Just a Useful Pawn in the Stain Sect

Chapter 58: Chapter 58: The Human-Harvest Sect

Lü Yang didn’t pay much attention to Wang Song. At most, he felt a pang of sentiment that his friend from past lives, Wang Baifeng actually had descendants.

’I’ll look after them in the next life if I get the chance.’ Right now, he had more important things to do.

Summoning his Flying Light, Lü Yang left his Cave Mansion. He took out the Chat Jade Scroll and began to study Theft to Sainthood.

An ancient proverb says: ”So long as sages do not die, great thieves will not cease.”

This doesn’t mean that sages are thieves. Rather, it means that when sages create laws for the world, they regulate people’s actions but also create opportunities for great thieves.

However, that was the interpretation of the Righteous Dao. The understanding in Theft to Sainthood was completely different.

According to Theft to Sainthood: Sages use their own rules to benefit themselves, treating those who do not follow as bandits. The so-called sages are the greatest thieves who steal from the world itself.

Therefore, to master this Body Enhancing Technique, one must establish a cultivation method for the world. When everyone follows this method, the cultivator can then steal the world’s fortune to nourish themselves. This was the true intent of the technique: ”The sage becomes the great thief, and the great thief becomes the Great Dao.”

”Steal from the mortal world to forge the Saint Golden Body.”

Once the Golden Body was forged, one’s physique would be as unyielding as ”the laws of a Saint, unchanging for ten thousand generations.” It ranked among the top ten of all the Body Enhancing Techniques in the Stain Sect.

Reading this, Lü Yang was left utterly speechless.

’Turning everyone in the world into cultivation resources... The Stain Sect is still the Stain Sect. Every time I start to develop a slightly better opinion of it, it always finds a new way to shock me...’

To be honest, ever since meeting Ming Zen, Yun Miaozhen, and others like them, Lü Yang’s opinion of the Righteous Dao had plummeted.

Admittedly, Righteous Sects like the Celestial Sword Pavilion were very good to their own people, meeting the standards of the Righteous Dao in every respect. But this was limited only to ”their own people.”

What did it mean to be ”one of their own”?

The Righteous Dao focused on karmic links, on past and present lives. If you accumulated good karma and Merit in a past life, then you were one of their own and would earn their favor.

Conversely, if you committed evil deeds and created negative karmic links in your past life, then even if you lived a blameless life in this one, you could never join the Righteous Dao. They would even kill you directly under the pretext of ”it’s for your own good,” ”to cleanse your karmic links,” or ”you’ll have your chance in the next life.” That Mad Woman, Yun Miaozhen, was a prime example.

Comparing the two, Lü Yang discovered the dividing line between the Righteous and Demon sects.

To the Stain Sect, all disciples were ”materials.” Thus, they recruited without hesitation, teaching all comers regardless of their background. Past lives and Merit were completely irrelevant.

The Righteous Dao, on the other hand, was all about ”acting on Heaven’s behalf.”

Reincarnation, karmic links, Fate... The Righteous Dao placed extreme importance on Merit, karma, and past lives, often recruiting disciples based on these factors.

Both had their pros and cons. The only real difference was which one was more inhumane.

Thinking of this, Lü Yang couldn’t help but feel exasperated. ’Not a single normal Sect. What in the world is wrong with this place... The system must be broken!’

Lost in thought, Lü Yang arrived in the depths of the Cloud Sea.

Soon, a majestic and vast black mountain range came into view. It was none other than the Yin Mountains, the headquarters of the Sanhe Association.

Just then, a loud laugh suddenly rang out:

”Junior Brother Lü, you’ve finally come out of seclusion!”

The next second, a figure identical to how he had looked thirty years ago appeared outside the Yin Mountains. Lü Yang smiled at the sight and cupped his hands in a salute.

”Greetings, Senior Brother Luo.”

”There’s no need for such formalities between us.”

Luo Wuya laughed and clapped Lü Yang on the shoulder. He had always held Lü Yang in high regard; otherwise, he wouldn’t have gone out of his way to send him the Theft to Sainthood Cultivation Technique.

He had also guessed the reason for Lü Yang’s visit.

”Junior Brother, you’re here about Theft to Sainthood, aren’t you?”

Lü Yang nodded. ”This technique is indeed profound and mysterious, but its scope is vast and it takes an extremely long time. I’m afraid it can’t be mastered overnight...”

”Hahaha,” Luo Wuya boomed with laughter. ”Junior Brother, you weren’t actually thinking of leaving the Stain Sect to start cultivating this technique from scratch in the mortal world, were you? The Stain Sect is vast and abundant in resources and ’materials.’ Why go through all that trouble? The Sect has long had a complete system for cultivating Theft to Sainthood.”

Lü Yang cupped his hands. ”Please enlighten me, Senior Brother.”

”Follow me.”

Luo Wuya led Lü Yang to a grand hall inside the Yin Mountains. In the center of the hall stood a massive Crystal Ball.

”This place is called the ’Simulation Realm’.”

Seeing Lü Yang’s confusion, Luo Wuya pointed to the Crystal Ball and explained, ”Don’t be fooled by its size. This is actually a creation of a Master of Dao!”

”A Master of Dao...!?”

Lü Yang’s heart trembled. Foundation Establishment cultivators were Perfected Persons, Golden Core cultivators were Perfected Lords, and only Nascent Soul cultivators earned the title of Master of Dao. This object was actually refined by such an existence?

”The Simulation Realm contains one hundred and forty million living people. Each one possesses powerful Blood Qi and a pure Soul, making a single person equivalent to more than ten ordinary mortals from the outside world. Whether for refining Artifacts or practicing Cultivation Techniques, they are Upper Grade materials. It’s perfectly suited for you to cultivate Theft to Sainthood, Junior Brother.”

Hearing this, Lü Yang sucked in a cold breath. ’One hundred and forty million materials...’

’It seems that by reaching the Final-phase of Qi Refining and joining the Sanhe Association, a Foundation Establishment Faction, I’ve finally earned the right to learn a little about the Stain Sect’s true depths.’

Just then, the Secret Realm suddenly flared with brilliant light.

The next second, a young man in a black robe emerged from it, his face contorted with rage. ”Damn it, a bunch of unruly peasants... I failed again!”

After saying this, the young man glanced at Luo Wuya, said nothing more, and left directly.

Lü Yang naturally kept quiet as well. He waited until the young man was far away before looking at Luo Wuya, only to find him looking rather smug.

”That’s another one of the Sect’s Direct Disciples, the only son of Perfected Chong Guang. His name is Chongming... Pay him no mind. He just failed at cultivating Theft to Sainthood again.”

”I won’t hide it from you, Junior Brother. Theft to Sainthood is not that easy to practice.”

At this point, Luo Wuya’s expression turned serious again. ”Don’t underestimate the people in this Secret Realm. Although they are ’materials,’ they are not fools.”

”As you know, Junior Brother, Theft to Sainthood requires you to create a cultivation method for the people out of thin air before you can cultivate it yourself. The more brilliant the method you create, the greater the returns upon success. However, we are not Masters of Dao. The techniques we create are mostly shallow and their flaws are easily spotted.”

”This is where failure in Theft to Sainthood comes from.”

”In the past, there have even been cases of disciples cultivating Theft to Sainthood whose true identities were discovered by the people inside. They were played along with and eventually got killed, becoming a joke in the Stain Sect.”

”So, you must think carefully about how you wish to cultivate this technique, Junior Brother.”

After speaking, Luo Wuya took out a Jade Scroll and handed it to Lü Yang. ”I also cultivated this technique back in the day, so I have some shallow experience to share.”

”Thank you, Senior Brother!”

”It’s all for the Sanhe Association. I’m waiting for you to emerge with great success, Junior Brother. If you truly master Theft to Sainthood, you won’t be considered weak among the Direct Disciples.”

Lü Yang’s eyebrows shot up. He understood the implication in Luo Wuya’s words.

Only after mastering Theft to Sainthood would he not be weak.

’In other words... I’m not impressive enough as I am now?’

Lü Yang’s expression didn’t change. He offered another respectful bow before walking up to the ’Simulation Realm’. He swept it with his Spiritual perception, and a flood of information poured into his mind.

’As expected of a creation from a Master of Dao...’ This Secret Realm could actually be ”configured”!

Culture, history, geography, and architecture could all be shaped according to his will. This Mighty Power to change Heaven and Earth with a single thought filled Lü Yang not only with awe, but also with immense apprehension.

Because a thought lingered in his mind, one he couldn’t shake.

’The Secret Realm is a creation of a Master of Dao. If a Master of Dao can do such terrifying things within the Secret Realm, then in the real world... do they possess the same Mighty Power?’

’To me, the living people in the Secret Realm are materials.’

’Then what are the Cultivators of the Stain Sect to a Master of Dao?’

Lü Yang didn’t dare to think about it any further. He could only sigh in resignation. ”Fucking Stain Sect... there are ’materials’ everywhere!”
