Chapter 82: MSOC: Chapter 82

Looking at the Third Hokage’s furrowed brow, Jiraiya sighed helplessly and said, ”I’ve considered this too, but with Kai’s current talent, even if he doesn’t learn Sage Mode at Mount Myōboku, he could go to Ryuchi Cave or Shikkotsu Forest.”

”Don’t forget how greedy those snakes are. If Kai offers enough, it wouldn’t be difficult to get the opportunity to learn Sage Mode.”

As he spoke, Jiraiya took out the token Fukasaku had given him. ”Besides, the Great Toad Sage has lived for a long time. With him watching over Kai, we should be able to get more information.”

The Third Hokage fell silent.

He couldn’t refute Jiraiya’s words.

As Jiraiya said, everything Kai had shown was beyond their control.

Moreover, letting him leave for a while to learn Sage Mode and test his learning ability might not be a bad thing.

”Alright, since you’ve already made up your mind, I’ll leave this to you,” the Third Hokage sighed. ”Before we figure out Kai’s stance, you need to be careful of Danzō.”

”Also, I hope you can find a way to improve Minato’s strength. Otherwise, facing Kai’s rise, his chances of winning will be slim.”

The Third Hokage was very concerned about Kai’s future and his stance.

But when it came to choosing the next Hokage, the Third Hokage still favored Minato Namikaze, whom he knew well.

Looking at Jiraiya rubbing his nose, the Third Hokage said helplessly, ”If you were willing to inherit this position, I wouldn’t be so troubled.”

”The former Sannin were so outstanding. They were also the face of this old man. Now, some have left, some have retired, and even you’ve gone into hiding. If you were here, Konoha wouldn’t be in this situation.”

Hearing these words, Jiraiya was stunned for a moment, but he quickly recovered and rolled his eyes. ”You old man, don’t try to play the emotional card with me.”

”Don’t forget, I trained Minato to replace me.”

”But rest assured, when Fukasaku-sama left, I asked for a chance for Minato to learn Sage Mode. As long as he learns Sage Mode, his strength will definitely surpass his teacher.”

It would be a joke to say that Jiraiya wasn’t worried about Kai’s rise.

Especially seeing his proud student being surpassed step by step, there was always a hurdle in his heart.

So, driven by selfishness and using his little connections, Jiraiya was being a bit self-serving.

”Haha, you’re still the same old you, liking to play little tricks behind the scenes,” the Third Hokage chuckled. ”I really hope that after learning Sage Mode, Minato can surpass Kai.”

”Cut it out, you old man. Don’t you believe in your grandson?” Jiraiya rolled his eyes. ”Don’t forget, Minato is Konoha’s Yellow Flash. His talent is the best among all the students I’ve taught.”

”With me personally guiding him, I believe he will definitely surpass Uchiha Kai. Just wait for the news.”

Leaving those words behind, Jiraiya turned and disappeared from the office without looking back.

Watching him leave, the Third Hokage sighed softly, stood up, and looked out the window at Konoha Village.

”Has the ninja world really changed because of one boy?”

Three days later, Kai and his group crossed the border of Konoha, avoiding many war zones, and finally saw Konoha’s sealing gate.

During these days, Kai also learned from Minato Namikaze that after the Godaime Bridge was destroyed, the Iwa ninjas lost their food supply.

Their vanguard was completely wiped out by Kai and Minato, leading to low morale.

At the same time, something very important happened.

The Kumogakure, with the Third Raikage leading the troops, launched a surprise attack on Iwagakure’s Jinchūriki, leading to an even larger-scale battle.

Although the final outcome was unknown for now, Kumogakure’s actions gave Konoha Village a chance to breathe.

The war on the front lines with Iwagakure had completely stopped.

It could be said that, facing the four great countries, Iwagakure’s combat strength and manpower were second only to Konoha, and even slightly stronger than Kumogakure.

Kumogakure was clearly trying to suppress Iwagakure after suffering losses at Kai’s hands.

Seeing that Iwagakure was also suffering losses on the front lines, the Third Raikage, in order to suppress Iwagakure, took such a risk to attack Iwagakure.

However, upon learning that the Third Raikage’s target was the Tailed Beast, Kai knew that his goal was clearly to obtain the Tailed Beast to enhance Kumogakure’s strength, because Killer Bee knew how to perfectly integrate with the Tailed Beast.

”Kai, you’re finally back,” Uchiha Fugaku’s voice suddenly rang out.

Three figures appeared in front of the group, like ghosts.

”Brother!” Uchiha Itachi glanced at Kai, his face full of unspoken words.

As for the boy standing beside Uchiha Itachi, who was four or five years older and carrying a short sword, Kai instantly recognized him.

”Alright, save it for your uncle,” Kai rubbed Uchiha Itachi’s head. ”Shisui, long time no see.”

In the memories of the previous Uchiha Kai, there were also memories of Uchiha Shisui.

Moreover, Uchiha Shisui was kind and caring. He was quite concerned about Kai, who was a dead last in the village.

In those vague memories, Uchiha Shisui had even taught him how to throw shuriken.

”Kai, long time no see. I didn’t expect you to be hiding so deep. Last time, I even had the cheek to teach you how to throw shuriken,” Uchiha Shisui chuckled.

Seeing this, Kai touched his nose helplessly.

He couldn’t tell him that he, a genius, had taken over the body of the previous dead last.

This beautiful misunderstanding could only continue.

”Alright, we can catch up later. You three came here in person, so something must have happened,” Uchiha Kai said.

As soon as he finished speaking, even Minato Namikaze’s expression stiffened.

He had passed on the information about Kai to Jiraiya.

However, Jiraiya had been avoiding talking about the subsequent events and decisions.

Now, Uchiha Fugaku was waiting here in person, which showed how serious the situation was.

”I had to use Itachi and Shisui as an excuse to escape the surveillance of the spies and come here to try my luck. I didn’t expect to actually find you,” Uchiha Fugaku activated his Sharingan and looked around. ”Recently, the family’s gathering place has been under surveillance by many Anbu members, with even more from Danzō’s Root.”

”This change made me think of you first.”

”I want to know what happened.”

Uchiha Fugaku didn’t care about Minato Namikaze being present.

It could be said that in Uchiha Fugaku’s heart, Minato Namikaze was the only Konoha high-ranking official he was close to.

He was also the only one he hoped could become Hokage.

However, now that Kai had become a variable, he couldn’t hold back anymore.

”They’re all in action? They’re pretty efficient,” Kai touched his nose. ”It’s not a big deal. I just killed the Third Mizukage and then took the Three-Tails. It seems Danzō is old. He can’t even handle this little thing.”

His quiet words left Uchiha Fugaku and the three of them dumbfounded.

They looked at Kai, and their gazes became unreal.

Killing the Third Mizukage and taking the Three-Tails, is this a small thing?
