Chapter 473: Chapter 473: Wind Snow Sword Master

Xiao Yi frowned in thought.

Beside him, Bai Bingxue spoke, ”The Ice Origin Convention, once every thirty years, is extremely rare.”

”It’s a great opportunity for talented individuals to compete and showcase their skills.”

”It’s an event that the entire Flame Dragon Continent watches with rapt attention.”

”Fortunes and adventures in the Extreme Cold Region are too numerous to count.”

”Participants of the Ice Origin Convention in the past have always reaped considerable rewards.”

”They either greatly increase their Cultivation, find Treasures, or at the very least significantly broaden their horizons.”

”With such an opportunity, Xiao Yi, if you do not want this spot, I might ask the Master to give it to someone else.”

As Bai Bingxue spoke, she looked towards Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi remained silent, still deep in thought.

Bai Bingxue furrowed her brow and turned her gaze towards the woman in white.

”Master, I have heard that Purple Flame has been frequently appearing in the Royal Capital’s Demon Hunting Hall in recent months.”

”He’s not as elusive as he used to be.”

”Perhaps...”

The woman smiled and interrupted, ”You needn’t worry about it.”

”For this Ice Origin Convention, the Demon Hunting Hall has expressly ordered that no staff members may participate.”

”If Purple Flame wishes to go, I’m afraid he can only do so in his personal capacity and as an Independent Martial Artist.”

”Without the backing of a powerful force, even he will find himself entangled in trouble should he attend.”

”We cannot give him the Sky-splitting Sword Sect’s spot.”

Upon hearing this, Bai Bingxue’s face fell with disappointment.

The woman chuckled and said, ”Besides, as far as I know, he has recently vanished without a trace again.”

”I’m afraid the Demon Hunting Hall will have a hard time finding him too.”

”However,” the woman said, turning to Xiao Yi, ”I’ve always heard that you have a relationship with Purple Flame.”

”If possible, bring him here.”

”Bai Bingxue has been longing to see him for a long time.”

”What nonsense are you talking about, Master?” Bai Bingxue’s face flushed with bashfulness.

”It is merely because he saved Bai Bingxue’s life; I just want to see him again.”

As she spoke, Bai Bingxue still cast a hopeful look toward Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi shook his head and said, ”I’m not very clear on this, you should go ask my senior brother Ye Ming instead.”

Then, looking at the woman, Xiao Yi inquired, ”I’m curious about the trouble you mentioned; what is it?”

The woman shook her head and responded, ”It’s hard to say, you will understand once you’re there.”

Xiao Yi’s brows furrowed instantly.

The Ice Origin Convention, which only happens once every thirty years, has too long an interval.

Xiao Yi had not learned about it in detail; he had only a vague idea of it.

The Ice Origin Convention is held in the Extreme Cold Region.

The Extreme Cold Region is vast and limitless, a true barren land, with heavy snow all year round.

The Extreme Cold Region is not entirely within the Flame Martial Kingdom’s territory.

To be precise, only a small area belongs to the Flame Martial Kingdom.

That is the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain, the land of the Snow Winged Eagle Clan.

The Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain is the Martial Arts Holy Land of several northern counties of the Flame Martial Kingdom.

Heading northward through the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain, one truly steps into the Extreme Cold Region.

No one knows just how expansive the Extreme Cold Region is.

It is rumored that in terms of size, this barren land is even much larger than the Flame Martial Kingdom itself.

But there are no nations there, for ordinary people simply cannot live in such an environment.

In their stead, numerous Sects stand tall, with countless powerful Sects and organizations nestled within.

That is to say, it is a place exclusively for powerful warriors.

Dangerous, cruel, yet all the more thrilling.

There are countless opportunities and adventures there, even some unknown Ancient Relics.

The Ice Origin Convention is jointly organized by the Sects and organizations from there.

And it attracts talents and warriors from all over, who flock to the event.

Xiao Yi was silent still, pondering.

Seeing this, the woman spoke, ”Young man, I know you don’t want to take the order.”

”You still have many reservations about the Sect.”

”But setting aside these issues, you have received the Sky-splitting Sword Demon’s Inheritance and gained the Martial Arts Knowledge of the Strongest Sword Master of previous generations.”

”This is an undeniable fact.”

”The Strongest Sword Masters of the past all had the responsibility to seek out and nurture the next Sword Master for the Sect.”

”Do you really want to be the one to break this lineage of the Strongest Sword Master?”

”If that’s the case, can you live with letting down the predecessors who held that title?”

”This...” Xiao Yi furrowed his brow and after a long pause, said, ”The young one shall accept the order then.”

Xiao Yi took the token, infused it with his own energy, and soon, the Northern Mountain Sword Master’s Token on his person was activated once again.

The woman nodded her head, revealing a satisfied smile.

”If there’s nothing else, you and Bai Bingxue may set off today.”

”Um?” Xiao Yi frowned and asked, ”Bai Bingxue and I are setting off together?”

”Of course,” the woman said as a matter of fact, ”Sky-splitting Sword Sect has five spots.”

”You and Bai Bingxue have taken two.”

”The owners of the other three spots are all out gaining experience.”

”Soon after, the sect will send them a message, and these three will make their own way to the Ice Edge Conference.”

Xiao Yi frowned and said, ”But, the young one is used to going it alone.”

”Besides, wouldn’t it be better if Senior you personally accompanied Bai Bingxue to the Ice Edge Conference?”

The Ice Edge Conference was a grand occasion.

Talents from all forces would attend, and they would surely be accompanied by elders from their respective powers for protection.

After all, the Extreme Cold Land is no ordinary place.

”I am indisposed,” the woman shook her head, her tone light.

Xiao Yi’s brow wrinkled deeply, and after a long while, he bowed to the woman, saying, ”Thank you, Senior.”

He certainly knew the reason the woman could not leave.

Xiao Yi bowed again and asked, ”Once the young one leaves, may I entrust Senior with a matter?”

The woman smiled and said, ”It concerns your family, does it not?”

”Yes,” Xiao Yi nodded.

Speaking with a wise person was always straightforward.

The woman nodded and said, ”It can be arranged. If your family suffers the slightest loss before you return, I swear I’ll answer for it with my life.”

”Senior’s words are too grave,” Xiao Yi clasped his hands together and was about to turn and leave.

Just then, the woman said, ”Hold on.”

”Hm?” Xiao Yi looked puzzled and asked, ”Does Senior have further instructions for this young one?”

”Yes,” said the woman, ”You must accomplish two things when you go to the Ice Edge Conference. One, you must emerge as number one, do not tarnish the prestige of our sect.”

”Two, I would entrust you with the investigation of a matter.”

”What matter?” Xiao Yi asked.

The woman’s usually placid face grew serious as she asked, ”Decades ago, the 23rd generation’s Strongest Sword Master perished in the Extreme Cold Land, and to this day his cause of death remains a mystery.”

”Only his sword and Sword Master Token flew back to the sect.”

”Back then, the sect dispatched a large number of experts to investigate, but they found nothing.”

”What?” Xiao Yi’s expression changed.

The 23rd generation Sword Master, known as the Wind Snow Sword Master.

Xiao Yi had also studied his Martial Arts Knowledge. Before his death, this man was a Heavenly Origin Peak expert.

The woman spoke solemnly, ”When the Wind Snow Sword Master died, he was in the prime of his life; had he not met his sudden end, he would have been an Extreme Realm Expert by now.”

”And our Sky-splitting Sword Sect would not be in this state of lacking a successor.”

”Even Medicine King Valley, with its clout, has two Extreme Realm experts; how could our Sky-splitting Sword Sect, as a Martial Arts Holy Land, possibly have only one Extreme Realm expert.”

”Of course, if not for the Wind Snow Sword Master’s mysterious demise, you, the yet-to-grow Strongest Sword Master, would not have previously fallen into such dire straits.”

Xiao Yi let out a bitter smile and said, ”How can the young one investigate an incident from decades ago without any leads?”

”Others may not be able to, but I believe you can,” the woman said earnestly.

”With Bai Mohan’s ruthless methods, meticulous mind, and the protection of the strong within the Royal Capital,”

”You managed to unearth the whole story from 15 years ago.”

”What more this matter?”

”Of course, this task is secondary, prioritize the Ice Edge Conference above all.”

”Yes,” Xiao Yi nodded.

”Furthermore,” the woman took out a letter and said, ”This is a letter I penned myself.”

”Hand it to the Clan Leader of the Snow Winged Eagle Clan.”

”Martial Artists within the Ice and Snow Sacred Mountain seldom leave their Clan Land, harboring no grudges with various powers.”

”But they have always been on good terms with our Sky-splitting Sword Sect.”

”You should visit them first, and if you have a need, they will give you their full support.”

”Yes,” Xiao Yi took the letter and turned to leave.

Suddenly, he halted his steps abruptly, turned around, and asked, ”May I ask, Senior, in the Extreme Cold Land, is there any sect or power stronger than the Sky-splitting Sword Sect?”

The woman paused, then a cryptic smile appeared on her face as she proudly said, ”No.”

Xiao Yi furrowed his brow, sensing something peculiar about the woman’s smile.

Nevertheless, he nodded and left for good.
