Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 2008: Chapter 2008: Why Should I Share Half with You?

Heavenly Mechanism Region.

Within the Heavenly Mechanism Main Hall.

In the study.

The Soul Hall Master and the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master sit facing each other.

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master was the first to open his mouth, asking in confusion, ”Old Man Soul, what brings you here?”

”Am I not welcome?” the Soul Hall Master retorted.

”Not quite,” the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master replied, ”It’s just that you usually love staying in your Soul Hall, and even when you visit me, it’s rare.”

”You’ve come several times this month.”

Before the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master could ask further, the Soul Hall Master took out a dossier.

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master took it and glanced at it, ”Oh? That kid went to the Free Region.”

”I’ve been busy preparing things for him these days, and haven’t had the leisure to pay attention to his situation.”

After a moment, a brilliant light flashed in the eyes of the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master, and his shrewd face was filled with joy.

”Not bad, not bad, becoming the Ghost Hunting King in less than a month’s time.”

”Just the task of killing the traitor Tian Xie is enough for him to surpass any other Ghost Hunter.”

”If I guessed correctly, killing Tian Xie and the Eight Guardians was surely accomplished by relying on the formation skills I taught, which gave him the ability to battle across ranks and achieve such remarkable results.”

”Indeed, impressive.” The Soul Hall Master nodded.

”Leaving aside the talent he’s shown, just these achievements and his performance in less than a month are enough to satisfy anyone greatly.”

”Yes.” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master nodded subconsciously, and then suddenly frowned, ”Wait, what does this have to do with you, Old Man Soul?”

”Why are you investigating information on the Heavenly Talent of my Heavenly Mechanism Hall?”

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master instantly reacted, a trace of vigilance flashing across his face, ”You’ve been watching that kid for the past half month?”

The Soul Hall Master remained silent but clearly admitted it.

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master squinted his eyes, staring at the Soul Hall Master, ”Are you planning to take advantage of this kid?”

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master said this, and suddenly he put away his solemn expression, turning to a relaxed smile, his face full of lightheartedness and ease.

”To be honest, though I don’t want to admit it, I have to admit.”

”In terms of Soul Master talent, the Heavenly Talent of my Heavenly Mechanism Hall, Xiao Xun, is far inferior to the kid you’ve long favored.”

”Why waste more time on Xiao Xun?”

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master teased with a laugh.

The Soul Hall Master squinted his eyes.

Logically speaking, he should deeply trust this old comrade who has been with him for countless years.

But he also knows that his old partner is quite shrewd, even cunning.

Intuition told him that although this old partner was joking and smiling, appearing relaxed and easygoing, in reality, this old partner was completely vigilant and even planning to trick him.

”Heavenly Mechanism, I know what you’re thinking.” The Soul Hall Master said, slightly increasing his tone.

”Sigh.” The Soul Hall Master breathed a slight sigh.

After a pause for several seconds, he then said in a deep voice, ”Originally, I indeed thought Xiao Xun couldn’t compare to the kid I’ve long favored.”

”But, perhaps that’s not certain.”

”What do you mean by not certain?” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master feigned a light laugh, ”Old Man Soul, based on what I know about you, you are always incredibly confident in yourself.”

”And I have always placed immense trust in you.”

”I believe you should trust yourself.”

”Your judgment can never be wrong, the kid you favored initially was indeed extraordinary.”

Listening to the ’sincere’ words of the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master, the Soul Hall Master’s face turned dark.

”Heavenly Mechanism, let me be frank with you.”

”I now have no choice.”

The Soul Hall Master said solemnly, ”The God Slaying Sword has recognized him as its master, which means in the Soul Master profession, he is already invincible.”

”Invincible? That’s far from it.” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master interrupted with a chuckle.

The light laughter attempted to dissipate the solemn expression of the Soul Hall Master.

”Old Man Soul, you are still thinking about last competition, aren’t you?”

”To be honest, that was just the kid catching you off guard.”

”If you were to fight again now, the kid probably wouldn’t even match your finger.”

”That so-called ’invincible’ is simply a joke.”

However, the solemn expression of the Soul Hall Master not only did not dissipate but became even more heavy.

”I’m not joking.”

”At present, he is merely a Peak of Supreme Soul Master, but given time? When he steps into Legend, what about when he reaches my level?”

”The God Slaying Sword is enough to place him above any Soul Master in the world.”

”In this world, any Soul Master before him would be nothing more than a joke.”

The Soul Hall Master slightly softened his tone, ”Over the past half month, I’ve thought a lot.”

”Initially, I did indeed feel resentful, even unwilling. I had prepared for many years for the young man I originally had in mind, only for everything to vanish in just one day, turning into bubbles.”

”But then I thought again, my Soul Hall should indeed be inherited by the one most suitable for it.”

”Xiao Xun is, in fact, not bad to begin with, so why should I be entangled, why be unwilling.”

”Perhaps his appearance is another surprise for me.”

”No no no...” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master waved his hands repeatedly.

The Soul Hall Master interrupted for the first time, ”Heavenly Mechanism, as I said, I have no choice.”

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master was just about to say something.

Beside them, with a rustling sound, a cold figure stepped out from the space.

”Luo.” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master frowned.

”What’s going on, usually for discussions, it’s just the two of us going to your Black Demon Hall.”

”Why are they all coming to my Heavenly Mechanism Hall today?”

The figure was none other than Senior Luo.

Senior Luo, ignoring the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master, looked at the Soul Hall Master indifferently and said, ”The so-called ’no choice,’ perhaps, can turn into ’no need to choose.’”

”Hmm?” The Soul Hall Master was somewhat puzzled.

Senior Luo indifferently said, ”Before you two make any choices, let me tell you some news.”

”Xiao Yi is also a Twin Martial Souls, and it is very likely to be the Fire Control Beast and a sword-type Martial Soul at the peak of purple level.”

”Xiao Yi?” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master frowned, ”Why mention him?”

”Whether he’s a Twin Martial Souls or has any other secrets, he’s already dead.”

The Soul Hall Master pondered for a moment, ”Are you suggesting that Xiao Yi is Xiao Xun, and Xiao Xun is Xiao Yi?”

Senior Luo nodded.

”How’s that possible?” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master looked at Senior Luo without hesitation.

”If I recall correctly, when I suspected Xiao Xun looked quite like that Xiao Yi, it was you who first denied my thought.”

”You said that such matters in this world can’t be hidden from you, Xiao Xun is definitely not Xiao Yi.”

”Do you have evidence?” the Soul Hall Master asked.

Senior Luo shook his head, ”It’s just a guess, but...”

Senior Luo seemed about to say something.

But the gazes of the two Hall Masters had already clashed once again.

”Old Man Soul, trust me,” the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master spoke first.

”Stick to your original intentions, and do not let external matters disturb your decision.”

”Heavenly Mechanism, must I spell it out for you?” The Soul Hall Master already showed a face of anger.

”It’s because I trusted you too much that I made a wrong decision.”

”The so-called low aptitude, poor character, unfit for significant use?”

The Soul Hall Master stood up abruptly, ”If he truly had poor character, would he not even glance at my Heavenly Soul Jade, the Soul Hall’s first treasure?”

”If he truly had low aptitude, would he have swept my Soul Hall’s inheritance clean like a locust plague?”

”If he truly was unfit for great use, would you have given him your Vice Hall Token?”

The Soul Hall Master’s face was already full of anger.

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master shrugged indifferently, ”Say what you like.”

”Anyhow, under my guidance, he will surely become the youngest Legendary Array Master in history and astonish the continent.”

The Soul Hall Master slowly sat down, sneering, ”Or maybe he could be the youngest Legendary Soul Master.”

”A joke.” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master sneered, ”Why should I share half of my successor with you?”

”That’s not up to you.” The Soul Hall Master chuckled, ”The decision lies in the hands of that young man.”

”Moreover, I’ve already issued an urgent Heavenly Mechanism order in your name to call him back.”

”You...” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master was exasperated.

Beside them, Senior Luo’s face was already darkened.

It was clear that these two had no interest in listening to even half of his words.
