Chapter 1631: Chapter 1631: Dragon Flame Backlash

The distant horizon.

A fiery stream of light flies rapidly.

Yet, the fiery stream staggers occasionally, seeming extremely unstable.

The fiery stream is none other than the fleeing Xiao Yi.

”Damn it.” Xiao Yi gritted his teeth.

Beneath the mask, his face is as pale as a ghost.

Blood dripped from the corners of his mouth, gradually soaking most of his clothes.

Earlier, when fleeing, he took two strikes from Long Xiao on his back, clearly sustaining significant injuries.

His cultivation was only the Seventh Layer of Emperor Realm after all.

With his Fire Control Technique, the amplification of Beast Hands and Beast Feet, along with Dragon Flame temporarily serving as the seventh fire fusion, he only managed to possess the strength to battle Long Xiao.

Long Xiao himself is the Supreme 9999 Dao, the foremost below legends.

If adding the power of the territory, Six Dragon Evil Qi, within the territory, he was practically invincible.

Originally, when the Thunder Dragon Evil Qi appeared, Xiao Yi had some confidence, believing he had the power to fight.

It was proven that he could indeed contend with Long Xiao, perhaps even defeat him.

But when the second Dragon-shaped Evil Qi, namely the Wood Evil, appeared, Xiao Yi realized that within the Six Dragon Territory, there was no chance of winning against Long Xiao.

Only then did he understand why it was called Six Dragon Territory.

He further grasped why the Long Family, and its Family Heads across countless generations, remain unchallenged to this day.

Moreover, Long Xiao himself, arrogant and proud to the extreme, seemed to possess unrivaled confidence.

That was merely the second Dragon-shaped Evil Qi.

If all Dragon-shaped Evil Qi within the Six Dragon Territory were unleashed, to what terrifying degree would Long Xiao’s power ascend?

This battle was always destined to be without suspense, naturally leading to Xiao Yi’s escape.

However, the fact that Xiao Yi, a young man who made his name not long ago, could challenge Long Xiao, widely recognized as the strongest below legends on the continent, was quite astounding.

Moreover, the battle occurred within the Six Dragon Territory.

Long Xiao within his own territory was forced to unleash two Dragon Evil Qi, and in the end, could only watch Xiao Yi flee without pursuing.

These few points alone are enough to elevate Xiao Yi’s name to a new height.

Once the story spreads, outsiders might focus less on Xiao Yi losing to Long Xiao, but more on a terrifying Fire Control Demon rising swiftly.

Returning to the main concern.

Xiao Yi fled not just because he couldn’t match Long Xiao, but because his confrontation with Long Xiao was filled with inexplicable causes.

He knew certainly that Long Xiao acted out of anger due to Long Tian’s severe injury and destroyed martial foundation, driven to kill.

But concerning Long Tian, Xiao Yi didn’t believe he caused such grievous harm.

He might have killed, but he wasn’t indiscriminate.

Besides, it was merely a casual toss.

If he couldn’t control his strength or the fire’s power, that seemed absurd.

With his fire control skills, not managing such fire power was laughable.

Hurting or killing someone, an ordinary martial artist could easily manage, let alone Xiao Yi.

The only possibility was some conspiracy.

The most likely cause was the Third Elder, who initially caught Long Tian.

But Xiao Yi had no enmity with the Third Elder, why frame him?

If any animosity existed, it would only be from injuring him days ago within the Dragon Jump Sect.

Such a minor grudge, did it warrant the Third Elder bringing grievous harm to the Young Master of his own family, ruining his martial foundation?

Long Tian’s injuries shouldn’t be falsified; after all, Long Xiao sensed them personally.

With Long Xiao’s level of power, he wouldn’t misread.

So, where lies the problem?

Moreover, how could the Third Elder dare to harm Long Tian?

Xiao Yi truly couldn’t understand.

The only plausible conjecture was that the Third Elder was an Evil Cultivator.

Only then would the Third Elder commit such acts: one, framing him so he couldn’t continue destroying the Evil Cultivation Branch within the Six Dragon Territory; two, directly pitting him against Long Xiao.

Furthermore... Xiao Yi suddenly recalled the bizarre conversation between Long Xiao and the Second Elder at the Five Tigers Sect.

When massacring the Dragon Jump Sect that day, no Evil Cultivation Token remained inside?

The Third Elder was gravely injured by him?

Back then, Xiao Yi, caught in intense emotion since Long Xiao let the Guardian Hu escape, didn’t explore deeply.

Now reflecting upon it, everything seems wrong.

If his suspicion held true and the Third Elder was an Evil Cultivator, all would be logical.

But... Xiao Yi didn’t accept this point.

If the Third Elder was an Evil Cultivator, he would have discovered it already.

Xiao Yi had encountered the Third Elder many times.

His Taiyin and Taiyang Eyes, observing heaven and earth, precisely discern all Evil Cultivators’ locations within the territory.

Yet he couldn’t identify their identities from these evil presences.

In his Heaven and Earth Perception, Evil Cultivators were mere black auras.

Therefore, through these black auras, he could pinpoint Evil Cultivators’ positions, but couldn’t identify which belonged to the Poison Robe.

Consequently, he didn’t know where the Poison Robe was or the identities of these Evil Cultivators.

Nonetheless, in a face-to-face encounter, whether they were Evil Cultivators couldn’t be concealed from Xiao Yi.

Throughout his interactions with the Third Elder, he didn’t find the Third Elder to be an Evil Cultivator.

All of this seems like a dead end.

If the Third Elder isn’t an Evil Cultivator, why commit such acts?

Prior events made no sense.

If the Third Elder is an Evil Cultivator, it couldn’t escape Xiao Yi’s detection.

The affair, no matter what, remains inconceivable.

”Ugh.” Xiao Yi while speeding and contemplating, suddenly coughed blood, disrupting all thoughts.

The blood sprayed, evaporating instantly in the air.

On closer view, Xiao Yi was surrounded by intense heat.

The surrounding air constantly twisted and evaporated in the heat waves...

While Xiao Yi’s body turned boiling red.

His skin, unbearably hot, internally, a consuming fire wreaking havoc, a painful sense as if a flame were erupting within.

In fact, the primary reason for Xiao Yi’s escape wasn’t anything else but the backlash from the Dragon Flame within him, reaching its limit.

Dragon Flame, beyond human capability to control and harness.

Forcing control would result in terrifying backlash.

”My hand...” Xiao Yi glanced at his hand, his pupils suddenly shrinking.

His two Beast Hands had receded.

His own hands now burning red.

It no longer resembled a human hand but more like a glowing piece of iron.

Most importantly, it seemed to be extracted from a furnace.

At present, it seemed on the verge of melting.

”Ugh...” Xiao Yi clenched his teeth.

The painful sensation in his hands gradually spread throughout his body.

His whole body was heating up, as if about to melt.

...

Second update.
