The Versatile Master Artist

Miss Mona really did not wish to encounter any of her fellow students at this moment.

She is the president of the female student council, a prominent figure on campus, an outstanding little queen. At this time, her vulnerable, tear-filled appearance was nothing like her usual grace.

If there was anyone she was particularly reluctant to meet.

It would be Gu Weijing.

At the moment she saw him, Mona even felt an inexplicable panic in her heart.

Whenever she interacted with Gu Weijing, she always felt a psychological advantage, believing herself to be the strong, elegant, and noble one.

Carrying a bit of effortless pride.

But now with reddened eyes, having just cried, she was clearly divorced from words like elegance and pride.

Teen love is like a peacock displaying its feathers, whether Mona realized it or not, deep down she never wanted to show her small side to him.

”Yes, I did want to please Professor Cruz, and it didn’t work out too well. But so what?”

Mona wrinkled her high-bridged nose, forcibly suppressing the panic in her heart, ready to use sharp words to drive this untimely guy away.

”At least I tried, regardless of the outcome, I don’t regret it. And you? How many days has it been since you last went to the studio! If you had the courage to do the same, I’d actually think more of you, Gu Weijing.”

”If you’re here to mock me for trying to take shortcuts, go ahead. If you’re here to comfort me, you can just leave, I don’t need your pity.”

She mocked.

”It’s not like that. Miss Mona, we are good friends.”

Gu Weijing bent down, shaking his head.

He looked at the stubborn Indian girl, speaking gently: ”I saw the message you sent me over the weekend, I know you were worried about me. It was just that, on that day, I was outside busy drawing...”

”Worried about you? Who would worry about you, I’m not your mom.”

Mona pursed her lips.

Speaking of this matter.

Her anger flared up once again.

She had hesitated for a long time that day before kindly sending Gu Weijing a message.

She ended up holding her phone for half an hour, only to receive the words ”busy right now.”

Such arrogance!

Take it or leave it.

It seemed as if a lady like her was begging him desperately.

”When I got home, I wanted to contact you again, but it seemed like you directly deleted me.”

Gu Weijing said softly.

”Ha, I do as I please, what’s it to you.”

Mona said with a blank expression.

I deleted you just to express ”I’m very unhappy.”

I didn’t block you, if you really cared about me, wouldn’t you try adding me back?

She sneered internally.

Gu Weijing shook his head, falling silent.

Mona saw Gu Weijing take out a piece of white sketch paper from a notebook in his small bag and handed it to Mona.

”I don’t know why I’ve upset you lately, but Miss Mona, this is a little gift from me. I think this should make you happier than Jerry’s roses.”

Gu Weijing said with a smile.

Mona’s expression froze.

On the sketch paper in the boy’s hand was a quick sketch of a girl with long hair draped over her shoulders.

This was entirely different from the kind of sketching style she had seen from Gu Weijing before.

Not only was the painting technique different,

but the brushwork was extraordinarily exquisite.

In the painting, the girl slightly turned her face.

Clean, clear pen lines pulled back a ponytail at the back of her head, with a skirt blowing in the wind over her shoulders, a string of gold rings clinched around her exposed arms, and a bright, confident smile on her face.

”This is my portrait.”

Looking at the lively and coquettish girl on the paper, Mona’s anger towards Gu Weijing dissipated more than half.

She attended the art class,

With Mona’s popularity in her studies, it wasn’t uncommon for male classmates to include a sketch of her in love letters as a way of confessing.

It was reasonable to say,

A portrait like this wouldn’t move Mona.

But the feeling Gu Weijing’s picture brought to Mona was completely different from those works.

Exquisite brushwork was one aspect.

More importantly, the emotion contained within the picture.

Simple ink lines clearly highlighted the air of intelligence mingled with confidence in the girl, making the picture come alive instead of remaining pale.

Mona instantly fell in love with the drawing.

She understood that this quick sketch was definitely a very, very meticulous work.

It might have taken a considerable amount of time, countless practice, and discarded drafts to complete such a picture.

Unfortunately...

He should have used this effort on his university application portfolio!

”In school, when guys apologize to girls, they either take them to a concert, or gift them a new phone, at the very least, they’d go for high-end sushi or French cuisine. Yet you just use a cheap sketch from life to appease me?”

Miss Mona, with her tsundere personality, felt a warmth inside, yet her mouth still couldn’t help but continue with her sarcasm.

She glared at Gu Weijing, hesitated for a moment, but eventually took the sketch paper from the boy’s hand.

”If you want me to forgive you, fine, I have three demands for you.”

Mona thought for a moment, extending three fingers.

”First, give up that outlandish major painting idea. Having artistic ideas is good, but one should be down-to-earth.”

”Second, every midday, after school, and on Saturdays and Sundays, you must come to the school studio with me, and honestly prepare the university application materials. I have already researched the information, during this year’s school recruitment, Erasmus University Rotterdam is offering extra points for the Fashion Design topic. Besides the basic portfolio, for safety’s sake, we also need to prepare ten to fifteen fashion-inspired art design drafts, and there’s already tight time.”
