Today I went to the sunflower field again and saw her.

She was holding a paintbrush, and the golden sunflowers bloomed under her brush.

I was afraid she would notice me, so I hid in the bushes nearby.

The more I looked at her, the more I found her beautiful, just like a sunflower.

20XX-9-5 Monday, Light Rain

It rained today. I thought she wouldn’t go, but as soon as I arrived, I saw someone with an umbrella in the field.

She was bowing her head, observing the sunflowers.

Suddenly, I felt a bit jealous of those sunflowers under her hand.

The innkeeper told me she would leave tomorrow, but I haven’t even spoken a word to her.

I ran to the sunflower field; the easel was there, but she was gone.

So, I took the sunflower painting she finished.

Only then did I find out her pen name is Nuanyang, which is lovely, just like her.

20XX-9-7 Wednesday, Sunny

In the early morning, I waited outside the house she stayed in, but the innkeeper told me she left last night due to a family matter.

I felt very lost. Am I really going to miss her?

Anyhow, I must find her.

Mu Yan, the girl I love.

When Mu Yan read this, she was utterly shocked. Indeed, that year she went to a sunflower field to sketch for a competition, but one painting went missing.

At the time, she thought it was blown away by the wind. She looked for it for a long time but couldn’t find it, and eventually had to give up.

She didn’t expect that it had been stolen by someone.

Suddenly, the diary she was holding was taken away, and she looked up to see Jiang Jingheng standing in front of her, not knowing when he had approached.

She softly asked, ”How many years have you been in love with me?”

Jiang Jingheng pinched her face and raised an eyebrow, ”Didn’t learn math well?”

Mu Yan got a bit angry, lifted her hand, and pinched his face too, ”I want you to say it!”

Jiang Jingheng caught her hand, kissed it, and said, ”From the age of twenty to twenty-seven, seven years, and of course, it will last a lifetime.”

Mu Yan felt that this was the sweetest thing he had ever said.

She complained, ”Then why didn’t you tell me?”

”Is it important?” Jiang Jingheng looked indifferent, ”Whether I say it or not, my heart for you won’t change.”

Mu Yan was taken aback, realizing she had been worrying needlessly all along.

She softly asked, ”Then what do you like about me?”

Jiang Jingheng cupped her face, his expression extremely gentle, ”I like everything about you. You caught my heart at first sight. The second time, I was sure if I ever dated or married, it would be you. Whether it’s your character, appearance, or even a casual smile, they all deeply move me and fascinate me.”

Mu Yan blushed at his compliments, ”I’m not that great.”

”In my eyes, you are the best.”

Mu Yan looked into his eyes full of affection, and it was at this moment her heart truly settled.

She playfully scolded, ”You’re blinded by love, seeing me as the most beautiful.”

”I hope you’ll be my only Xi Shi.”

Mu Yan was sweetened by his words, still feeling a bit unreal. He had secretly loved her for six years.

If it were anyone else, she would have thought they were obsessive. How could anyone be so persistent? But he was different.

Thinking of something, her face changed instantly, ”Then, wasn’t our first meeting at the hotel a coincidence? Did you plan it on purpose?”
