Apocalypse Rebirth: Making Billions With My Fortune-Telling Skill

April clenched her fists tightly, her mind spiraling so deeply into the dark metrics of survival hoarding that the sounds of the warehouse completely faded out.

Bark!

Rufus let out a sharp, booming bark that echoed off the high corrugated steel ceilings. The sound instantly snapped April right out of her trance.

She blinked, taking a long, steadying breath. Right. It might be a loss, but if I utilize the next few days to store an enormous volume of the water before the upgrade, it will easily make up for the deficit. I won’t lose a single cent of the capital I plan to generate.

She gritted her teeth. But... Now I will really need to focus on hoarding medical supplies. Once the spring is gone, I won’t have an infinite healing cheat to automatically cure toxins and physical wounds.

With a silent flick of her mind, she cleared the system notification. I know exactly what I need to do.

”Are you alright, sweetheart?” Nat asked, his lips curling into a wicked, thoroughly entertained smirk as he stepped into her line of sight. ”You looked like you were about to commit murder just now. Honestly, I was just about to go look for some popcorn to enjoy the show.”

”No, I wasn’t planning to become a psychopath, thank you very much,” April exclaimed dryly, pushing past him to keep walking toward the massive stacks of crates.

She glanced at his tight clothing out of the corner of her eye. ”And when exactly do you plan to finally get an outfit that matches your actual size? That tracksuit... it is clearly suffering under the strain.”

Nat let out a low chuckle, falling into step beside her. ”What? Wanna deny that you were secretly checking out my abs this whole time, little seer?”

April paused for a fraction of a second, a sudden wave of goosebumps riding over her skin. She turned her head, fixing him with a completely detached, icy glare.

”That is not even funny, Mr. Collins.”

”What? I’m not your type?” Nat snickered, adjusting his shades. ”Is that the real reason why you’ve rejected my proposals time and time again?”

”Ignored,” April claimed simply.

She turned her back on his grin and finally marched deep into the ocean of resources, ready to begin the haul.

She stepped deeper into the center aisle of the first hangar, purposely putting distance between herself and Nat’s lingering laughter.

She drew in a slow breath, letting the vast, cold space of the warehouse settle around her. Intake, she thought silently, her eyes locking onto the first row of steel shelves and just like that, the entire 50 meter radius was swept I to her spatial dimension, all without the shelves of course.

With every steady, unbothered stride, a chilling distortion rippled through the shelves, sucking in all the goods. Massive, multi-ton pallets of industrial canned goods, sacks of grain, beets, and potatoes, kitchen and house decorations, and stack after stack of heavy wooden furniture vanished into thin air.

One second they were occupying physical dimensions on the iron racks; the next, the shelves were left completely bare, showing nothing but a light layer of disturbed dust.

Nat had casually trailed behind her, his boots thudding idly against the concrete, but as the seconds bled into minutes, his lazy stride slowed to a complete halt.

He had seen her pull out her glowing crystalline orb before, and he had watched small items disappear into nowhere, but watching this level of wholesale mass consumption in real-time was entirely different.

It was an unvarnished, terrifying distortion of the reality he had spent his entire life dominating.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds of solid matter were simply evaporating out of existence the exact moment her shadow passed them by. It looked like magic, or a glitch in the world’s primary matrix. None of it made sense. But that was the point. Because it didn’t make sense, he found himself even more intrigued by it.

”Just where the hell have you been hiding all my life, sweetheart?” Nat murmured under his breath, his chaotic eyes widening behind his dark shades with a raw trace of genuine fascination.

Standing a few paces back, Samuel’s brows furrowed tightly at the remark. His jaw set into a rigid line as he pointedly ignored the mafia lord, though his inner ledger recorded another black mark against the man’s name.

April was far out of earshot, completely detached from their silent friction. Her mind was on her system interface glowing before her eyes as she kept track of every cubic meter being consumed by the harvest.

From the first warehouse, she moved into the second, then the third, the fourth, until her sneakers finally crossed the threshold of the seventh hangar.

The staff members had been cleared out before they arrived. But if they had been there, watching from outside, it would’ve looked like nothing more than a casual afternoon inspection stroll, not knowing the extraction activity being carried out inside.

As April swept the final pallet of automated kitchen appliances into her domain, she stopped, letting her gaze drift to the system window where her storage capacity was being displayed.

[Spatial Capacity Inventory: 78,000 / 100,000 Cubic Meters Allocated.]

Almost there, she thought, a faint, dark sense of security warming her chest.

This was infinitely better than her past life, where she had spent years running through the blood-soaked streets, breathless, starved, and moving with absolutely zero aim beyond surviving the next sixty seconds.

This alone could guarantee her survival for an entire lifetime but she did not want to stop here. She wanted to fill this level two, and even level three. Yes, she was greedy but no one knows what the situation might call for.

She currently had no plans of being a hero, much less a martyre...

”Samuel,” April called out, her voice dropping back into its flat, deadpan tone as she turned around to face her assistant. For the remaining thirty thousand cubic meters... ”Can you next procure a warehouse fully loaded with heavy industrial gear and machinery?”
