Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 644: Chapter 639: Eye, Ear, Nose, Tongue, Body, and Mind

Lü Yang was tempted by the Taiyin Immortal Venerable’s words.

A great opportunity?

Under normal circumstances, he might have been wary, but Lü Yang had thrown caution to the wind. He was afraid of nothing now. If there was an advantage to be had, he would take it first and deal with the consequences later!

At this thought, Lü Yang immediately put on a loyal expression. ”I am willing to help ease your burdens, Senior Sister.”

The words had barely left his mouth when the world began to spin. By the time he came to his senses, he had already crashed into something incredibly soft, and a refreshing osmanthus fragrance filled his nostrils.

”GAH!”

Lü Yang struggled to lift his head, only to find that the Taiyin Immortal Venerable was holding him in her embrace with just one hand. Her grip was unbelievably firm.

’What is she trying to do?’

’I’m not that kind of person!’

Lü Yang immediately started to struggle. At such a close distance, he was completely powerless to fight back and had no time to react. She could do whatever she wanted to him.

’I need a safe distance!’

But the next second, the Taiyin Immortal Venerable lowered her gaze to the struggling Lü Yang and frowned. ”Don’t move. Just feel it.”

Lü Yang was about to retort when he felt a sudden stir. A moment later, an indescribably terrifying wave slammed into his Spiritual Space. If Si Chou hadn’t scared him half to death earlier, forcing him to keep his Spiritual Space tightly sealed after it left, his defenses would have likely been shattered by the surprise attack.

Even so, Lü Yang still perceived a great deal.

There were streams of consciousness, torrents of thoughts... Most of them were wails, screams, and despair. A terrifying swarm of negative emotions rushed toward him!

”What is this!?”

Lü Yang’s brows knitted together as he sealed his Spiritual Space even more tightly. A lingering fear washed over him... If he had allowed those emotions to crash into his Spiritual Space...

’The consequences would have been unimaginable!’

Then, the Taiyin Immortal Venerable said softly, ”This place is called the Spirit Platform... The thoughts of all cultivators who practice the Spirit Platform Technique are linked to this place.”

”Oh... Hmm?”

Lü Yang nodded at first, but then he seemed to realize something, his expression turning strange. ’It’s connected to all Spirit Platform Cultivators?’

He recalled the sensation from just now—the impact of a multitude of thoughts. If his Cultivation hadn’t been high enough and he hadn’t sealed his Spiritual Space, he would have likely been influenced... By that same logic, if someone with high enough Cultivation were to stand on the 9th Layer, they should be able to influence all Spirit Platform Cultivators in return!

And if he remembered correctly, Si Chou had said before:

’The Spirit Platform Technique was created by the Bhagavat?’

Rinima, don’t tell me this is the prototype for the Pure Land’s ’Unity’? The Bhagavat made a model of it back in the Celestial Mansion, and by the time of the Immortal Pivot, he had perfected it?

The next second, Lü Yang snapped back to his senses, only to find himself locking eyes with a pair of clear, beautiful eyes.

At some point, the Taiyin Immortal Venerable had pulled him closer into her embrace, tilting his chin up and looking down at him. Her beautiful eyes held a scrutinizing gaze.

”...”

’What now? What is she up to?’

Lü Yang calmly met her gaze.

A moment later, the Taiyin Immortal Venerable released him and said coolly, ”It seems you know a great deal. Did Si Chou tell you? I advise you not to believe it.”

”After all, it is not the true Sichou Daoist Lord.”

Lü Yang was stunned by her words.

’Not a Daoist Lord?’

What kind of joke was that? The entity had silently entered his Spiritual Space and nearly tormented him to death. And she was saying it wasn’t a true Daoist Lord?

”Indeed, it is not.”

Seeing Lü Yang’s incredulous expression, the Taiyin Immortal Venerable shook her head. ”When the Ancestral Master makes a move, how could he possibly let a Daoist Lord survive?”

”The Sichou Daoist Lord of old died long ago. His true body was slain, and the wisp of his True Spirit on the Other Shore was shattered. What you saw was merely a sliver of Divine Will mixed into his final roar before death... Of course, it may not be aware of this itself, and even if it were, it would never admit it.”

Lü Yang was inwardly shocked. ’Something like that can happen?’

When a Daoist Lord falls, his body becomes a Celestial Mansion, and his Divine Will becomes a lingering remnant. His eyes, ears, nose, and tongue become tools for monitoring the Heaven and Earth his body has transformed into.

This reminded him of another entity.

The Heavenly God of the Immortal Pivot!

’The Heavenly God of that wretched place is theoretically without consciousness, possessing only rudimentary instincts... Could it be because it only has its eyes, ears, nose, and tongue left?’

’It’s missing the most important part—the Divine Will!’

Of course, this speculation was based on the premise that the Immortal Pivot, like the Celestial Mansion, was also formed from the corpse of a Daoist Lord. Lü Yang reined in his thoughts, not dwelling on it any further.

Meanwhile, the Taiyin Immortal Venerable continued her explanation.

”This place is called the Spirit Platform. It is the very first Spirit Platform in all of Heaven and Earth, the culmination of the Bhagavat’s Spirit Platform Technique. It is a good place for achieving Enlightenment.”

Then, with a wave of her hand...

The next second, Lü Yang found that the thoughts of all beings, once filled with negative emotions, were instantly purified, leaving only the purest ripples of thought.

”All extraneous emotion is purged, leaving only the most rational thoughts.”

”Therefore, by seeking Enlightenment on this Spirit Platform, you can borrow the power of the masses to perform deductions alongside you. If you still have doubts about your path on the Dao, this place can help you.”

”I see...”

Lü Yang’s heart stirred. ’Harnessing the collective computational power of the masses... this is a bit like the Dao Court’s Immortal Dao Law! It’s much cruder, but still useful.’

It could only be said that the Bhagavat truly lived up to his reputation as a Nascent Soul who had integrated the strengths of countless schools; he had dabbled in all sorts of methods. At the same time, an idea sparked in Lü Yang’s mind: if he borrowed the power of this Spirit Platform, could it help him deduce a method for refining his Grotto Heaven into a True Treasure?

”Well?”

The Taiyin Immortal Venerable looked at Lü Yang and said nonchalantly, ”Guard the Sea of Suffering in my stead. Don’t let anyone else in. Otherwise, if Si Chou really gains power, you’ll be in danger too.”

After all, Si Chou utterly despised the First Saint but couldn’t possibly take revenge right now. In that case, it might as well take out its anger on the weak by killing a few of the First Saint’s successors.

Judging others by their own standards, both the Taiyin Immortal Venerable and Lü Yang felt this was a very real possibility.

At least, that’s what they would do in its position.

At this thought, Lü Yang nodded immediately. ”I understand. But forgive me for being blunt—if the situation becomes untenable, don’t blame me for retreating.”

”Of course.”

The Taiyin Immortal Venerable nodded as if it were a matter of course. They were from the Stain Sect, after all. Enough said.

The next second, she reached out and tore open the Sea of Suffering, stepping through and vanishing from the 9th Layer. Lü Yang watched with a flicker of awe.

In the instant the Taiyin Immortal Venerable entered the Sea of Suffering, he had caught a glimpse of her Dao.

’The Fruit of Money?’

No, that wasn’t it. It was no longer a simple Fruit. At least, in that fleeting glimpse, what Lü Yang had seen was a straight Great Dao that pierced the heavens!

’What was that?’

Lü Yang’s mind raced as he pondered:

’The further a Golden Core Perfected Lord progresses in their cultivation, the more they must break free from their Fruit, escaping its shackles... Is that Great Dao a symbol of having moved beyond reliance on a Fruit?’

He had seen it clearly. It was a Great Dao shimmering with a brilliant golden light, clearly formed from the concept of Money. The Great Dao was like a pillar supporting the heavens, one end rooted deep within the Sea of Suffering while the other stretched upward, reaching deep into the void, its end nowhere in sight.
