Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 1470: Chapter 1470: Clash of the Two Schools

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

Xiao Yi stopped his training, opened his eyes, and a sharp gleam shot out from them.

For three days, he had been entirely focused on cultivating Sword Power.

He had to admit, ever since the Fire Control Beast advanced to the Purple Rank, its capabilities had become much stronger.

The speed at which Sword Power was cultivated was also extremely fast.

Now, the Sword Power cultivated within him was enough to support him in battle for a long time.

If he were to encounter the Six Sword Guards now, not one of them would escape.

A satisfied smile flashed across Xiao Yi’s face.

”The Sword Domain event should be starting soon.”

Xiao Yi muttered to himself.

With a whoosh... his figure flickered, and he rapidly soared through the air.

To avoid any delay, Xiao Yi used a bit of Sword Power to augment his speed.

Sword Power is indeed a very peculiar force.

Swordmen in the Sword Domain often use it to fight across levels.

Just like Uncle Ding back then, despite only having the Eighth Layer of the Saint King Realm cultivation, he easily killed the Overlord Black Leopard, a Ninth Layer demon beast.

It’s known that when martial artists face demon beasts, they are usually at a disadvantage.

After all, demon beasts have powerful bodies.

In the same tier, a martial artist can only kill a demon beast through Martial Techniques.

But Uncle Ding, despite being one layer lower in cultivation, was able to transcend a whole layer of power thanks to the augmentation of Sword Power, and instantly killed the Overlord Black Leopard.

This demonstrates the powerful effect of Sword Power.

This was also why Xiao Yi had previously been unable to deal with the Six Sword Guards without the support of Sword Power.

In the Sword Domain, having Sword Power and not having Sword Power are worlds apart.

Swordmen within the Sword Domain naturally have an advantage.

Now, Xiao Yi only used some Sword Power to increase his speed.

Half a day later.

”Here we are, at Ten Thousand Sword City,” Xiao Yi looked at the distant massive, dark city and muttered to himself.

That massive city greatly resembled a Heavenly Shocking Sword.

Above the city, a remarkable Sword Intent swirled into a gigantic vortex.

”Where is the Ten Thousand Sword Stele Forest?” Xiao Yi frowned slightly.

The Ten Thousand Sword Stele Forest is located within Ten Thousand Sword City.

But as to where exactly, Xiao Yi still needed to land in the city and inquire.

At this moment.

A Cloud Sword Qi shot up from afar.

”It’s Elder Yun Yuan’s Sword Qi.” Xiao Yi’s expression brightened.

With a whoosh... his figure flickered, and he sped through the air.

Within minutes, Xiao Yi landed in a dense forest.

All around, sword cultivators had already gathered.

”You troublesome lad, finally here.” Elder Yun Yuan lightly scolded.

With a whoosh... Xiao Yi flickered over to Elder Yun Yuan’s side.

”Looks like I’m not late.” Xiao Yi smiled.

This dense forest was the Ten Thousand Sword Stele Forest.

However, it was not inside Ten Thousand Sword City; rather, it was not far outside the city.

Elder Yun Yuan had clearly sensed Xiao Yi’s presence, hence released Sword Qi to guide him directly here.

Yet, almost the instant Xiao Yi landed.

The surrounding sword cultivators’ gazes all focused on him.

However, those gazes were mostly filled with mockery, derision, and even hostility.

”Isn’t that Xiao Yi, the little thief?” soft discussions suddenly emerged.

”Tsk tsk, that disgrace to his masters, does he even dare show his face?”

”Don’t you know? That little thief is shameless and unscrupulous to achieve his goals, he cares little about reputation.”

”...”

Xiao Yi frowned slightly.

”What, do you all enjoy staring at an old man?”

Suddenly, a cold voice rang out.

A gaze swept around the surroundings.

Instantly, all gazes retracted.

The whispering ceased entirely.

”Thank you, Senior Hui.” Xiao Yi glanced at Hui Deacon and expressed his gratitude.

The voice just now was naturally from Hui Deacon.

The once Killing God of the Central Region, just a look was enough to silence these unruly whispers around them.

Elder Yun Yuan and Hui Deacon seemed to have been here for some time.

”Hmph.” Elder Yun Yuan snorted coldly, ”Ignore them, did you see that?”

”It wasn’t me badmouthing this kid behind his back.”

”Now this kid doesn’t even greet us as elder or deacon.”

”Uhh.” Xiao Yi smiled bitterly, not expecting Elder Yun Yuan to tease him again using the term ’senior’.

Hui Deacon waved it off, smiling lightly, ”No worries, it’s normal for young people to have some character.”

”He can call us whatever he wants.”

”As long as Xiao Yi remains Xiao Yi, I will acknowledge him as an academic disciple.”

As long as Xiao Yi remains Xiao Yi, it sounded a bit awkward.

But Xiao Yi actually understood the intent behind it.

”Thank you, Senior Hui.” Xiao Yi said earnestly.

”Forget it, I’m not bothered with it either.” Elder Yun Yuan shook his head.

Clang... clang... clang...

At that moment, sounds of clashing and bursts of Primordial Power echoed.

Xiao Yi looked toward the sound and saw a massive Martial Arts Arena, surrounded by sword cultivators.

On the Martial Arts Arena, two sword cultivators were dueling.

”Oh? Has the event begun?” Xiao Yi asked puzzledly, ”Do we also need to compete on stage?”

Elder Yun Yuan shook his head, ”No need.”

”Look closer, the two fighting are disciples from the Qi Sect and the Artifact Sect.”

Xiao Yi looked and frowned.

Among the two on the stage, he recognized one, it was Ding Qiuyue, that girl.

As for the other person, he didn’t know, it was a young man about 20 years old, presumably a disciple of the Qi Sect.

The Ding Family Manor, after all, was a force of the Artifact Sect.

At this point, Elder Yun Yuan said, ”Every time before the main event, there’s always a conflict between the Qi Sect and the Artifact Sect.”

”This rule has persisted in the Sword Domain for countless years.”

”That is their contest, it doesn’t concern us outside martial artists.”

”We need only wait for the event to start and participate directly.”

Xiao Yi nodded.

He remembered that Elder Yun Yuan had mentioned before, going to the Sword Domain event didn’t require any competition or fighting.

However, the duel on the Martial Arts Arena made Xiao Yi frown.

”Why does their application of Sword Power feel a bit strange to me?”

On the Martial Arts Arena, Ding Qiuyue’s sword emitted a white light with astonishing power.

While the other person’s sword seemed ordinary, the Sword Qi and Sword Skills he unleashed contained a white light with formidable momentum.

Elder Yun Yuan glanced and said, ”This is the difference between the Qi Sect and the Artifact Sect.”

”Qi Sect cultivates Sword Power from Primordial Power; their Sword Power can only enhance Primordial Power and Martial Techniques.”

”Artifact Sect cultivates Sword Power through the physical body; their Sword Power can enhance the physical body and the sword in hand.”

”Oh? There’s such a distinction?” Xiao Yi was surprised; this was the first time he learned of this distinction.

”Of course.” Elder Yun Yuan replied, ”Different parts of a martial artist’s body produce different Sword Power, this is common knowledge.”

”In the Artifact Sect, Sword Power can inherently enhance the physical body, making it exceptionally strong.”

”As for the Qi Sect, Sword Power, although it enhances Primordial Power, Primordial Power can also allow the martial artist to exhibit extraordinary power.”

”Hence, purely from a basic combat strength perspective, there is no difference between the two.”

”The real difference between the two lies in the sword and Sword Skills; the so-called conflict between the Qi Sect and the Artifact Sect is perhaps also an argument over which, sword or Sword Skills, is more important to a martial artist.”

Hearing this, Xiao Yi frowned even more.

His Sword Power didn’t have such distinctions; whether it was for Sword Skills or on the sword, there was no issue at all.

”Is there a type of Sword Power that can be entirely applied to the body, Primordial Power, or on the sword and Martial Techniques?” Xiao Yi asked with a frown.

Elder Yun Yuan nodded without hesitation, ”Of course, there’s also a unique type of Sword Power called Soul Sword Power, cultivated from the Martial Soul.”

”However, it’s only the descendants of the Sword Emperor’s lineage, those with the Sword Emperor Bloodline, who can cultivate it.”

”Why are you asking this?”
