A-List Actress: Paper Marriage but Pampering Billionaire

Chapter 1065: Chapter 1065: Toasting with Wine

Guan Chao saw the two of them coming in, stood up, and said with a straightforward expression, ”Nuannuan, brother-in-law, Happy New Year.”

Mu Yan frowned slightly, brother-in-law? Then who is her sister? Does he have no shame?

Guan Chao seemed to know what she was thinking and laughed, ”I’m two years older than you. When we were young, you used to call me Brother Chao. We can’t let our childhood friendship be ruined because of last time’s accidental mistake, can we?”

Mu Yan smiled slightly, ”Of course not.”

She looked at his arm and said coolly, ”Is your arm better?”

Guan Chao felt a sharp pain in his arms and laughed, ”Thanks for asking, much better.”

”Really? I was really worried that your arms might be ruined,” Mu Yan said casually, linking arms with Jiang Jingheng, and walked inside, saying to Mrs. Zhuang, ”Grandma, what have you all been doing this afternoon?”

The old lady laughed, ”What else, chatting. Your Sister Lin Jia came over in the afternoon, but you weren’t here.”

”That’s really unfortunate, I’ll make an appointment with her tomorrow.”

”Okay.”

Guan Chao looked helplessly at Jiang Jingheng sitting next to him, ”Young Master Jiang, my sister has a temper like a porcupine, aren’t you afraid of being pricked?”

”I actually think she has a soft heart,” Jiang Jingheng replied, his light brown eyes showing not a hint of warmth.

Guan Chao showed a slightly awkward smile, ”Looks like I should thank Young Master Jiang for being lenient.”

Jiang Jingheng didn’t respond and looked away.

Zhuang Yi walked over and said, ”What are you guys talking about?”

Guan Chao laughed, ”I’m apologizing to President Jiang for last time’s incident. Tonight, I must drink more with him.”

”Alright, we’ll have a few drinks tonight,” Zhuang Yi agreed.

Thinking of how Jiang Jingheng silently took away his little cousin, he felt suffocated and had long wanted to deal with it.

Guan Chao’s drinking capacity is well known in the circle, and he wouldn’t back down against Jiang Jingheng. Tonight was going to be interesting.

Soon, dinner was ready.

At the dining table, Guan Chao first solemnly apologized to Mu Yan and Jiang Jingheng for the previous events, then punished himself with three glasses.

The old master and old lady saw his sincerity, and since the matter started with Zhuang Chujiao, they didn’t show any displeasure towards him.

Zhuang Yi poured wine for Jiang Jingheng and Guan Chao and said, ”There’s nothing you can’t talk about at the table, come on, let’s not go home if we’re not drunk tonight.”

Guan Chao laughed, ”Brother Zhuang Yi said it like that, I certainly won’t refuse.”

”Zhuang Yi, don’t mess around,” Ruan Xinyu said with a frown.

”Mom, it’s New Year, Nuannuan and Jingheng are back, such a joyful occasion, let’s have a good drink,” Zhuang Yi pleaded.

Ruan Xinyu looked at her son helplessly, ”I don’t worry about you, I worry about Jingheng and Guan Chao having to accompany your antics.”

”Alright, let the kids drink, they won’t have work tomorrow and nothing to do,” Zhuang Zeyang said.

Ruan Xinyu heard her husband say that and eased up.

Mu Yan actually didn’t want Jiang Jingheng to drink too much, but since it was her maternal home, in front of elders, if she controlled him too much, it would make him lose face.

She considerately helped him with some dishes, so that he could eat a bite while drinking and wouldn’t get drunk easily.

Youngsters can be rowdy, but the elders can’t accompany the rowdiness.

So the old master and old lady finished first, and to avoid restricting the young ones, they left the table earlier.

Ruan Xinyu and the others also finished eating and prepared to leave the table. Seeing Mu Yan still sitting, she said, ”Nuannuan, let them drink, let’s go to the living room to chat.”

Mu Yan looked at the wine in the bottle, knowing these people would drink for a while, nodded, ”Okay.”

She stood up and went to the living room, and as soon as she sat down, she saw Zhuang Chujiao coming out with tea.
