything he’s built while he’s stuck trying to react to crises instead of being able to plan his own moves.”

”And The Covenant?” Luca asked. ” The want him dead, but the question is when?”

”Yes they want Dimitri dead,” Dante said simply. ”Eventually. When he’s weakened enough. When he’s isolated enough. When he has nowhere left to turn. That’s when The Covenant moves in and finishes what they started when he burned their facility.”

Luca nodded slowly, understanding the long game now.

”When do we start?” Luca asked.

”Tomorrow,” Dante said. ”Contact the port manager. Make the offer. Tell him we’ll double whatever anyone else offers him. Tell him that if he cooperates, his debts disappear. All of them. We’ll handle the loan sharks, the bookies, everyone he owes. Clean slate.”

”And if he refuses?” Luca asked.

”Then he disappears,” Dante said flatly. ”And we find someone else to manage the port. Either way, the shipment gets intercepted.”

Luca nodded and turned to leave.

”Luca,” Dante called out.

His second-in-command stopped and turned back.

”This is how we win,” Dante said. ”Not through direct confrontation. Not through desperate moves. But through patience. Through strategy. Through understanding that the best way to defeat a man like Dimitri is to dismantle his world piece by piece until he has nothing left.”

”I understand, boss,” Luca said. ”And I’ll make sure it happens exactly the way you want it.”

After Luca left, Dante returned to the desk and spread the intelligence pages out again. He studied the shipment routes, the business deals, the territory maps, the names of key personnel.

This was his roadmap to victory.

Not through kidnapping or violence or dramatic confrontations. But through the slow, methodical dismantling of Dimitri’s empire.

The Covenant had given him something better than a weapon. They’d given him a blueprint for how to win a war of attrition.

And Dante was nothing if not patient.

He picked up his phone and called the number for The Covenant contact.

”It’s done,” Dante said when the voice answered. ”I have the package. I’ve reviewed the intelligence. I’m ready to begin operations.”

”Excellent,” the voice replied. ”We’ll continue to provide intelligence as operations progress. The first move should disrupt his supply chain sufficiently to force a response. That’s when we’ll know if he’s truly vulnerable.”

”He is,” Dante said with absolute certainty. ”And I’m going to prove it.”

He hung up and settled back in his chair, his legs strong now, his mind sharp, his strategy clear.

For weeks, he’d been a crippled man in a wheelchair, dependent on doctors and therapy and miracle treatments.

Now, he was a hunter again.

And his prey was Dimitri Valentino.
