Chapter 703: Chapter 703: Fengxu Secret Realm

The following day, Xiao Yi and Du Youyou went to the Royal Palace.

This time, the soldiers outside the Royal Palace did not stop them.

They went straight to the Fengxu Palace, with unhindered access all the way.

Along the way, the soldiers and maidservants they encountered all offered respectful greetings.

Clearly, Princess Fengxu had already given her orders.

Upon arriving at the Fengxu Palace, they pushed the door open and entered.

Princess Fengxu was clearly delighted to see the two of them and said, ”Young Master Xiao Yi.”

Xiao Yi nodded.

Du Youyou immediately gave a respectful greeting and said, ”I pay my respects to Princess Fengxu.”

Admiration filled Du Youyou’s eyes.

”Little sister Youyou, please, no need for such formalities,” Princess Fengxu hurriedly stepped forward and affectionately helped Du Youyou up.

Princess Fengxu’s figure was graceful as she turned around, her eyes, like pools of water, looked at Xiao Yi and said, ”Young Master Xiao Yi, I still have to oversee the Fengxu Medicinal Contest.”

”I’m afraid I must trouble Young Master Xiao Yi to wait here for a while.”

”Um,” Xiao Yi nodded.

Princess Fengxu showed a face full of apology and added, ”If Young Master Xiao Yi finds the wait tedious, feel free to walk around.”

”There are still quite a few beautiful spots within the Fengxu Royal Palace.”

”I will order the maidservants and soldiers to step aside so as not to disturb Young Master Xiao Yi’s refined taste.”

Xiao Yi shook his head and said, ”No need. I will wait here.”

”I happen to need to guide my unworthy student in her cultivation.”

”Who are you calling ’unworthy student’?” Du Youyou glared at Xiao Yi discontentedly.

Princess Fengxu chuckled and turned to leave.

Before long, the vast Fengxu Palace was left with only Xiao Yi and Du Youyou.

Yesterday, after Xiao Yi rescued Du Youyou from the Wind Dance Sword Sect,

Although Du Youyou’s injuries were quite serious, Xiao Yi had stabilized her condition earlier.

After returning to the inn and receiving a bit of recuperation, it wasn’t a difficult task given Xiao Yi’s abilities as an Alchemist.

In just one night, Du Youyou’s injuries had largely healed.

As for Du Youyou, having suffered yesterday, she woke up today and regained her usual lively nature.

That certainly relieved Xiao Yi.

”Xiao Yi,” Du Youyou said, ”I want to accompany Princess Fengxu to the Medicinal Contest.”

”Princess Fengxu must not be far away, I...”

”Sit down,” Xiao Yi scolded.

”Master,” Du Youyou cooed pleadingly.

”Sit cross-legged and begin practicing,” Xiao Yi emphasized sternly.

”Oh,” Du Youyou, seeing Xiao Yi getting upset, reluctantly sat down.

Xiao Yi’s expression serious, he said in a deep voice, ”For a Martial Artist, cultivation must always be the priority.”

”Remember, strength is everything.”

”The Medicinal Contest won’t end so soon, and Princess Fengxu won’t return so quickly.”

”Today, I will first guide you in Martial Arts training, and afterward, in alchemy practice.”

”I understand,” Du Youyou pouted.

Du Youyou sat cross-legged in meditation, closing her eyes, contemplating the Cultivation Technique in her mind.

Beside her, Xiao Yi let go of the seriousness from his face and sighed helplessly.

He had decided not to participate in the Fengxu Medicinal Contest.

After all, the Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures offered as rewards held no appeal to him.

And there was no need for Du Youyou to go either.

After all, even though it was called the Kingdom-wide Medicinal Contest, it was really just a competition among young talents, not highly regarded nor of high standards.

With that time, it was better for Xiao Yi to instruct Du Youyou himself.

Time gradually passed.

...

It wasn’t until the afternoon that Princess Fengxu returned to Fengxu Palace.

”Young Master Xiao Yi,” Princess Fengxu called out slowly.

”Um,” Xiao Yi nodded.

”Young Master Xiao Yi and Lady Youyou, please follow me,” Princess Fengxu said politely.

...

Before long, the two followed Princess Fengxu to the depths of the Royal Palace.

There, ten young talents were already waiting.

”Greetings, Princess.” Ten people bowed to Princess Fengxu.

”You all need not be overly courteous,” Princess Fengxu kindly said.

”Young Master Xiao Yi, these ten Heavenly Talents are the top ten victors of this competition,” Princess Fengxu told Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi nodded his head.

Among the ten people, he recognized only one, who was Zhang Xinghuo from Fenghua County.

The other nine were all strangers to him.

However, among them was a young man with a haughty face, casting a hostile glance at him.

Xiao Yi had no interest in dealing with him and said, ”Princess Fengxu, let’s discuss the important matters.”

”All right,” Princess Fengxu nodded and replied, ”The Secret Realm is located behind the Royal Ancestral Hall of our Royal Family. Please follow me.”

”Wait.” Just then, a dissatisfied voice rang out.

”Princess, if I recall correctly, these two did not participate in the Alchemist competition,”

”What qualifies them to enter the Secret Realm?”

The speaker was the arrogant young man from before.

Princess Fengxu frowned and said, ”Li Hao, Young Master Xiao Yi and Miss Youyou need not participate in the Alchemist competition.”

”How is that acceptable?” Li Hao angrily said, ”We Heavenly Talents have gone through numerous trials to obtain a spot in the top ten of the Alchemist competition, earning the right to enter the Secret Realm.”

”Are these two merely allowed to enter directly based on their familiarity with the Princess?”

The haughty young man was named Li Hao.

As for Li Hao, he was considered the foremost talent in Fengxu Kingdom besides Princess Fengxu herself,

And one of the most outstanding young elites in the Royal Capital.

He was exceptional in both Martial Arts and refining, a dual prodigy.

The Li Family was the leading power in the Royal Capital apart from the Royal Family.

”Li Hao,” Princess Fengxu’s face grew cold, ”The Secret Realm belongs to my Fengxu Royal Family.”

”If you think it’s unfair, you’re free to leave,”

”And if you speak out of turn to Young Master Xiao Yi and Miss Youyou again, don’t blame me for being impolite.”

”Princess, you...” Li Hao’s face turned cold.

Princess Fengxu did not pay him any more attention and continued to lead the way.

Xiao Yi and Du Youyou followed.

As they passed by Li Hao, there was a slap.

Li Hao abruptly caught Xiao Yi’s arm, his eyes unkindly fixed on him, ”Boy, I don’t care who you are, you better be smart about this.”

”If you dare harbor any improper thoughts toward Princess Fengxu, I’ll take your life.”

”As a Seventh-level Wind Master, I could erase you from this world with just one word.”

Xiao Yi’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, his arm shook, and he easily broke free from Li Hao’s grasp.

He was not interested in dealing with such an idle person.

Dozens of meters away, Princess Fengxu stopped in her tracks and with a sweep of her arm,

An imposing barrier appeared out of thin air.

An Ancient aura assaulted them, causing even Xiao Yi to waver slightly.

”This is an Ancient Barrier, such a formidable presence,” Xiao Yi was inwardly shocked.

At that moment, Princess Fengxu lightly summoned a Wind Blade and then drew a bloody line on her arm.

On her arm, as white as congealed cream, blood began flowing immediately.

”Princess,” everyone was startled.

Du Youyou almost wanted to step forward to treat her.

”There’s no need for concern,” Princess Fengxu smiled.

She looked around at everyone’s expressions, gesturing they need not worry.

However, when she looked at Xiao Yi, she found his expression cold and detached from beginning to end,

He hadn’t even glanced at her bleeding arm.

”Hmph,” Du Youyou glared disapprovingly at Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi ignored it.

At that moment, Princess Fengxu said, ”The Secret Realm belongs to my Fengxu Royal Family.”

”Only those of Fengxu Royal Bloodline can enter.”

As she spoke, Princess Fengxu waved her arm.

The blood from her arm formed twelve droplets, floating before everyone.

”By the scent of my blood, you will be able to enter the Secret Realm safely,” she said.

Leading by example, Princess Fengxu stepped into the barrier and disappeared from everyone’s sight.
