Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 529: Chapter 529: Jointly Eradicating the Pure Land

East, Celestial Wu Hall.

Inside a dimly lit grand hall, a young man with two horns sat cross-legged. An image of the Fruit of Sky-River Water continuously washed over his Qi trace.

Suddenly, his eyes shot open in surprise.

”Huh? It worked?”

Celestial Python had been in seclusion all this time, trying to borrow the power of the Immortal Dao Law to wash away the Buddhist Destiny and karmic links from the Pure Land that clung to him.

However, the effect had been negligible. The strength of the Buddhist Destiny far exceeded his expectations, making him curse inwardly. ’If the image of the Fruit of Sky-River Water hadn’t been damaged, I wouldn’t be in this predicament. With just one sweep, any Buddhist Destiny or karmic links would have been washed away, unable to remain on my body at all.’

Unfortunately, after the heavens shifted, the Supreme Venerable had been displaced.

The image that originally belonged to the Fruit of Sky-River Water had been divided among rivers, lakes, and seas—the other five Water Element Fruits—creating a situation where the lord was weak and the vassals were strong.

The Fruit of Sky-River Water, which should have been the strongest.

Now, among the Water Element Fruits, it had become the weakest. It was a dignified Emperor Fruit that not only offered no bonuses but was even holding him back.

That was why Celestial Python was so surprised when the Buddhist Destiny and karmic links suddenly vanished.

”Could it be that my Cultivation has greatly improved?”

Regardless, the disappearance of the Buddhist Destiny was a good thing. If he weren’t in the East, he would have transformed back into his dragon form to celebrate in the sea.

Celestial Python cheerfully walked out of his seclusion palace.

But the next second, he froze. Celestial Wu City was filled with a murderous atmosphere, and large battalions of armored soldiers were marching out in formation.

’What’s going on? Have the remnants of Celestial Wu rebelled?’

Just then, a Flying Light descended. It was Empress Xiao, clad in a phoenix coronet and robes—the person with the highest Cultivation in the Dao Court besides Lü Yang.

”Your Majesty, the Empress...” Celestial Python hurriedly bowed.

Strictly speaking, Lü Yang was now in charge of the Dao Court, so she was no longer the Empress. However, everyone still addressed her as such on the surface.

After all, those who knew, knew.

”You’re out of seclusion? Then come with me.”

Empress Xiao glanced at Celestial Python and said in a low voice, ”You are at Foundation Establishment Perfection, after all. You’ll be a help... Daoist, we are about to do something big.”

”Something big?”

Celestial Python was taken aback but felt no great disturbance. After experiencing Lü Yang’s usurpation of the Dao Court, he was no longer easily shaken by any news.

So he asked casually, ”What is it?”

Upon hearing his question, Empress Xiao’s chest heaved as if she were suppressing her own shock. A moment later, she whispered, ”We march on the West to avenge ourselves against the Pure Land!”

Celestial Python: ”...Huh?”

.......

West, Paradise Temple.

Despite being in a border region directly facing the East, this temple was brilliantly lit and exquisitely beautiful. Decadent music drifted out from within.

Inside the grand hall, countless Monks sat drinking wine and eating meat, indulging themselves freely. A mortal dancing girl sat beside each Monk. Whenever the mood struck, they would simply begin to grope and fondle them, completely disregarding the public setting.

At the head of the hall sat a veritable Meat Mountain.

He had a fat head, large ears, and a thick, round waist. Compared to his massive, bloated torso, his limbs seemed incredibly scrawny. He was currently grabbing a piece of meat and tearing at it with his mouth.

This Meat Mountain was the Arhat of the Paradise Temple.

His Dharma name was Desire Mountain.

As his name suggested, his Dao Foundation was a mountain. He cultivated by borrowing from the seven emotions and six desires, so his path was one of indulgent pleasure.

Just then, a Monk hurried over, his face etched with worry.

”My lord... My lord, please stop for a moment!”

The decadent music in the temple came to an abrupt halt. The Meat Mountain Arhat frowned and looked down, causing the Monk who had spoken to break out in a cold sweat.

Nevertheless, he continued, ”My lord, have you not received the news from the Pure Land? The Buddha’s Son has fallen in the East! We are right next to the East; staying here will likely be disastrous. The plan now should be to immediately retreat and seek out fellow Daoists in the temples deeper within the West...”

”Enough nonsense!”

Before the Monk could finish, the Meat Mountain Arhat slapped him to the ground and roared with laughter. ”By the Bhagavat, do you think we fear the East?”

”I don’t mind telling you.”

”The great ones in the Pure Land have long had a plan in place. They’re just waiting for those rats to come knocking. No matter who comes, the result will be the same: death!”

With that, the Meat Mountain Arhat called out again.

”Let the music play on! Let the dancing continue!”

At once, the decadent music resumed. The Meat Mountain Arhat nodded in satisfaction and reached out to grab another piece of meat, only to grasp at empty air.

”Hm?”

The Meat Mountain Arhat paused, then suddenly felt something... It wasn’t just him; every Monk present felt it at the same time and looked up at the sky.

And then, their pupils froze.

A blazing golden light descended from the heavens, filling the eyes of every Monk, freezing their expressions. An understanding subconsciously surfaced in their minds:

’How dare a transgressing subordinate gaze directly upon the emperor’s light?’

The Jianyang Emperor’s Light Talisman!

As this Daoist Skill descended, it severed their Divine Sense, sending their minds wandering beyond the heavens, muddled and unaware of their surroundings. It rooted every Monk on the spot.

Immediately after, a sword hummed.

SHIIING—!

There was no pain. The Sword Light swept past like a fierce wind scattering autumn leaves, leaving only a row of headless corpses from which no blood spurted.

BOOM!

The next second, without the support of its presiding Arhat, the entire Paradise Temple collapsed with a deafening roar. Only the mortal dancing girls were protected and sent away.

........

High in the sky, Lü Yang stood with his hands behind his back.

At this moment, the Paradise Temple was not an isolated case. Besides his own forces from the East, armies from the South, the North, and Overseas had also set foot in the territory of the West!

The forces of four regions had united to destroy the Pure Land!

Lü Yang gazed into the distance, as if he could see into the deepest part of the Pure Land. There, a Qi trace alien to this corner of Heaven and Earth was fluctuating.

Lü Yang recognized it.

’The Dragon and Snake Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva...’

An Outer Dao True Monarch of the Pure Land. Originally, he should have gone into seclusion along with All True Monarchs, but compared to the native Perfected Lords, an Outer Dao True Monarch had more room to maneuver.

’Normally, for an Outer Dao True Monarch to advance further in this broken place, they would choose to integrate with Heaven and Earth, spread their Dharma Gates, and provide Enlightenment to Cultivators who would then support their Dao Fruit. Therefore, when the Fruit of Sorrowless Heaven was activated, Outer Dao True Monarchs, just like the native Perfected Lords, lost that support and were forced into seclusion.’

’But there are always exceptions to the rule.’

’If an Outer Dao True Monarch were to abandon the path of advancement, sever their connection with Heaven and Earth, and revert to their Outer Dao body, they could ignore the blockade of the Fruit of Sorrowless Heaven.’

However, no one would do such a thing.

Except for the Dragon and Snake Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva. After all, as a Pure Land Bodhisattva, he didn’t have a choice in the matter.

’That said, the Pure Land paid a heavy price to make this happen.’

’After all, although the Dragon and Snake Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva is of the Outer Dao, he had a future hope of converting to the orthodox path and finding an Earth Fruit to become a native Perfected Lord.’

’If he had succeeded, the Pure Land would have gathered Three Elements and produced a Late-stage Great Perfected Lord.’

’But now, in order to stop me, the Dragon and Snake Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva has been forced to revert to his Outer Dao body. He will likely never be able to reintegrate before his life comes to an end.’

From this perspective, the Pure Land had truly gone all in.

At this thought, Lü Yang suddenly broke into a grin. ”Perfect timing.”

The next second, the Hongyun Gold Attribute was in his grasp. The Incense Fire Great God formed the Yama Hall, and in an instant, the light of a Dao Fruit lit up on his body!

Fake Golden Position!

”Come out.”

Lü Yang looked into the depths of the Pure Land and crooked his finger. ”Today, I will achieve my Attainment by killing you!”
