Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 2313: Chapter 2309: Demon Sacrifice Day

”Are you interested in the Blue Leaf Poison?”

asked Dongfang Wu.

Xiao Yi smiled but didn’t answer.

One of the reasons he came to the western region was indeed related to the Blue Leaf Poison.

He had investigated the archives of the Eight Palaces; the Blue Leaf Poison first appeared fifteen years ago.

At that time, occurrences of the Blue Leaf Poison were few, but each time it appeared, it caused significant casualties.

As time went on, outbreaks of this Blue Leaf Poison became more frequent, sweeping across the entire western region in just fifteen years.

Of course, it wasn’t a comprehensive outbreak, but it occurred in various parts of the western region.

However, each time it appeared, members of the Dongfang Family would promptly arrive to investigate and prevent its spread.

Otherwise, if these outbreaks of Blue Leaf Poison were left unchecked, the western region would have long been lifeless.

Before going to the Ice Emperor Palace, the Demon Hunting Main Hall Master had mentioned this matter to him and asked him to investigate casually. If he could find something, great; if not, it didn’t matter.

In this dangerous world, allowing a perilous existence to ravage unchecked was enough to create a terrifying disaster.

This risk wasn’t limited to the mysterious Blue Leaf land; powerful martial artists fighting and conspiracies from hidden evil forces were also possibilities.

But over the countless years, these various crises have never truly destabilized the Central Region.

The Eight Palaces, along with many forces in the Central Region, are accustomed to dealing with these diverse crises.

”Forget it, I can’t find anything.” Xiao Yi stood up.

”But Miss Dongfang, you’re just an ordinary person without cultivation, yet you dare to investigate this matter and wander through danger?”

Dongfang Wu chuckled lightly, ”I have the Purple Winged Army protecting me, what is there to fear?”

”Impressive.” Xiao Yi nodded satisfactorily, ”It seems that the younger generation of the Dongfang Family aren’t all fools.”

Dongfang Wu was just over twenty years old.

In Xiao Yi’s eyes, she was just a little girl.

But this little girl showed such courage, which surprised Xiao Yi.

”Are you going to my Dongfang Family?” Dongfang Wu asked.

”If you are, we can go together. I’ve finished my investigation here and need to return to the family.”

”Alright.” Xiao Yi nodded.

Swish... swish... swish... swish...

The group flew off into the sky.

But it was clear to see, Dongfang Wu flew alongside Xiao Yi, but her body always remained one position behind him.

”Flight prohibition?” Xiao Yi glanced at Dongfang Wu and smiled.

Dongfang Wu was just an ordinary person. Her ability to fly was due to a flight prohibition engraved by a stronger individual on her wrist, which she could activate by merely touching, without expending any primordial power.

However, it’s obvious that Dongfang Wu was not a martial artist, and controlling this flight prohibition was somewhat challenging for her.

”I’ll fly with you.” Xiao Yi extended his finger, sending a sword qi beneath Dongfang Wu.

Compared to the arrogant younger members of the Dongfang Family he had encountered before, Dongfang Wu was evidently much more polite.

What surprised Xiao Yi most was the perpetual calmness in Dongfang Wu’s eyes.

This would be a calm friend, no need for deep bonds but able to converse pleasantly.

The three flew through the sky.

The Purple Winged Army had already vanished into the air, though not truly disappeared, but rather following closely while hidden.

A while later.

Dongfang Wu glanced at Xiao Yi and said, ”If you’re not interested in the Blue Leaf Poison, then this trip to the western region is likely for the Demon Sacrifice Day, isn’t it?”

”Demon Sacrifice Day?” Xiao Yi asked puzzledly, ”Is it starting soon?”

Xiao Yi knew about the Demon Sacrifice Day; it’s just like the Guisha Festival Day in Guisha City.

More accurately, the Demon Sacrifice Day in Guisha City came about because Senior Luoo emulated the Demon Sacrifice Day.

The distinction between the two lay only in the switch to demon hunting.

This is a grand event held by the Dongfang Family, though the timing is not fixed.

The so-called Demon Sacrifice Day is a beast tide eruption on the edge of the Demon Domain, where martial artists enter for a hunt and defense.

This is a massive demon beast outbreak from the Demon Domain, unmatched by other beast tides on common dangerous places within the Central Region.

However, the time frame of this beast tide eruption is uncertain, as is the timing for the Demon Sacrifice Day.

It’s just that the Dongfang Family has guarded the Demon Domain edge for years and is familiar with the Demon Domain situation. Therefore, every time a beast tide is about to erupt, the Dongfang Family can know in advance.

During this period, the Dongfang Family releases the news and holds the Demon Sacrifice Day.

The shortest time between Demon Sacrifice Days is every five to six years; longer intervals can stretch over a dozen years.

Therefore, the grand Demon Sacrifice Day is actually quite rare.

Every Demon Sacrifice Day attracts numerous exceptional geniuses, and the Dongfang Family offers extraordinarily generous rewards.

Of course, those daring enough to enter the Demon Domain are not ordinary.

Thus, this is a grand occasion and an important training session for many geniuses and exceptional talents.

Additionally, the Demon Sacrifice Day isn’t publicly announced, making it a special event for hidden forces.

Ordinary forces and talents are ineligible to participate.

Xiao Yi knew about the Demon Sacrifice Day but didn’t know when it would be held this time, nor had he received any news.

It turned out that the Demon Sacrifice Day would be held during the month he spent at the Ice Emperor Palace.

”I suppose.” Xiao Yi nodded.

”As expected,” Dongfang Wu chuckled, ”This time, there’s been unusual activity in the Demon Domain, more intense than any previous Demon Sacrifice Day, over half a month ago.”

”If nothing unexpected happens, this Demon Sacrifice Day should be quite exciting, attracting many hidden exceptional talents quickly.”

”As far as I know, many well-known talents from the younger generation have arrived.”

”You and Xia Yiming came relatively late.”

Xia Yiming coldly glanced at Dongfang Wu, ”Ordinary talents, worthy of comparison with the Palace Master?”

”Demon Sacrifice Day, huh.” Xiao Yi murmured, nodding.

He happened to need to enter the Demon Domain.

Every Demon Sacrifice Day is extraordinarily grand, with strong contenders gathering, and countless exceptional geniuses participating.

Boom...

As Xiao Yi was pondering, a fierce slash suddenly broke the sky below.

”Palace Master, beware.” Xia Yiming reacted quickly, instantly forming a wave of Ice Storm Sword Energy in his hand.

Boom... The sword energy collided with the sky-breaking slash, producing a loud roar.

The Ice Storm Sword Energy dissipated instantly, but the sky-breaking slash only lost some of its power and fiercely roared onward.

”Hmm? A Saint Sovereign Realm Fourth Layer level?” Xia Yiming frowned.

Simultaneously, boom... boom... boom... boom...

Pieces of giant stones soared into the sky.

No, those weren’t giant stones, they were massive mountains, pressing densely.

”Careful.” Xiao Yi grabbed Dongfang Wu nearby, formed sword qi in his hand, and struck out fiercely.

Boom... boom... boom... boom...

The sword qi shattered most of the mountains but ultimately couldn’t resist against the dense array of thousands of enormous mountains.

Under the fierce rumbling explosions, the enormous mountains descended from the sky, crashing heavily onto the ground.

In the sky, Xiao Yi and the others had already vanished.

”Break.” A cold command echoed from the ground.

A massive sword qi instantly carved through the mountains, followed by flying sword energy reducing the surrounding mountains to powder.

The ground exposed Xiao Yi and the others.

Xiao Yi was unharmed, and Dongfang Wu he protected was unscathed, only Xia Yiming had a slightly disheveled appearance, looking somewhat embarrassed.

In front of the trio, a brawny elder emerged slowly from the pervading dust, a cold smile at the corner of his mouth.

...

Third update.
