Apocalypse: King of Zombies

But Wraithshade’s underlings had already been scattered, and Frostmere was vast—tracking them down wouldn’t be easy.

Luckily, Ethan’s Command Cruiser came equipped with Bee Drones—tiny machines shaped like bees, deployed in massive swarms. Each one acted like a mini radar, capable of scanning wide areas.

In no time, thousands upon thousands of these ”bionic bees” were launched from the Command Cruiser, spreading out rapidly to sweep the region.

Besides hunting down Wraithshade’s scattered zombie troops, the drones also gave a rough overview of the Frostmere landscape.

Moments later, the Bee Drones were everywhere—zipping across grasslands, valleys, and jungles. Thanks to their small size, they were nearly impossible for other creatures to detect.

And even if something did spot them… it wouldn’t have a clue what it was looking at.

Ethan stood with the other Zombie Kings, watching the live feed streaming back from the drones.

”Damn, this is high-tech,” Bloodveil muttered, clearly impressed.

As the drones scanned the terrain, they picked up on numerous zombie groups—some of them large enough to be considered full-blown hordes. Several of these hordes were roaming in different areas, each one numbering around 200,000.

Wherever they passed, chaos followed—total destruction.

”These zombies aren’t staying in their nests anymore. They’re all out wandering around,” Bloodveil said, frowning.

”Yeah. They’re still hunting down the last of Wraithshade’s forces,” Ethan replied. He’d already spotted several skirmishes—scattered zombies being crushed under the sheer weight of the passing hordes.

”Bastards!” Wraithshade growled, baring his fangs, fury rising in his chest. ”They really want to wipe us out completely, huh?”

Just then, one of the Bee Drones buzzed into a remote mountain valley, a place so well-hidden it was practically invisible.

Inside a cave carved into a cliff face, the drone’s scanner picked up a massive figure.

It was a hulking creature, easily ten feet tall, with a body packed with muscle. But what really stood out—he had six arms.

Wraithshade’s eyes lit up the moment he saw him. ”That’s Hexarm! One of my most trusted lieutenants. I can’t believe he’s still alive. Let’s go get him!”

”Got it,” Ethan nodded.

The Command Cruiser—massive as a mountain—immediately veered toward the valley.

Clearly, Hexarm, the six-armed Zombie King, had gone into hiding to avoid being wiped out by the roaming hordes. But with Frostmere in turmoil and nearly every zombie out in the open, the valley wasn’t exactly safe. Several hordes were nearby, just outside the cliffs.

It was a dangerous situation. Hexarm moved with extreme caution, like walking on a tightrope. He peeked out from the cave entrance, then quickly ducked back into the shadows.

The cave itself was deep inside the mountain, hollowed out into a sizable chamber. Nearly a thousand zombies were holed up inside.

After days on the run, they were starving. Supplies were low, tempers were high, and some of the food had already started to rot.

”Boss Hexarm, what’s it like out there? Can we go scavenge something to eat?” one of the elite zombie minions asked.

”Scavenge my ass,” Hexarm snapped. ”The second we show our faces, Abyssion’s goons will spot us. There’s a huge horde right outside the valley.”

The minion clenched his jagged teeth. Even though they were highly evolved, a thousand of them stood no chance against a horde of over two hundred thousand.

The numbers were just too lopsided...

Another elite zombie, eyes burning with rage, growled, ”Boss Hexarm, maybe we should just charge out and fight. Better to die swinging than starve to death in here. If we wait too long, we’ll all end up as Black-Skin Zombies anyway!”

”Hold on. Don’t do anything stupid,” Hexarm said, trying to calm him down. ”We wait for Boss Wraithshade. If he comes back, we might still have a shot.”

”You keep saying that, but it’s been almost three months. Is he really coming back?” the minion asked, brows furrowed, doubt creeping into his voice.

”He’ll come back,” Hexarm said firmly, no hesitation in his tone.

Ever since he’d awakened his intelligence, he’d been by Wraithshade’s side. The two of them had risen fast, thanks to their natural talents. Back then, they were known as the ”Two-Headed Hexarm” duo—unstoppable, feared by all.

But Hexarm’s potential had always been a notch below Wraithshade’s. While Wraithshade had ascended to SSS-rank as The Voidborn Undying, Hexarm was still stuck around SS.

Even so, the rest of the zombie crew had been in awe of Wraithshade’s evolution. To them, he was a once-in-a-million genius—the kind of monster who could change the fate of the undead.

But genius alone… was just the entry ticket to challenge the Overlord of Frostmere.

”…”

At that moment, a massive object descended from the sky.

BOOOOM!

The entire valley shook with a thunderous rumble.

Inside the cave, Hexarm and the other zombies all felt a jolt of dread in their chests.

”What the hell was that?”

”Did some kind of giant beast just land?”

”Doesn’t feel like it…”

”Could it be one of those Zombie Hordes that’s been hunting us?”

”...”

The undead murmured nervously, eyes locked on the cave entrance, every muscle tensed, senses on high alert.

The air was dead silent—so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Then, in the bright light pouring through the cave mouth, a silhouette appeared. The sunlight cast the figure in shadow, but one detail stood out unmistakably—two heads perched atop a single neck.

”Boss?” Hexarm’s eyes went wide, his monstrous pupils dilating in shock.

Behind him, the other zombies in the cave scrambled to their feet, stunned, crowding forward.

”Boss… is that really you?” Hexarm stared, dumbfounded. He’d said Wraithshade would come back—but he never expected it to be this soon.

”Yeah. I came back for you,” Wraithshade said, stepping out of the light and into the dark hollow of the mountain.

The moment the others saw his two heads, their eyes lit up with excitement.

”Holy shit… this isn’t a dream, right?”

”Boss, Abyssion’s Zombie Hordes have split into multiple waves. They’re sweeping the whole region, trying to wipe us out completely. How the hell did you even get here?” Hexarm asked.

”From the sky,” Wraithshade replied simply, not bothering with the details. ”That doesn’t matter now. What matters is I’m getting you all out of this valley—and we’re going to take the fight to Abyssion. And to those Zombie Kings from Heartland who’ve been backing him.”

”What?” Hexarm blinked, stunned. Back when their forces were at full strength, they still couldn’t take those guys down. Now they were just a ragtag bunch of survivors, barely hanging on.

”Boss… are you sure we can pull this off?”

”Not on our own,” Wraithshade admitted. ”But this time, I brought allies.”

”Allies?” Hexarm and the others looked at each other, confused.

Then, several figures stepped into the cave behind Wraithshade.

First came Bloodveil, the Overlord of Eastreach. His eyes scanned the cave lazily, but even that casual glance radiated a brutal, oppressive aura. His presence alone made the air feel heavier.

”The Voidborn Undying!”

The gathered Zombie Kings gasped, instinctively taking a few steps back.

Next came Ethan and Laura. Both of them had striking looks—almost too perfect—and carried themselves with a kind of effortless detachment, like nothing in the world could faze them.

But Laura’s eyes… they lacked the calm of the others. Every now and then, a flicker of madness and bloodlust danced behind her gaze.

”Another two Voidborn Undying…”

Hexarm stood frozen, like he’d been struck by lightning. His mind reeled, unable to process what he was seeing.

These… these were the allies the boss had brought back?
