Triple X System

Deep in space at the edge of a black hole, a planet could be seen existing. It’s shape took the form of a heart with red veins running along it, adding more mystery and depth to it’s nature.

Venturing into the unfamiliar terrain, a figure could be seen dashing across the red sand with astonishing speed.

”Isn’t there any place inhabiting monsters?” Kyle frowned adding strength to his legs.

Glancing down, his eyes lingered on the unconscious woman in his clutch. Wearing the Aegis-V suit designed by Reze, stabilizing her condition.

[Don’t blame me, I wasn’t the one that signed the contract.] Snow shot back with a sharp ’mhm!’

’Fair enough.’ Kyle lightly sighed with an indifferent expression.

This was approximately 5 minutes, since he’d been running non-stop in search of a cover.

Since Argos fall, he knew Vladimir was bound to encounter him sooner or later. But one thing was for sure, he vowed to make him pay.

[Ehhm.. Kraken to Kyle? You’re still weak to go against a high ranked vampire.] Snow stated the obvious, further annoying Kyle.

’They’re still on our tail.’ He could feel the little vibrations in the sand, with the removal of Aegis-V suit.

Though they felt distant, they were infact very close.

[Well.. They are called insectoid swarms for a reason.] Snow replied with sarcasm.

’And I wonder who’s to blame for that.’

After Argos death, he wasted no time existing the premises for two main reasons. First was because the noise from the battle was bound to attract more creatures, which would be a task he didn’t need currently.

Second and the main important reason, was because of the active quest the system had given him earlier.

[Find out more information of the blood puppets.]

The description was simple, yet so vague like searching for a needle in a haystack. Sure he was certain there was bound to be more of Vladimir blood puppets here, but the system didn’t specify which.

Which led to the theory of there being more than just a set of blood puppets created by just vampires, but other beings entirely.

Running a bit, he stopped by a narrow path with surprisingly few trees. Not the mundane green leaves and brown branches, but a pale ash bark with red spots and black leaves. Some red fruits shaped like apples hung from the branches, pulsing with an older red energy.

At the center was a wide stream occupied by musky black water, flowing freely along it’s designated path. Jogging Kyle’s memory to a familiar scene he’d watched play out a million years ago.

”Maybe we’re in hell.” He joked, the similarities between kraken and hell were just too close. Deadly mutated monsters, almost barren landscape, poisonous corroded air, etc.

[You’re really fun at parties..] Snow clicked her imaginary tongue at Kyle’s childish behavior.

”It’s my turn to go hunting the Nabakayak.” A low distorted voice caught his attention.

Taking cover behind a slope, he used shadow walk on himself and elara to conceal their presence. Due to the curve of the slope, it provided great cover against the approaching figures.

”I’ve told you many times shaiyak..” The second voice groaned, clearly frustrated by the number of times it has been asked this.

”Only when you come of age, will you be able to hunt with the Faraks.” Finished the more matured voice.

”That’s not fair.”

”Nothing is. Now come, we’ll be late for the gathering. There’s news about a discovery of humans on kraken.”

Passing by, their movement was quick and silent. Almost like they possessed no foot, only when they’d reached a considerable distance away did Kyle cancel shadow walk.

”Are those.. Slimes?” Kyle raised a brow, perplexed watching the wobbly shapeless creatures rolling.

[Not entirely.. Though they look identical to slimes they are of a different species entirely.] Snow explained.

[Okay, okay, don’t panic. We’re not dying today. They’re probably gonna come looking for you so we better move master.] His cheeky system spoke in an eloquent maiden tone.

”Suggestions? Wise sensei.” Kyle matched her playful banter, to take his mind off the chaos unfolding.

[I’m scanning ahead while you’re trying not to trip over that black glass. Swarm’s still on us—yeah, I know, gross. Too many of them, too fast. We can’t fight that out here. See that half-buried pylon to the left? No heat inside, no big nasties around. Just move. Now.]

”You’re sure it’s clear? Last ’safe spot’ had a tentacle.”

[And you handled that fine. This one’s clean. 40 meters out, just two burrowers. They don’t care about us.] Snow reassured with an awkward chuckle.

”Not helping!”

Having no other chose he headed towards the direction pointed out by snow, making sure to hide hide using his surroundings.

”Not bad.” A light smile popped up on Kyle’s face as he drops in, back to the cold metal, breathing hard.

”You’re getting better at this. Almost like you actually care.”

[Don’t get soft on me. I care because if you die, I have to find a new host, and the paperwork’s awful.]

”They’re here.”

Outside, the swarm passes by, drawn toward noise down the ridge.

[See? Gone. You’ve got five minutes. Breathe, check your gear.] Snow proudly gave out commands, like a seasoned expert on kraken.

[I’ll scream if anything gets close.]

”Not sure how that helps, but thanks snow.”

[Yeah, yeah. Save the gratitude. Use the time.]

First thing he did next was checking Elara’s condition, which was still stabilizing.

[AEGIS-V SUIT ENERGY: 45%]

Apparently, the suit was extracting the dark energy mixed with corroded air intake in her body. Which took a huge toll on the remaining energy, he calculated would last for about half the day.

”Snow, can we make a raw void silica usable for the Aegis-V?”

It was a strange thought that’d crossed his mind, but running out of options here translated to death or mutation.

[Not like this. Raw void silica will either fizzle or try to nuke your suit’s stabilizers if you feed it to the core now. You’ve gotta refine it first.]

She flicks a list onto his HUD.

[Here’s what you’re missing: Abyssal dust– stabilizes the void energy so it doesn’t go chaotic. Etherglass – gives the matrix structure so it doesn’t shatter under pressure. Catalyst – either a pure mana crystal or me, to align the energy into usable mana.] Snow carefully explains, separating the pro and cons.

[Once you’ve got those, the suit’s cooling vents can handle the heat and pressure to refine it. About ten minutes, but only if we’re secure. Right now you’re short on all three, so hold onto the theory and don’t try anything dumb.]

Nodding Kyle decided to check his progress since reaching level 50.
