Chapter 1601: Chapter 1601: Strange Spider Silk

Xiao Yi’s hand moved uncontrollably.

”What’s going on?” Xiao Yi narrowed his eyes, secretly astonished.

”Huh? It’s spider silk.”

With a cold gaze, Xiao Yi suddenly saw several fine white threads, almost invisible to the naked eye, winding around his arm.

”When did this happen?”

Xiao Yi felt secretly horrified.

When did Poison Robe manage to entwine the spider silk around his arm?

”It was then...” Almost instantly, Xiao Yi realized.

It was precisely the moment his gaze shifted from Poison Robe, when he scattered layers of poisonous mist in the sky with the Purple Flame Wandering Dragon, allowing the group from Heavenly Hidden Academy to leave.

”Damn it, such strength.” Xiao Yi clenched his fist, trying to resist.

His entire arm trembled violently.

Yet, in the end, his arm still uncontrollably moved closer to his eyes, reaching for the mask.

Pa...

Xiao Yi’s other hand suddenly grabbed his arm.

”Hmm?” Poison Robe squinted his eyes from a dozen steps away.

”Some skills, at least quite strong,” he said.

Ssss...

In the air, a hissing sound.

Several strands of spider silk silently wrapped around Xiao Yi’s other arm.

Xiao Yi was now bound on both hands.

”Take it off.” Poison Robe’s tone remained light.

”I want to see what face this young man, daring to challenge the Evil Lord Mansion, has.” Poison Robe’s hand slightly stretched out from the Black Robe.

Dried yet slender fingers moved gently.

Xiao Yi’s hand became increasingly uncontrollable, reaching for the mask.

Boom...

A burst of flame gathered.

Xiao Yi tried to gather fire to burn these spider threads.

However, with a puff sound.

The newly condensed flame instantly dissipated.

”My Primordial Power...” Xiao Yi was startled again.

Gathering fire requires expending Primordial Power.

But just now, his internal Primordial Power and his own control were suddenly disconnected.

”Heh.” Poison Robe moved his fingers again, ”Do you think my spider silk can only control your body?”

”No, your body, mind, Primordial Power, everything is under my control.”

”You can’t mobilize an ounce of Primordial Power.”

”Obediently take off the mask. Once I see your face, I will send you to the Netherworld, wouldn’t it be liberation?”

”Such strong control.” Xiao Yi felt secretly horrified.

He found that all his Primordial Power could not be mobilized at all.

Though his hand was on the mask, Xiao Yi’s hand still trembled violently, struggling.

Whether to take off the mask was a separate matter.

But he would never allow himself to be uncontrollably manipulated like a puppet.

”It’s useless, why struggle?” Poison Robe sneered.

Xiao Yi ignored him, instantly introspecting into his body.

Indeed, the Small World had, at some unknown time, appeared with several tiny spider threads, interwoven within his Qi Spring Elemental Power.

It was these threads’ interweaving that rendered his Qi Spring’s Primordial Power immobile.

Boom...

Xiao Yi gathered another flame in his hand.

”I’m not interested in seeing you do meaningless things.” Poison Robe’s hand moved lightly again.

The flame in Xiao Yi’s hand vanished slowly.

But just then, Xiao Yi’s Qi Spring Elemental Power suddenly twisted fiercely.

Under the twist, it forcibly transformed into a vortex, surging endlessly.

The spider threads within the Qi Spring were instantly twisted into pieces under this vortex, resembling reincarnation.

Boom...

Xiao Yi regained control of his Primordial Power, and the flame in his hand burst explosively.

Under the loud explosion, a huge flame erupted.

The astonishing impact force heavily blasted Xiao Yi’s body backward.

Normally, this impact would have been sufficient to blow Xiao Yi dozens of meters away.

But Xiao Yi’s arm was still wrapped in spider silk.

Hence, his body was blasted back, but his arm remained entangled.

His body was merely blown back a few steps before abruptly halting under the arm’s pull.

But consequently, Xiao Yi’s hand completely left the mask’s range.

”Cough cough.” Xiao Yi couldn’t help but cough twice.

The flame had exploded near his face, leaving him in a soot-covered state.

The mask’s forehead and hair were charred.

Xiao Yi hadn’t expected to be so miserable in just a brief encounter with Poison Robe.

But that’s as far as it went.

Allowing himself to be controlled, voluntarily taking off the mask? It was impossible.

Crack crack...

Xiao Yi’s fist clenched with loud pops.

The spider threads in his Qi Spring had been shredded.

But the spider threads on his hands remained wrapped around them.

Xiao Yi tried to forcibly break free, but with his physical strength and fist power, he couldn’t.

Boom... Boom...

Two bursts of flame erupted from his palms, then spread along the entire arm.

The terrifying Purple Crystal Spirit Flame instantly burned on the silk.

Yet, the threads showed no sign of burning off.

No, they did, but the process was slow.

Xiao Yi frowned.

Purple Crystal Spirit Flame possesses the power to destroy everything with nothing able to resist.

Typically in such cases, it signifies either that the material itself holds immense power, being extremely strange and hard to burn off.

Or, the enemy wielding such methods is considerably stronger in prowess and cultivation.

Yes, two possibilities.

But Xiao Yi leaned more towards both possibilities existing together.

Poison Robe’s cultivation, prowess, and methods were disturbingly strong.

”If I can’t burn off your spider silk, I’ll let you release it yourself,” Xiao Yi’s eyes turned cold.

His arm shook, and the Purple Crystal Spirit Flame swiftly extended along the threads.

With the speed of Purple Flame, following the spider threads, it traced through the air along a line of fire, instantly reaching Poison Robe’s hand.

Boom...

The flame exploded instantly.

Yet Poison Robe didn’t withdraw his hand; instead, black energy surged from his palm.

Layers of poisonous mist engaged with the Purple Flame.

Which meant, before these black mist and poison had been completely burnt away, the Purple Crystal Spirit Flame had no chance to burn his hand.

Zz zz zz...

In the air, on the thread, a series of sharp piercing zizz sounds.

”Surprising you can burn my poisonous mist; truly worthy of the Purple Crystal Spirit Flame with the power to destroy all,” Poison Robe chuckled lightly, moving his fingers again.

Xiao Yi’s hand rose, uncontrollably once more.

”Damn it,” Xiao Yi gritted his teeth.

The exchange between the two actually began a long time ago.

Only, Poison Robe hadn’t made any movements, merely standing casually and moving his fingers.

Whereas Xiao Yi had almost used all methods, becoming utterly disheveled.

The two were completely on different levels.

The bizarre spider silk remained unaffected amidst the Purple Crystal Spirit Flame’s burning.

Suddenly.

Clang...

A clear clanging sound resonated in the air.

Not the sound of a sword, but a crisp snapping sound.

In the air, a faint white line unexpectedly flew high.

The spider silk entwining Xiao Yi’s left hand broke.

His arm and hand had transformed at some unknown point.

They became pitch-black, covered in scale armor.

It was a menacing Beast Hand.

Clang... In the air, another crisp snapping sound.

Xiao Yi’s left hand extended, sharp beast claws gently slicing.

In the air, a chilling gleam flashed.

The spider silk on his right hand instantly snapped.

...

Second update.
