”A Blood Replenishing Soup, ten years of arduous cultivation!”

The effect of the herbal medicine is evident, but another important factor is talent.

Sometimes, talent can determine the lower limit; even with the same Elixir intake, a genius may absorb it better than an ordinary person.

Another crucial thing is the Cultivation Technique.

A strong Cultivation Technique can bring huge improvements, such as comparing the Grand Ancestor Long Fist to the Water Manipulation Palm.

Even after practicing the Grand Ancestor Long Fist for ten days, one might not surpass the achievements of a single day’s practice of the Water Manipulation Palm.

Therefore, Chen Jie concluded that the importance of cultivation is as follows; Elixir >= Cultivation Technique > Talent.

Unfortunately, these Elixirs that can improve one’s Realm need special Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, which ordinary Silver Coins cannot buy.

To obtain them, one needs opportunity.

The second piece of intelligence also mentioned the Black Market. What is this Black Market, and why haven’t I ever heard of it before?

It seems that I should find some time to inquire with Uncle Zhong or Brother Hong.

I have a feeling that this Black Market is not simple.

As for the third piece of intelligence, for some reason, the position of Village Chief in Xiantao Town seems to be highly valued by these two guilds, and even the Gang Leaders have personally inquired about it.

Although it was just an inquiry, the implications are altogether different.

However, Chen Jie does not understand the insider details and cannot guess the reasoning, but he is even more convinced that this upcoming competition is very important and may directly attract the attention of these high-level figures.

This could be an opportunity to soar.

Then there is the last piece of intelligence regarding the Blood Replenishing Soup; the report says there is not much room for improvement, so there really is not much room for improvement.

However, the report suggests to switch from cooking in a specialized clay pot to an iron pot, but how effective can that be?

Since the report mentioned it, there must be a good reason; hence, I should make some improvements accordingly.

Although Chen Jie does not understand the medical theory involved, analyzing it with modern medical theory, iron pots contain iron ions, which are vital components in synthesizing hemoglobin.

In modern times, people with anemia need to take iron supplements to treat their condition.

If we consider this theory, then there really is a difference between brewing medicine in an iron pot versus a clay pot.

Chen Jie is ready to start making the Blood Replenishing Soup.

However, the Blood Replenishing Soup requires a large iron pot, so Chen Jie heads to the kitchen.

Not long after Chen Jie entered the kitchen, Su Yunjin followed him in.

”Husband, are you hungry? I’ll make you something to eat below...”

”Eh?”

Chen Jie, hearing this statement that is full of innuendo, really wants to say, ”Husband also wants to eat you from below,” but now is not the time.

Chen Jie explained that he was going to brew medicine in the iron pot.

Su Yunjin immediately said, ”Then allow me to stoke the fire for my husband.”

”Mm.”

Chen Jie indeed could not manage everything alone, and he did not want to disturb the people of the Bai Family.

Just as they had started the fire, Doctor Bai awoke. By this time, Chen Jie had already cleaned the Bull Horn Shrimp. Apart from the fish heart, all parts, after being cleaned, were tossed into the iron pot, while for the fish heart, Chen Jie was using a clay pot with cassia seed, Cuscuta chinensis, beginning to stew a pot of Liver Nourishing and Qi Protecting Soup!

Once all the herbs were in the pot, Doctor Bai arrived.

Seeing Chen Jie boiling the Blood Replenishing Soup in an iron pot, he was immediately taken aback.

”Jiu Si, what are you doing?”

”How can a blood nourishing soup be prepared in an iron pot? Isn’t this nonsense?”

Doctor Bai frowned, the medicine classics specified that brewing should primarily use clay pots, with purple sand pots being the best, as they maintain the stability of the medicinal properties.

Iron pots are not allowed, as they can disrupt the Yin Yang balance in the medicine and even reduce its efficacy; in severe cases, they might even produce toxins.

For instance, brewing Gallnuts or pomegranate skin in an iron pot would directly nullify their effectiveness and might even be toxic.

Chen Jie understood this principle as well; modern scientific evidence shows that iron pots are rich in iron ions, which are unstable, and Gallnuts or pomegranate skin contain tannic acid, which would chemically react to form tannic acid iron, resulting in a significant loss of medicinal properties.

However, since the System suggested using an iron pot, there must be a reason for it.

Verified countless times, the System has never been wrong.

Chen Jie, seeing Doctor Bai’s frowning face, knew his ’mistake’ seemed serious in the eyes of Doctor Bai. If he didn’t offer a reasonable explanation, it would be hard to get by.

Chen Jie thought for a moment and said, ”Master, actually, I once saw a prescription similar to the Blood Replenishing Soup in my grandfather’s medicine book. There was a Chapter called ’Blood Iron Supplement Theory.’”

”Blood Iron Supplement?”

Doctor Bai frowned; he didn’t quite approve of the term, but he did acknowledge Chen Yongwang’s medical skills. At the peak of his own career, Chen Yongwang had directly defeated him with his medicine, something not any common person could achieve.

Chen Jie then started to make up a story: ”Blood Iron Supplement is a theory discovered by my grandfather, suggesting that iron generates Yang, and Qi and blood should be replenished with Yang. Cooking regularly with an iron pot ensures an abundance of iron Qi, thus nourishing Qi and blood.”

”Therefore, he emphasized in his version of the blood replenishing prescription that using an iron pot can have a miraculous effect when brewing such blood-nourishing medicine.”

”I thought my grandfather wouldn’t deceive me, so I tried it. Please punish me as you see fit, Master!”

After hearing this, Doctor Bai’s brows furrowed deeply, and he slowly said, ”Jiu Si, perhaps your grandfather’s prescription is indeed useful, but you are relying on this prescription to attempt reaching the Refining Body Realm; this is a serious matter.”
