A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1217: Chapter 1217: Impossible to Forgive!

When netizens saw Lin Jiamu’s post on Weibo, they immediately understood that he was clarifying that there was no emotional dispute between him and Mu Yan.

And he has always cared for Mu Yan because he hurt her family when he was young, so he wants to make it up to her.

As for why Mu Yan slapped him, maybe it’s because she discovered his true nature, leading to their falling out?

But the words also suggest that he harbors some unrequited feelings for Mu Yan.

”I think I understand why Lin Jiamu pays so much attention to Mu Yan’s every move now, and I also understand why after Mu Yan announced she had a boyfriend, he stopped paying attention; it’s not that Mu Yan cheated, but he knew she already had someone protecting her, so he retreated quietly, kind of sad.”

”No wonder netizens were scolding Mu Yan for cheating and angrily dumping Lin Jiamu earlier; she didn’t come out to clarify, probably because some truths can’t be told to outsiders— I don’t think Mu Yan is that heartless.”

”Am I the only one curious about what happened back then? What mistake did Jiamu make towards Mu Yan’s family?”

”Lin Jiamu truly loves Mu Yan, he’d blacken himself just to help clear her name, tsk tsk, could win the most devoted male lead of the year.”

”Could those above stop being cynical? No public figure would admit their unsightly past when under the spotlight.”

”If what Lin Jiamu said is true, we owe Mu Yan an apology.”

...

Soon after, Lin Jiamu posted another Weibo.

Lin JiamuV: Regarding the alleged indecent photos of Mu Yan circulating online, I can guarantee with my character, it definitely isn’t her. I met her when she was eighteen, and have closely followed her ever since. Although her brother needed large amounts for medical expenses, I always anonymously donated to him, but she worked several jobs each day alone, without time or energy for those things. Of course, the previous matter of Zhou Lifen forcibly donating to her was my oversight, but this also proves if she were a fame-chasing girl, she wouldn’t have been held hostage by Zhou Lifen’s ”good intentions” back then.

I don’t know what those slandering her intend to achieve, but there’s a saying, heaven sees as man acts, wrongs aren’t punished instantly, just when the time hasn’t come yet; I deeply understand this.

Although the heat regarding the indecent photos online has died down, Mu Yan’s fame is so great that many are still paying attention to this matter.

”I also think the woman in the photos isn’t Mu Yan, it’s likely a matter of angles.”

”Everyone knows Mu Yan has a benefactor. If she truly were such a promiscuous woman, could her benefactor have settled everything for her?”

”What kind of character guarantee can a thug like Lin Jiamu offer? Haha, I wasted my years as a fan of yours, trash.”

”Get lost, we don’t need fans like you who bash our Mu Mu.”

...

At noon, Mu Yan saw Lin Jiamu’s clarification post, glanced at it, and switched to her own Weibo.

Many of Lin Jiamu’s fans were asking her to forgive him.

”Jiamu already knows he was wrong, please forgive him; to err is human, who is faultless?”

”Considering Lin Jiamu’s clarification on your behalf, don’t hold grudges, look past it, having a friend like him is worthwhile.”

”Sorry, we misunderstood you earlier, from now on we’ll protect you on Jiamu’s behalf.”

...

Mu Yan logged out of Weibo and looked out the window; today was a sunny day, the bright sun made the view much clearer.

Clearly, that night she was consumed with anger, but within just a couple of weeks, it seemed like she had already forgotten about it.

But she knew she could never forgive Lin Jiamu.

Not every apology can be met with ”it’s okay.”
