I Just Wanted to Teach Cultivation, But Goddesses Keep Coming!

Chapter 381: Chapter 381 I Trained for Ten Million Years and All I Got Was This Stinky Beard

“Alright, everyone, listen to this!” one teacher shouted, waving his hands to gather attention.

His voice carried across the courtyard, cutting through the scattered conversations and drawing more and more people toward him.

“What is it now?”

“You look like you’ve just struck gold! Out with it already!”

The surrounding teachers gradually closed in, forming a loose circle around him.

Even those who had been speaking bitterly just moments ago turned their attention over, curiosity overtaking their frustration.

Taking a deep breath, the man straightened his back and spoke loudly, “Mentor Lin Feng said he understands our concerns. He knows what we’ve been going through.”

A ripple passed through the crowd.

“He believes that teachers are the very foundation of the next generation… that without us, the future would grow weak, misguided, and ultimately fall into decline.” This time, no one interrupted.

The noisy courtyard slowly quieted, replaced by a heavy, attentive silence. Many teachers unconsciously straightened, their expressions shifting as his words struck deeper than they expected.

“He also said…” the man continued, his voice trembling slightly, whether from excitement or disbelief even he didn’t know, “that he values every single one of us. Not just as instructors but as the pillars holding up the academy itself.”

Some of the older teachers exchanged glances, their hardened expressions softening just a little.

“And because of that,” he said, pausing for dramatic effect as his eyes swept across the crowd, “he’s made a pledge… he will personally cover all of our salaries!”

For a moment, the world seemed to freeze. No one spoke. No one moved. It was as if time itself had paused.

“What?! He’s going to pay us himself?!” someone finally blurted out, breaking the silence.

“That’s impossible… are you sure you heard that right?!”

Murmurs exploded in all directions, disbelief written plainly across every face.

“And not just that!” the first teacher hurriedly added, raising his voice to regain control of the crowd. “He said he’s going to double our current wages!”

“Double?!”

“You’re joking!”

“That’s… that’s an insane amount of money!”

The courtyard erupted.

Some teachers grabbed the sleeves of those beside them, demanding confirmation. Others stood frozen, their minds struggling to process the scale of what they had just heard.

One had to understand… Spirit Spring Academy housed nearly a thousand teachers. Even if their salaries were paid in gold coins rather than precious spirit stones, the total sum would still be staggering.

To sustain such an expense alone wasn’t just difficult… it was something most would never even dare to imagine.

“This isn’t generosity anymore…”

“This is madness…”

“No… this is confidence,” an older teacher muttered under his breath, his eyes flickering with a complex light. A heavy silence slowly settled once again, but this time it was different.

The bitterness that had once filled their hearts… fear of losing their positions, resentment toward Lin Feng’s overwhelming influence began to crumble piece by piece.

In its place, something new emerged. Respect. Gratitude. And for some… a growing sense of admiration they could no longer suppress. Lin Feng hadn’t just solved their problem.

He had overturned their expectations entirely.

“Bah! This has to be a lie,” one teacher scoffed loudly, crossing his arms as he looked around at the others. His expression was full of doubt, even a hint of ridicule. “I won’t believe a word of it until I see the money in my own hands.”

A number of teachers nearby nodded in agreement. After all, the claim was simply too outrageous. Paying nearly a thousand teachers out of one’s own pocket and doubling their wages on top of that?

It sounded more like a fantasy than reality.

“Exactly. Words are cheap.”

“Let’s see if he can actually follow through.” Skepticism lingered heavily in the air. But just an hour later, everything changed.

The same teacher who had spoken so confidently before now stood completely still, as if struck by lightning. His earlier arrogance had vanished without a trace, replaced by pure, unfiltered shock.

In his hands was a heavy pouch.

The faint clinking sound of metal echoed as his fingers tightened around it. Slowly, almost mechanically, he opened the bag and looked inside. Gold. A full pouch of gold coins.

Not only that but the amount was unmistakably double what he usually received. His throat went dry.

“T-this…” he stammered, his voice trembling. “This is real…”

Around him, identical scenes were unfolding across the academy. Teachers who had doubted, mocked, or dismissed the announcement were now staring at their own payments in disbelief.

Some laughed nervously, others checked the contents again and again, as if afraid it might disappear.

“Now I believe…” the first teacher muttered, his expression turning solemn as he clutched the pouch tightly. “Mentor Lin Feng is no ordinary man… he must be a saint among men!”

His words were no longer questioned. At this point, no one dared to doubt.

Lin Feng hadn’t just made a promise and he had fulfilled it instantly, without hesitation. He had even paid in advance, leaving no room for uncertainty or suspicion.

Such decisiveness… such overwhelming wealth… It completely overturned everyone’s expectations. Of course, Lin Feng’s actions were not without purpose.

He had no intention of replacing the teachers or rendering them useless. On the contrary, he understood better than anyone that an academy could not function without a proper foundation.

If everything were handed out too easily… if he personally taught and guided every student in all aspects then the discipline and structure necessary for true growth would be lost.

Cultivation was not something that should be made effortless. It required hardship, repetition, and a solid base.

Because of this, Lin Feng had already planned the roles of every teacher within the academy’s future. He would not preach the Dao on a daily basis.

Instead, he would leave much of the foundational training to the teachers… physical conditioning, discipline, basic techniques, and structured learning.

This was especially important for the younger students, whose bodies and minds still needed to be shaped properly before stepping onto the path of true cultivation.
