A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1126: Chapter 1126: I Disagree!

On the way there, Mrs. Ning was full of anger.

But when she learned that Mu Yan had once lost her memory, and that she had already married Jiang Jingheng before returning to the Zhuang Family, and that last year when the Zhuang Family agreed to continue the marriage contract between the two families, they didn’t know she was married, Mrs. Ning found it easier to accept.

Besides, at the beginning, both families didn’t insist that the marriage had to go through; it depended on the will of the younger generation, so even if she wanted to make a fuss, she had no case.

Still, she felt somewhat unsettled in her heart. The first time she saw Mu Yan, she liked the girl immediately. She could only blame it on her son for not being lucky enough.

When she asked about Zhuang Ning and found out she had passed away, Mrs. Ning was deeply saddened. They had been very good friends back then. Who could have imagined that after more than ten years with no news of her friend, the first news she’d hear was her death?

However, during lunch, when Mrs. Ning saw Jiang Jingheng, she was dissatisfied in every way.

Besides being a bit better looking than her son and a little younger, he had no other advantages.

But young girls these days are too naïve, easily deceived by men’s sweet talk.

After lunch at the Zhuang Family, Mrs. Ning left with Ning Ze.

On the way, she kept complaining about how good cabbages were being devoured by pigs and blamed Ning Shishen for not being ambitious enough to seize the opportunity.

Finally, she brought up Ning Ze, ”Where have you been these past few days?”

”Just at a friend’s place,” Ning Ze replied vaguely.

Mrs. Ning looked at him suspiciously, ”A friend? I think it’s a girlfriend, right?”

Realizing his mother had guessed correctly, Ning Ze didn’t try to hide it, ”Yeah.”

”You brat, you’re just as worrisome as your brother.” Mrs. Ning twisted her son’s ear, saying, ”We haven’t even met her yet, and you’re already meeting her parents? Is this how you do things?”

”Mom, stop twisting. If you keep twisting, my ear will fall off,” Ning Ze pleaded.

”It’ll be better if it falls off. You don’t listen to me anyway.” Mrs. Ning snorted.

”Mom, haven’t you always wanted to have a grandchild?”

Mrs. Ning immediately let go of her son upon hearing this, looking at him expectantly, ”Are you saying she’s expecting?”

But then she didn’t look too pleased, ”How could this girl be so indiscreet, getting pregnant before marriage?!”

Ning Ze was displeased, ”Mom, what nonsense are you talking about? She’s not pregnant before marriage!”

”Then what did you mean just now?” Mrs. Ning asked with a frown.

Ning Ze said earnestly, ”I mean, I’ve decided on her, and as long as she agrees, I’m going to marry her!”

Mrs. Ning looked at her son like she was looking at a fool, ”Son, did something shock you?”

”Mom, stop talking nonsense. I’m serious,” he said.

”I’m serious too,” she replied.

Ning Ze, ”...”

He was a bit speechless, ”Fine, don’t worry about it. Wait for my notice later.”

”You brat, what do you mean ’don’t worry about it’? How can I not worry about your marriage? Alright, when will you bring the girl for me to meet? Stop hiding her all the time. I thought you were just playing around,” Mrs. Ning said, somewhat irritated.

”Hmm, after spring begins, I’ll bring her to meet you. I’m sure you’ll like her.”

Mrs. Ning looked at her son’s bright demeanor, knowing that he was really serious this time.

She asked, ”What about the girl’s family background?”

”Mom, what era do you think this is, still talking about family backgrounds? But she’s quite capable, and her income isn’t any less than mine.”

Mrs. Ning looked at him, surprised, ”What does she do? Don’t tell me she’s in the entertainment industry?”

”Yeah, she’s a singer.”

”I don’t agree!” Mrs. Ning’s face immediately turned sour.
