Apocalypse: King of Zombies

”That’s it? Seriously?”

The battlefield fell into a brief silence. All eyes were on Big Ears, and the collective reaction from the zombies was… disappointment. His arrival felt like it had single-handedly lowered the prestige of the Dreadnought-class Starcruiser.

But then, another figure stepped forward—a female Zombie King, cradling a guitar in her arms. A subtle wave of psychic energy rippled from her as she walked.

Elegy.

She slowly closed her eyes, as if drawing in the weight of the moment, preparing for a flawless performance.

Then her fingers danced across the strings.

In an instant, the battlefield was filled with music.

A battle anthem.

A symphony of slaughter.

The song: ”In the End.” A fitting title—for this was the final war.

”ROOOAAARRR—!”

The zombies let out a thunderous howl, shaking the heavens.

Above the Starcruiser, a black cloud surged upward—no, not a cloud. A massive swarm of crows, their shrill cries slicing through the air like funeral bells, heralding death for all who stood in their path.

Ethan stood tall in his white shirt, unmoving, as the black birds circled around him. In the sky behind him, tiny lights began to flicker.

Then came the thunder.

BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.

The ground trembled as wave after wave of metallic beasts crashed down around Ethan—Guard Mechs, hundreds of them, forming a steel phalanx at his side.

The sight was nothing short of breathtaking.

Every zombie on the field stared, dumbfounded.

”Guard Mechs?!”

”Are these really… Southvale’s zombies?”

”...”

With Ethan’s forces now fully assembled, the battle was about to hit its boiling point.

”CHARGE!”

The undead roared.

The Guard Mechs roared back to life, like ancient war machines awakened from slumber. Thick, glowing lightsabers extended from their arms, and they launched themselves into Heartland’s horde like a tidal wave of death.

The lightsabers gleamed like neon blades, slicing through the air in rhythm with Elegy’s music.

Heartland’s zombies were torn apart—black blood sprayed in arcs, limbs flew, and bodies crumpled. It was a massacre choreographed to music, a dance of death.

The thousand-strong metal army advanced like a wall of bronze and steel, cutting a path straight through Heartland’s elite.

Wherever the mechs passed, nothing was left but shredded corpses and scorched earth.

The battlefield had become a meat grinder.

Blood. Fury. Carnage.

Meteorfall’s heart surged with adrenaline. His eyes burned with vindication.

This—this was the kind of Zombie Horde that could crush Heartland’s so-called elite.

”See that?! I told you—I made the right call!”

”Hmph! So what if they’re Guard Mechs?” Hydrissa snapped, refusing to let him gloat. ”They’ve only got the upper hand for now. It doesn’t change the fact that you’re just a pawn being used.”

But Meteorfall didn’t flinch. His voice was steady, his gaze unwavering.

”Funny. I think you’re the one being used. Didn’t you notice? Endless could’ve stopped the Starbreaker Cannon. But he didn’t.”

Hydrissa blinked. ”What are you talking about?”

”I mean exactly what I said,” Meteorfall replied coldly. ”He stood there and watched you all get blasted to hell. Didn’t lift a finger. Why? To conserve his strength. He doesn’t give a damn about his own troops. Acts all noble, but he’s colder than anyone. Selfish to the core. That’s not a leader. That’s a fraud. He doesn’t deserve the title of Deathless Sovereign.”

”...” Hydrissa bit her lip, falling silent. She’d come here to shake his resolve—but now, her own was starting to crack.

Meanwhile, the Guard Mechs continued to carve a path forward, and Westmarch’s zombies surged in behind them, reclaiming territory they’d lost.

With every step, they pushed deeper into Heartland’s land.

The undead were fired up, howling with excitement, their bloodlust boiling over.

Victory was no longer a dream—it was within reach.

”They’re pushing through,” Lilith said calmly, her eyes scanning the battlefield.

Nightwraith’s brow furrowed, irritation flickering across his face. ”Let’s see how long those shiny toys of theirs can hold out.”

With that, his psychic energy surged outward like a tidal wave, crashing toward the advancing Guard Mechs. The pressure of a Deathless Sovereign was overwhelming—unstoppable.

But high above, the Dreadnought-class Starcruiser hovered silently, shadowing the mechs like a guardian angel.

Then, a strange green glow lit up across its hull. A pulse of alien energy rippled outward.

Undying Vine Domain.

With a soft command, a cascade of vines burst from the Starcruiser’s underbelly—thick, writhing tendrils that twisted together like serpents, pouring down from the sky like a green waterfall.

It looked like a living galaxy of vines, descending from the heavens.

Nightwraith’s psychic assault slammed into the domain—and was swallowed whole. His attack weakened, then vanished entirely.

”What the…?”

He blinked, surprised. That domain wasn’t just strong—it was exceptional. To completely neutralize a Deathless Sovereign’s psychic strike? That was no small feat.

On the Starcruiser’s deck, Elegy’s battle anthem soared higher, louder. The music screamed with fury, and the undead onboard answered the call.

Zombies began sliding down the vines like soldiers on ropes, dropping into the fray.

Black mist rose, cloaking the sky. Shadowy figures darted through the gloom, vanishing into the chaos. Pink flowers bloomed across the battlefield, and towering trees erupted from the ground like spears.

Mimics—dozens, maybe hundreds—rose from the earth, their forms shifting and twitching.

Ethan’s elite Zombie Kings had arrived.

”Let’s go! We’re taking the top of The Origin Mountain!” Bulldozer’s roar thundered across the battlefield as he charged forward, leading a wave of hardened undead behind him.

Their eyes burned with battlelust. The war for Heartland wasn’t just a fight—it was a celebration.

But far behind the front lines, a new storm was brewing.

Dark clouds churned. Killing intent thickened the air. More zombies were pouring in—wave after wave.

The Starcruiser had only carried a fraction of Ethan’s forces. Southvale’s full might was still arriving, and now it was flooding the battlefield like a tidal wave.

From a distance, it looked like the mountains themselves were moving—an endless sea of undead, crashing toward Heartland.

The battlefield stretched for miles. Even Endless, with his sharp gaze, couldn’t see the end of it. Everywhere he looked, zombies were locked in brutal combat.

The real war had begun.

”They think they can reach the top of The Origin Mountain?” Endless’s eyes narrowed, a cold gleam flashing through them.

Then he turned toward Ethan—only to find the white-clad figure surrounded by black crows… fading.

Vanishing.

The three Deathless Sovereigns tensed.

”He’s coming,” Nightwraith muttered, his voice low.

...

The battle for Heartland had officially begun.

Ethan was making his move—heading straight for the summit of The Origin Mountain.

But he wasn’t the only one.

All across Necroterra—the continent of the undead—zombie hordes were rising. Heartland sat at the center, and now, from the east, west, north, and south, the other Regions were launching their own assaults.

In the east, a massive Bulk Freighter tore through the sky, lurching and groaning as it flew low over the battlefield.

Below, the ground was a storm of dust and death. A zombie tide surged forward like a living tsunami.

The East had arrived.

At the helm of the freighter stood Bloodveil, Overlord of Eastreach. Hands clasped behind his back, he stared through the cracked glass at the looming silhouette of The Origin Mountain, shrouded in mist.

”Perfect timing,” he said, a smug grin on his face. ”Ethan’s already charging ahead. Let him take the hits—I’ll swoop in and clean up the glory.”

The zombie underling beside him nodded eagerly. ”Yeah, the three Deathless Sovereigns are all tied up in the west. It’s a total slugfest over there.”

”Good. Let them wear each other down. We’ll go straight for the summit. Time to swoop in and steal the glory!” Bloodveil’s eyes gleamed with ambition.

This was it. His moment. The battle that would make his name echo across Necroterra.

He was already imagining the headlines.

But then—boom.

A sudden wave of psychic energy slammed into the freighter. The entire ship shuddered violently. The control panels flickered, then sparked, then went dark.

”What the hell?!”

Bloodveil’s expression twisted. He felt it instantly—someone powerful was interfering. A Zombie King, and not a weak one.

The freighter, already old and barely held together, began to spiral.

The instruments died. The engines sputtered. The ship tilted hard.

”We’re going down!” someone screamed.

Zombies were thrown across the cabin, tumbling over each other, groaning in pain.

”This piece of junk—again?!”

BOOM—!

The freighter slammed into the ground.
