The Versatile Master Artist

”Of course I really dislike them, but Mr. Xiao Gu, you are the boss. My attitude doesn’t matter; it’s your attitude that matters.”

Uncle Ah Lai said, ”So please don’t worry, I won’t cause you any extra trouble due to my own likes and dislikes. Provided you don’t disappoint me.”

”Thank you. Sorry, I’m actually not a very brave person.” Upon hearing this, Gu Weijing was silent for a few seconds before speaking.

There was a moment when Gu Weijing really seriously worried that Uncle Ah Lai might have some serious conflict with the other party.

Brother Hao holds great power and influence here,

In his heart, he never really had any ambition or great aspiration to fight relentlessly against ’evil forces’.

His courage only extended to not wanting to go along with corrupt forces.

Gu Weijing indeed didn’t have the courage to openly confront a giant like Brother Hao; more often, he planned to leave in a few months.

You go your way, I’ll go mine, each to their own path.

”No, you already did very well just now. Being able to say no to the temptation of a large check takes great courage. I’m not disappointed at all, in fact, I’m starting to feel the significance of this job.”

Uncle Ah Lai said seriously, ”This is very good, very good.”

”Do you know what’s going on?”

”I have a bit of an idea,” Uncle Ah Lai smiled, ”Truly, gold shines wherever it is, it seems it’s not just Chen Shenglin who appreciates you, but also Brother Hao... it’s that Brother Hao, right?”

”Do you know him?”

”The Yangon Godfather, I’ve heard of him, but he became famous much later than the big figures of Kunsha’s generation. I’ve only heard of the name. I don’t know him, but such underworld figures are all similar.”

”You handled it very well, their gifts all come with strings attached, and each is marked with a price. There are no free gifts; take the money and you’ll have to risk your life—not just yours, but your family’s too.”

Uncle Ah Lai was silent for a moment, ”Being noticed by such people is troublesome, really troublesome, but Mr. Xiao Gu, please do what you want to do. As long as you hold true to your heart, I will do my best to protect you.”

...

No matter how troublesome Brother Hao is, life must go on.

Gu Weijing felt it was more practical to focus on painting rather than worrying about guessing the mindset of a mafia boss.

What he most wants to do and should do is prepare for the art exhibition in Singapore.

Speaking of social status,

Elder Cao truly holds a position no lower than many cultural ministers of the European Union countries, and his influence is even greater.

Once the art exhibition is settled, it doesn’t matter what kind of demon or monster Brother Hao is, even if he has connections everywhere.

No matter how formidable he is,

in relatively stable Europe,

as long as I remain steadfast, no one can force the last disciple of a great artist like Elder Cao, who commands such respect from government officials around the world, to work for them.

Forget the Yangon Godfather, even an organization like Al-Qaeda doesn’t have that power.

With the assistance of Lang Shining’s ”Essence of New Body Painting,”

When Gu Weijing arrived at the studio, the first thing he did was to design the base sketch of the exhibition painting by referring to the previously prepared drafts.

The base sketch is neither a draft nor the final work; it’s an intermediate state between the two.

Using simple color blocks and paints based on the draft, he created the general light and shadow contrast, the outlines of the main subjects, and the color scheme of the painting.

It’s like building a house by setting up the main beams first, or constructing a ship by laying the keel first.
