Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 475: Chapter 475: High Altitude Forbidden Land

Ice Snow City is the last major city on the northern border of the Flame Martial Kingdom.

It is not the county seat of Ice and Snow County.

It is merely because it is beside the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain.

At this time, Xiao Yi and Bai Bingxue had already arrived at the base of the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain.

”It’s so cold.” Bai Bingxue frowned.

Standing at the bottom of the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain, the two could clearly feel a chill that was more than ten times stronger than before.

Xiao Yi glanced at the towering snow mountain and took a sharp breath.

When they had been controlling the air and flying outside several major cities earlier, they could already see this snow mountain from a distance.

Even then, despite the huge distance, the snow mountain still looked immensely large in their eyes.

Now that they were up close, the snow mountain’s enormity completely exceeded their imagination.

The peak that could not be seen with the naked eye pierced the clouds.

The ends of the mountain seemed like a great white wall, separating two worlds.

According to information purchased from the Demon Hunting Hall, the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain is the boundary of the Flame Martial Kingdom at its northernmost edge.

It spans across the very edge of Ice and Snow County and is naturally immensely huge.

”Let’s go up.” Xiao Yi said indifferently and took the lead.

Bai Bingxue quickly followed.

As the two leaped continuously upwards, the higher they went, the more terrifying the cold became.

Even before they reached halfway up the mountain, they were already surrounded by wind and snow, and the piercing cold wind hit their faces.

Before long,

when the two arrived at the halfway point on the mountain, the chill penetrated their bones.

Without Cultivation at or beyond the Earth Origin Realm, it would be absolutely impossible to stand safely.

The violent Gang Wind alone could make it difficult for people to take a single step.

They continued to move forward.

When they reached a position higher up from the halfway point,

Bai Bingxue was already frowning deeply.

”Can you endure it?” Xiao Yi asked indifferently.

”No big problem,” Bai Bingxue said coolly, ”I estimate that we won’t have to go much further before we will need to start using some Primordial Power to protect ourselves.”

”With my Cultivation, if I use all my strength, reaching the peak will not be a problem.

The Ice and Snow Holy Sect is located at the peak of the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain.

Xiao Yi nodded and continued forward.

According to information from the Demon Hunting Hall,

the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain is situated at the edge of the Extreme Cold Land.

It borders right against the Flame Martial Kingdom and has been incorporated into the territory of the kingdom.

Logically speaking, the edge should not be too cold.

But, for some reason, the coldness of this majestic snow mountain is more severe than actually stepping into the Extreme Cold Land.

There are rumors that below the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain lies the Snow Vein Land.

But whether this is true or not, nobody knows.

At least the Demon Hunting Hall here doesn’t have detailed information, nor can they make it clear.

But I digress.

The two were racing forward.

Just at that moment, two figures suddenly appeared from within the wind and snow.

”Who goes there? How dare you intrude upon the Ice and Snow Holy Sect?” Two men in white fur coats shouted coldly.

”We are disciples of the Sky-splitting Sword Sect,” Bai Bingxue said coolly.

”Disciples of the Sky-splitting Sword Sect?” The two men frowned and asked, ”Do you have any proof?”

Xiao Yi took out the Northern Mountain Sword Master’s Token.

The two men looked at it and said, ”The Sword Master’s Token.”

Then, they looked at each other, one of them turned and left.

The remaining one bowed to Xiao Yi and Bai Bingxue and said, ”So you are disciples of the Sword Sect.”

”Please wait here for a moment, we need to report to the Deacon at the mountain gate.”

Xiao Yi nodded his head.

Shortly after,

a middle-aged man in white suddenly appeared out of thin air.

”May I trouble you to show the Sword Master’s Token once again?” the middle-aged man said.

Xiao Yi showed it once more.

The middle-aged man nodded and said, ”Indeed, it is the Sword Master’s Token.”

”Both of you must be intending to go to the Extreme Cold Land to participate in the Ice Edge Conference,” he continued.

”That is correct,” Xiao Yi nodded in response.

The middle-aged man smiled and said, ”Truly worthy of being a disciple representing the Sword Sect in the Ice Edge Conference.”

”Daring to go alone without the guidance of Sect elders.”

”You must be one of the distinguished heavenly talents of your Sect.”

”Come, follow me to the summit.”

Saying this, the middle-aged man took the lead.

Strangely, as the middle-aged man led the way, the surrounding snow and wind seemed to automatically part several meters away from them.

The fierce Gang Wind and snowstorm no longer troubled Xiao Yi and his companion.

Xiao Yi perceived that this middle-aged man, a Sect Deacon, only possessed cultivation at the Earth Element Fifth Stage.

If he guessed correctly, the man must be from the Ice and Snow Holy Sect and had mastered an extremely superb method of controlling the snow and wind.

It was only logical.

After all, the Ice and Snow Holy Sect had been situated in the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain for hundreds of years.

Naturally, they had strong individuals within the Sect who had developed such techniques to facilitate the entrance and exit to and from the Holy Mountain for the disciples and deacons.

Before long, the Sect Deacon stopped leading the way.

Xiao Yi frowned slightly; this place was only about two-thirds of the way up the Snow Mountain.

There was still a sizable distance to reach the peak of the Snow Mountain.

The Sect Deacon smiled and said, ”You both have come here to request help from the Snow Winged Eagle Clan warriors of our Ice and Snow Holy Sect to assist you in flying and making haste on your journey, haven’t you?”

”Yes,” Xiao Yi nodded.

The reason they had to come to the Ice and Snow Holy Sect was that after entering thousands of miles into the Extreme Cold Land, the environment would undergo a drastic change.

For the first few thousand miles, there was little impact.

However, beyond that range, there would be ice sealing everything for tens of thousands of miles, and snow descending like a blanket of goose feathers.

Moreover, there would be demon beasts of extreme cold that were very hard to deal with.

But most importantly, beyond the range of a few thousand miles, Gang Wind of Extreme Cold would appear high in the sky.

Without Late-stage Heavenly Origin cultivation, one could not perform Sky-controlling Flight.

Ordinary Heavenly Origin Realm Martial Artists who tried to fly forcefully would not last even a moment under that Gang Wind of Extreme Cold and would freeze into ice sculptures before shattering into icy fragments.

It was extremely perilous.

The Demon Hunting Hall’s literature described the Extreme Cold Land in only two sentences.

The ground is the graveyard of the weak Martial Artists.

The sky is the forbidden land for the strong Martial Artists.

The weaker Martial Artists, unable to control the air, would face countless extreme cold demon beasts on the ground.

In short, the Extreme Cold Land was, in fact, very much like a forest of demon beasts.

The only difference was that this forest of demon beasts was filled with icy skies and snowy lands and was even more dangerous.

And the stronger Martial Artists, if they had not yet reached the Late-stage Heavenly Origin, would be unable to fly; it was a forbidden land for them.

Of course, Heavenly Origin Realm Martial Artists still had a certain degree of safety when walking on the ground.

But even Late-stage Heavenly Origin Realm Martial Artists, who were able to fly, were not completely safe.

The deeper one ventured into the Extreme Cold Land, the stronger the Gang Wind of Extreme Cold would become, and there might even be unknown dangers hidden within.

To truly traverse the Extreme Cold Land safely, one would probably need the strength of a peak powerhouse, or even stronger.

However, there was one exception to this.

That was the Snow Winged Eagle Clan.

Snow Winged Eagles had always been the rulers of the skies.

The possessors of Snow Winged Eagle Martial Souls were the kings of aerial control.

Even at Earth Origin Realm, they could move unhindered and freely in the high skies of the Extreme Cold Land.

This was also why Xiao Yi made a special trip to the Ice and Snow Holy Sect.

Of course, the Snow Winged Eagle Clan themselves did this as a business too.

The Martial Artists of the Flame Martial Kingdom, if they lacked sufficient strength and confidence, would generally come to seek help from the Snow Winged Eagle Clan.

It just required paying the price.

But Xiao Yi himself actually possessed the strength of Late-stage Heavenly Origin or even that of a peak powerhouse.

However, strength aside, his realm was not sufficient, with only a Nine-layered Cultivation at Earth Origin, and he did not have the corresponding techniques.

If he forcibly performed Sky-controlling Flight in the Gang Wind of Extreme Cold, it was not impossible, but the cost would be the rapid consumption of Primordial Power within his body.

To recklessly consume Primordial Power in such a dangerous place as the Extreme Cold Land, was not a wise move.

...

The second update.
