Chapter 970: The Realm is Interfering?

Translator: Sean88888 Editor: Elkassar1

Currently, in front of Sheyan, a total of six Bloody Invitation Letters floated out, issuing a scarlet light that painted the faces of the people around in a brutal red.

The real appearance of the Bloody Invitation Letters actually could not be seen in the Bloody World. They looked like pieces of papers soaked in thick blood. One could not see what was on them. But now, in the nightmare realm, they could be seen more clearly. They looked like palm-sized maple leaves immersed in boiling blood, with their surface emitting a dense red hot air.

The source of Sheyan’s six Bloody Invitation Letters were as follows:

He had one himself.

He got one after killing Hakeem.

He got one from the MIB.

He got one after killing Togo in the giant underground reproductive system.

And he got two after killing Fate.

Although Fate was a formidable guy, he actually needed a team around him to display his full power. The reason was that Fate was a fragile mage-type contestant, but his explosive power could only be displayed in close quarters. So it was not unusual for him to have only one extra Bloody Invitation Letter on him.

Zi suddenly said in a serious tone while she was carefully observing the Bloody Invitation Letters, ”Why do I get the feeling that the contents of these Bloody Invitation Letters are like torn pictures? I feel as if the pictures are hiding some sort of secret about the universe, and if you put them all together, you would get a complete map.”

When the others heard this, they gathered around the invitation letters to study them carefully, and found that Zi’s words were true. It was fortunate that Sheyan was able to come up with six Bloody Invitation Letters at the same time, so they could do a lot of cross comparisons to come to this conclusion.

This was akin to the study of oracle bone inscriptions from ancient times ( TL: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oracle_bone_script ). If there were only a few oracle-bone inscriptions on a piece of cow shoulder blade, even the best linguist would find it hard-pressed to interpret the meaning of each oracle-bone inscription. But if there were more than ten bone fragments with hundreds of oracle bone inscriptions on them, analysing and studying the meaning of the words would become possible.

After taking out the Bloody Invitation Letters, Sheyan then selected the F-level Golden Side Mission he had -- ”Collect”.

The group was currently in Sheyan’s private room. Suddenly, there was a very unusual situation!

The soft light from the surrounding wall disappeared, enveloping them in darkness. Only the six Bloody Invitation Letters still had a faint glow of blood on them.

[Golden Side Mission: ”Collect” successfully completed.]

[You have successfully collected six Bloody Invitation Letters for your Noah Realm.]

[Mission completion evaluation in progress....Please wait patiently.]

After waiting for less than 30 seconds, the nightmare imprint on Sheyan’s chest suddenly fluctuated gently. Sheyan knew that the Noah Realm C he belonged to was trying to communicate directly with him.

[Growth Hunter No. 1018, your potential and growth far exceeded my expectations.]

[Therefore, I will now give you 3 options to choose from.]

[The first option: You can complete the mission in the normal way. Certify 4 Bloody Invitation Letters, and you will get the normal reward.]

[The second option: Certify all the Bloody Invitation Letters you have. You will get an additional reward.”]

[The third option: Submit all the Bloody Invitation Letters you have to the realm. Your reward will be upgraded by 2 ranks. However, doing so will clear you of all the Bloody Invitation Letters you have, and you will fail your Bloody World main mission.]

Sheyan mind was immediately thrown into disarray after seeing the third option. He instantly made use of his Lieutenant Colonel military rank to ask:

”What do you mean when you said my reward will be upgraded by 2 ranks?”

The realm gave a short and concise answer:

[Your Golden Side Mission: ”Collect” was judged to be F-level difficulty, so the reward was only an F-level Golden Side Mission reward. Upgrading your reward by 2 ranks means your reward will be upgraded to a D-level Golden Side Mission reward.]

Because Sheyan had chosen to share the notifications within his party, Zi and the others could see them as well. Sanzi exclaimed, ”Oh, I see! Our Noah Realm C is trying to steal a tile!”

Both Zi and Reef could speak Chinese, but they were quite confused about the high-end Chinese phrase ”steal a tile” (TL: It’s a move in mahjong). Sanzi thought about it and explained, ”Put it this way. We’re like soldiers, and the Noah Realm C we belong to should be like the company commander, while the one issuing the main mission of the Bloody World..... Well, it should be someone of a higher authority, similar to a regiment commander.”

”In the presence of a regiment commander, the spoils we get should be turned over to the regiment commander, but if the company commander, who only has the right to make an inventory of the spoils and not to take them, also wants the spoils, he will not be able to fight the regiment commander head on. He would have to take a more roundabout approach, such as persuading us to hand the spoils over to him.”

Reef and the others were quite calm when they heard what Sanzi had to say because to them, Seaman’s younger brother would of course be quite smart as well, so it was nothing surprising. On the other hand, Sheyan was really surprised with Sanzi, although he did not show any reaction on the surface. He silently sighed that the life and death situations in the nightmare realm could truly temper someone. Sanzi was maturing at a speed beyond his imagination.

With her chin on her hand, Zi said, ”Obviously, if we’re not careful with our choice, we’ll easily offend someone. We might offend the Noah Realm C we belong to, or we might offend the higher-level authority who could issue a Bloody World main mission. My advice is to choose the second option. That way, neither side would be embarrassed.”

Sheyan suddenly remembered the cold voice of the old hag when had gone to upgrade his military rank and her ”highest praise from the Empire”. Sheyan instantly made his decision.

”I’ve decided. I choose the third option!”

As soon as Sheyan made the choice, the six Bloody Invitation Letters in front flew into the wall beside him, followed by a string of notifications:

[The evaluation of your Golden Side Mission is completed.]

[Mission completion evaluation: Excellent (You have performed very well. Hopefully, you can perform even better next time.)]

[Mission explanation: This is the first time Noah Realm C has obtained a total of nine Bloody Invitation Letters, and it’s hard to tell whether it’s good news or bad news for you.]

(TL note: Aziz has three.)

[Note: Your party level is high enough, so as the leader of a silver party, there will be a bonus to some of the reward options.]

[Your achievement points are increased by 30 + 10 (extra difficulty) + 2 (silver high-level party leader) + 1 (legend level) ]

[You receive 200,000 utility points.]

[You receive 30 potential points.]

[You successfully completed the Golden Side Mission! Party experience raised by 33% of current level!]

When they saw ”200,000 utility points” and ”30 potential points”, all of them heaved a sigh of relief. They felt that the economic crisis that was hanging over them had been effectively alleviated, but...there are problems when one lacks money, and there are also problems when one has money. Sheyan felt the fervent gazes around him and had a strange feeling that the economic crisis hanging over his head had not disappeared at all, but had become more powerful instead.

[Because your mission completion evaluation is excellent, in your selection menu, there will be four random Golden Side Mission unique reward items/equipments for you to choose from!]

[Because the the Golden Side Mission you completed had a difficulty rating of D (after the upgrade), you can only choose two of the following rewards as your final rewards.]

(ED: Quick reminder for clarity- Sheyan chose the option to upgrade reward from F to D, so the difficulty rank is also D)

[Reward A: An increase of {10 + 1} points (+1 from legend level) to a random base attribute]

[Description: After selecting this option, a random attribute of yours will increase by 11 points. The reward will be applied directly to the base attribute and will not be bound by the rules of assigning attribute points.]

(e.g. if Physique was randomly selected, Sheyan’s Physique will directly increase by 10. Normally, if a Growth Hunter wanted to increase a base attribute by 10, they would have to use 30 free attribute points for a main attribute, 50 free attribute points for a secondary attribute, and 70 free attribute points for other attributes!)

　　****

[Reward B: Space Stabiliser]

[Description: After using this item, a violent turbulence will flood the area. Dimensional spells cannot be used within 100 kilometers around the spot for an hour. This item will take 24 hours to recharge.]

　　****

[Reward C: Amnesty Order]

[Description: After using this item, you can choose a current mission that you have, and the mission will be deemed successfully completed. You will receive the reward corresponding to a mission completion evaluation of ’Excellent’. The mission cannot be a mission of the golden series or those of equivalent rank.]

　　****

[Reward D: Plastic bacteria rebuilding solvents]

[Description: This is the latest discovery by researchers targeting the severe dismemberment problem that often occurs on the battlefield. The solvent will automatically collect the data in your body and try to regenerate your limbs within a short period. In addition, this rapid growth effect will last for 48 hours. Of course, it is ineffective for the dead, and not that effective for brain repair either.]

　　****

[Reward E: Elite metal dissolution concocting liquid]

[Description: This is a rare silver storyline grade item. You can apply the liquid on an equipment or item you would like to reinforce for a 100% chance to strengthen it to lvl 3, a 50% chance to strengthen it to lvl 5, and a 10% chance to strengthen it to lvl 7.]

[Description: This liquid will only work on a silver storyline grade or dark gold grade equipment/item.]

[Description: This is a rare material extracted from the core of a planet, which can greatly increase the ductility and toughness of a material. It is something quite valuable even in the entire nightmare realm.]

Following that were the four unique rewards of the Golden Side Mission, which were displayed in a sparkling golden font!
