Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 644: Chapter 644: Search Mission

On the East Sea Coast, above the endless Black Sea, the black poisonous seawater churned ceaselessly.

However, compared to the past when waves towered and surged, it was much calmer now.

The East Sea Fortress was hosting a celebration banquet.

The banquet spread from inside the fortress right up to the Heavenly Gold City Wall, and even out to the flat land ten miles beyond.

The Abyssal Beast Tide had ended, the Abyss Demon Emperor and the Ten Great Demon Kings were all dead.

Millions of strong people at the fortress were celebrating the end of the battle.

It’s true that many Martial Artists had died at the fortress.

But the dead are gone, and at the celebration banquet, millions of Human Martial Artists were not rejoicing simply because they survived the great battle.

Every Martial Artist who came to the fortress had been prepared to die.

What was celebrated was that the East Sea Fortress had once again secured a century of peace for a hundred billion human lives.

No, after this time, the period of peace will be even longer.

On the side of the Flame Martial Fortress.

The Divine Martial King, Hall Masters, all the Commanders, and the Main Hall Master gathered together.

Martial Artists from various Kingdoms, young generations of Heavenly Talents, all were present in the banquet.

Only, it seemed that there was one person missing from the Sky-splitting Sword Sect’s seating area.

”Hmm? Where’s Xiao Yi?” A woman looked around and noticed that Xiao Yi was missing.

”Junior Brother Xiao Yi?” Ye Ming was the first to react, looking around as well.

Everywhere around them, people were toasting and the atmosphere was extraordinary.

No one noticed the confusion on the two of them.

”Senior, I’ll go look for him,” Ye Ming said, about to stand up.

The woman shook her head and said, ”Sit down. Don’t disturb the joy of the banquet.”

”I’ll go find him, I think I know where he is.”

With that, the woman’s figure flashed and she disappeared silently from her spot.

...

Outside of a secluded residence within the fortress.

Xiao Yi was standing quietly.

In the residence behind him, the Flame Martial King and Bai Mohan were being held captive.

Whoosh—suddenly, there was a surge of air beside him, and a figure in white appeared out of nowhere.

”Senior,” Xiao Yi glanced at the newcomer and gave a slight bow.

”Indeed you are here,” the woman chuckled softly, ”not even attending the banquet.”

”What, are you afraid that these two will escape, and you’re especially watching over this place?”

Xiao Yi shook his head and said with a faint smile, ”No, at the East Sea Fortress, there is a gathering of powerhouses; those two can’t escape.”

”Then why aren’t you attending the banquet?” the woman asked, puzzled.

”Afraid of awkwardness,” Xiao Yi responded softly.

”Awkwardness?” the woman raised an eyebrow.

Xiao Yi nodded and said, ”Yes, the Divine Martial King is extremely good to me.”

”But I, have no choice but to deal with the Flame Martial King.”

These two were Elder Yi’s enemies, Xiao Yi’s targets to be killed.

However, the Flame Martial King after all was a blood relative of the Divine Martial King.

”So that’s how it is,” the woman realized, then chuckled softly again.

”I thought you had some serious reason for not attending the banquet. It turns out to be such a trivial matter.”

”The Divine Martial King and Flame Martial King are separated by so many generations, their bloodline connection has long since thinned out, it’s just that layer of relationship.”

”Moreover, do you know to what extent the entire Flame Martial Royal Family is vast?”

”And how many are there among the Royal Family members?”

”The Divine Martial King has no fewer than a hundred descendents from his great-great-grandsons’ generation.”

”To him, whoever has the ability takes the position of the King, ruling the Flame Martial Kingdom well, that’s all.”

”He won’t take issue with you.”

”Not to mention that you are his successor, one of the future hopes of the entire East Sea Fortress.”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Yi nodded and breathed a slight sigh of relief.

The elderly who had been exceptionally kind to him were few, and he cherished each one.

”Let’s go, follow me back,” the woman said.

”No thanks,” Xiao Yi shook his head, ”I’ll just stay here.”

”After the banquet is over, I’ll leave the fortress with everybody else.”

”Are you really leaving without staying behind?” the woman asked seriously.

Xiao Yi shook his head and said, ”No, I have things to do outside.”

”What things?” the woman asked curiously, ”that would make you give up the prime cultivation time inside the East Sea Fortress.”

Xiao Yi’s expression remained calm, and he replied with a light smile, ”Firstly, there’s Elder Yi’s matter.”

”Secondly, I need to find someone.”

”Find someone?” the woman frowned.

She knew about junior brother Tianxing’s matter.

But she wasn’t clear about the searching for someone.

”If I remember correctly, you once patrolled various counties while serving as a Flame Martial Guard,” the woman suddenly said.

”Moreover, you always love to wander around, running everywhere.”

Xiao Yi nodded and said, ”Over the years, I have roamed almost the entire Flame Martial Kingdom, yet there has been no news.”

”By the way, senior, have you ever heard of the Holy Moon Sect?”

”Holy Moon Sect?” The woman thought for a moment, then shook her head.

”I’ve never heard of it.”

”Is it a small sect?”

”I’m not sure,” Xiao Yi responded, ”I only know the name, but logically, it shouldn’t be too bad.”

”Really?” The woman paused to think again.

”The Sixteen Flame Dragon Countries are vast and boundless, not to mention the territories of the sixteen countries themselves, but places as treacherous as the ’Extreme Cold Land’ alone number in the dozens.”

”Additionally, there are many regions between the countries that don’t connect, as well as many secluded places rarely visited by people.”

”With such a vast territory, no one dares claim they have set foot in every place.”

”Perhaps there are some powerful forces that are not well-known.”

Xiao Yi nodded in agreement.

The woman suddenly said, ”If you are looking for someone, why not go to the Demon Hunting Hall and post a search task?”

”Demon Hunters are scattered in every corner of the continent.”

”No one can gather information more broadly or more rapidly than they do.”

”Oh?” Xiao Yi’s eyes lit up.

The next second, he bowed to the woman.

The woman asked in confusion, ”What are you doing?”

Xiao Yi smiled and said, ”I would like to ask senior to help me post a search task at the Demon Hunting Hall after returning to the Royal Capital.”

”Why don’t you post it yourself?” the woman asked.

Xiao Yi replied with a smile, ”Senior, your reputation is well-known; if you post the task, the Demon Hunters will put in much more effort.”

”Don’t try to flatter me,” the woman frowned and said, ”Based on what I know of you, you never delegate things you can do yourself, much less ask for help.”

”A mere search task that you’re asking me to post proves... you’re not going back to the Royal Capital.”

”Ah,” Xiao Yi chuckled awkwardly, his intent guessed by the woman.

”Indeed, I’m not going back to the Royal Capital, not for the short term at least.”

”Where are you going then?” the woman frowned, but after a moment, she shook her head.

”Never mind, I don’t want to ask; so it’s a search task, right? I’ll help you post it when I return to the Royal Capital.”

”Thank you, senior,” Xiao Yi said with a smile, ”In a bit, I’ll provide you with a sketch of the person I’m looking for.”

The woman nodded, and a flash of light in her hand revealed a Universe Ring.

”This is your reward for the efforts against the Beast Tide from the fortress.”

”There are disciples from the Sword Sect at the banquet, and I must return.”

Xiao Yi nodded and accepted the Universe Ring.

The woman’s figure flashed, and she turned and left.
