Immortality by Inheriting Friends' Legacies

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: I’ll Take All of Qinxiang House’s Qi Blood Pills!

”Fang... Boss!”

The news of Yun Wan personally promising to give the Blood Food Shop to Fang Xu had already spread quickly. The shop’s old Shopkeeper and his two assistants had also received the word. Seeing Fang Xu arrive, the three immediately rushed forward with fawning expressions.

”Now that you’ve taken over the shop, Boss, how do you plan to run it?” the old Shopkeeper asked cautiously.

Run it? Fang Xu remained silent. He glanced at the Blood Food in the shop, and a thought crossed his mind. ”How much Blood Food is left?”

”Boss, there are still two thousand catties of Blood Food,” the old Shopkeeper quickly replied. ”All fresh!”

Fine!

He thought, ”This system is really something. When it says two thousand catties, it means exactly two thousand catties, without a single extra ounce to spare.” Well, two thousand it was.

”You two, deliver all this Blood Food to my house,” Fang Xu ordered. ”Once it’s all moved out, close the shop down for now.”

He had no intention of getting involved in this business, which meant he needed to sell the Blood Food Shop as soon as possible. He couldn’t afford to wait until Yun Wan left Fenglin Town and someone else snatched the property. But the question was, who should he sell it to? After pondering for a moment, an excellent candidate suddenly popped into his mind.

Leaving the Blood Food Shop, Fang Xu headed straight for Zhiyuan Hall in town.

Fenglin Town originally had three Martial Masters. Now that Zhang Hong was dead, only two remained. Since the Wu family already controlled the entire town’s Qi Blood Pill and medicinal herb trade, his first thought was to sell the shop to Lu Zhiyuan.

Zhiyuan Hall had no other properties in Fenglin Town. Furthermore, with Lu Zhiyuan’s cultivation at the Third Realm of the Martial Master level, he was more than capable of protecting the Blood Food business. More importantly, Fang Xu felt that Lu Zhiyuan was far more reliable than the Wu family.

”Fang the Kid, here to see the Land Master?” Li Yushan asked with a chuckle at the entrance of Zhiyuan Hall.

Fang Xu cupped his hands slightly. ”Li, is the Land Master in?”

Li Yushan nodded, then added with a hint of envy, ”I heard you scored a massive windfall today? When I go to buy Blood Food in the future, you have to give me a discount.”

”Definitely,” Fang Xu hastily replied with a polite smile before stepping into Zhiyuan Hall.

In the inner courtyard of Zhiyuan Hall, Lu Zhiyuan stood with his hands behind his back, watching a young girl practice. The figure in red wielded a seven-foot spear with broad, sweeping movements. Her Spear Technique was highly exquisite, perfectly embodying the essence of the saying: *First, a glint of cold steel; then, a thrust fierce as a dragon.*

”Land Master,” Fang Xu said, approaching and bowing respectfully.

Lu Zhiyuan gave a slight nod, waiting until the girl withdrew her stance before beckoning Fang Xu forward. ”Have you encountered a bottleneck in Refining Viscera?”

Fang Xu gently shook his head and cupped his hands. ”My progress in Refining Viscera is fine. I came today to discuss a business deal with you, Land Master.”

Business? Lu Zhiyuan pondered briefly upon hearing this, then chuckled. ”Are you planning to sell that Blood Food Shop to me?”

Fenglin Town was small; any minor incident would quickly spread throughout the entire area. Evidently, Lu Zhiyuan had already caught wind of the news.

”Are you not interested, Land Master?” Fang Xu asked.

Lu Zhiyuan didn’t answer immediately. He paced slowly in thought for a moment before saying, ”I am willing to offer a thousand taels of silver to buy the shop. What do you say?”

The system had already provided the exact price of a thousand taels of silver, but Fang Xu still wanted to fight for some extra benefits for himself. ”That works, but I have one small request,” Fang Xu said after a moment’s thought.

Lu Zhiyuan nodded. ”Let’s hear it.”

”I’d like to ask for a special privilege from you, Land Master. From now on, whenever I purchase Blood Food from you, I’d like a half-price discount.”

A Martial Artist’s cultivation relied heavily on massive amounts of Blood Food to nourish the body. If he could secure a fifty percent discount, he would save a fortune over time.

Hearing this request, Lu Zhiyuan chuckled. Beside him, the young girl, Lu Qingluo, couldn’t help but curl her lip. She was about to speak but was interrupted by Lu Zhiyuan. ”I agree to your terms. Qingluo, go tell Yunshan to fetch a thousand taels of silver.”

Fang Xu hadn’t expected Lu Zhiyuan to be so straightforward—so straightforward, in fact, that it made him regret not pushing for a seventy or even ninety percent discount...

Li Yushan quickly brought the thousand taels of silver to Lu Zhiyuan. The thousand taels were not physical ingots, but rather a universal silver note of the Great Yu Dynasty.

Taking the silver note, Lu Zhiyuan handed it to Fang Xu. ”Here is the money, but I need you to write up an agreement to prevent the Yun family from causing me trouble in the future.”

Fang Xu tucked the silver note into his robe and smiled. ”Of course.”

Leaving Zhiyuan Hall, Fang Xu patted the silver note against his chest, feeling its heavy significance. The events of the day had somewhat exceeded his expectations. He had only gone out to the street to buy some Qi Blood Pills, never anticipating he would encounter all these situations.

Right! Zhang Mingliang, Xie Xiaoqi, and Liang San were all dead. What about his friend list...?

Sinking his consciousness deep into his mind, Fang Xu discovered that the names of Zhang Mingliang and the other two had turned gray on the friend list, and the percentage values next to their names had all dropped to ”0”!

”Life Value?” Fang Xu muttered, a strange expression on his face.

Did the percentage next to each friend’s name represent their Life Value? Staring at Wu Ningxue, who had 61% remaining, and Chu Li, who had 39%, Fang Xu frowned slightly. By the looks of it, neither Wu Ningxue of Qinxiang House nor Chu Li had much time left to live!

Only the number behind Wang Erhu’s name had dropped, going from 91% down to 88%.

Wasn’t this decrease a bit too fast? Fang Xu felt slightly puzzled. It had only been two days since he and Wang Erhu became friends, yet his Life Value had already dropped by 3%. Calculated at this rate, Wang Erhu would be done for in two or three months at most.

His luck was quite good. To think the random friends he picked would turn out to be so cooperative! Fang Xu rubbed his hands together excitedly, already calculating what inheritance he could claim once Wu Ningxue and Chu Li kicked the bucket.

Carrying the thousand-tael silver note, Fang Xu made a trip to Qi’s house to retrieve the five taels of secret savings hidden inside his pillow. Then, he headed straight for Qinxiang House to buy some Qi Blood Pills to take home.

”Fang is here,” Chu Li greeted him warmly upon seeing him at Qinxiang House.

”Elder Li, I’ll take however many Qi Blood Pills Qinxiang House currently has in stock!” Following in Zhang Mingliang’s footsteps from over ten days ago, Fang Xu delivered the line with incredible domineering flair.

Chu Li looked at him in total shock before excitedly replying, ”Please wait a moment, Young Master Fang. I’ll go fetch the boss right away.”

Not long after Chu Li left, Wu Ningxue swayed her hips as she approached Fang Xu. ”Your presence graces our humble establishment, Young Master Fang.”

Hearing Wu Ningxue’s teasing tone, Fang Xu let out an awkward smile. ”Please don’t make fun of me, Wu. May I ask how many Qi Blood Pills Qinxiang House has in stock right now?”

Wu Ningxue didn’t answer right away. Instead, she smiled playfully and gestured with her hand. ”Would Young Master Fang care to join me in the private room for a chat?”

The private room? Fang Xu’s mind stirred; he had already roughly guessed Wu Ningxue’s intentions.

”If you have your eyes on the Blood Food Shop, Wu, then I can only say I’m sorry.” As he spoke, he pulled out the thousand-tael silver note from his robe. ”I’ve already sold the Blood Food Shop to the Land Master.”

”Lu Zhiyuan?” Wu Ningxue furrowed her delicate brows, a flash of displeasure crossing her face. ”Fang the Kid, Lu Zhiyuan is just an outsider. To think you didn’t even mention such a great deal to me first.”

Fang Xu scratched his head and remained silent. Seeing this, Wu Ningxue knew the matter was settled and that further words were meaningless. She promptly stated, ”Qinxiang House still has seventy Qi Blood Pills left. That will be seven hundred taels of silver.”

”You still owe me one Qi Blood Pill from before, Wu.” Seeing Wu Ningxue getting serious, Fang Xu wasn’t about to back down either. He was the one spending money to buy things—why should he suffer this nonsense for no reason?

”You...” Wu Ningxue glared at him with her beautiful eyes, then snapped in a huff, ”Elder Li, charge him six hundred and ninety taels!”

Fang Xu curled his lip, not bothering to stoop to her level.
