Apocalypse Rebirth: Making Billions With My Fortune-Telling Skill

The soft, golden rays of the morning sun filtered through the silk curtains of the suite, casting a warm glow across the massive plush bed.

April opened her eyes, feeling a sensation she hadn’t experienced in two lifetimes: absolute, unadulterated comfort.

There was no lingering ache in her muscles, no phantom itch from old scars on her back, and none of the heavy, suffocating exhaustion that usually dragged her down.

Sitting up, she threw off the heavy duvet and stepped onto the cool hardwood floor, walking straight toward the full-length mirror in the corner of the room. When she looked at her reflection, she froze.

The revitalization spring in her spatial dimension had done its work thoroughly. The faint, jagged pale lines on her skin from past traumas were completely gone.

Her complexion was flawless, radiant, and physically optimized, possessing a healthy, ethereal glow that made her look entirely reborn.

She turned around to look at her back, and behold, all the scars were gone. Her back was clean, smooth, glowing...

Her hair fell over her shoulders in silky waves, and even her posture felt naturally lighter, as if a literal physical weight had been lifted from her body.

A slow, satisfied smile spread across her lips. The spatial spring was a literal miracle.

But as she admired the results, the same calculating thought that she had the previous night struck her. If it works this perfectly internally... Just imagine what it could do when I bring it out into the real world.

April glanced around the room and her eyes fell on an empty glass on top of the coffee table. It was clear, and just what she wanted.

”Here I go,” she breathed softly and closed her eyes, focusing her mind as she tapped into the bond with her spatial dimension.

She willed a small portion of the crystalline, glowing spring water to materialize outside the space, just as she would do with her supplies.

At first, it didn’t work. The water simply rippled but it did not move and she opened her eyes, letting out a little huff, but she did not give up.

”One more time,” she told herself and closed her eyes. This time, she went into her mind space and scooped up a handful of the water.

She tried desperately to return to reality with that water in her hand, and a second later, a flawless, condensed droplet of the heavy, vibrant liquid hovered just above her palm in real life.

Seeing it, her breath hitched and she immediately settled it into the glass, filling it with a shimmering, pure fluid.

It worked. The properties of the space could be exported.

April’s eyes gleamed with a sudden, brilliant tactical realization as she stared at the shimmering water.

According to her predictions from yesterday, Robert Greels was scheduled to naturally survive and have the toxins leave his system by the morning. But surviving and waking up didn’t mean a full recovery.

Even with the poison dissipating, the old man’s body would be severely weakened, bedridden, and entirely incapable of standing up, let alone commanding a high-stakes board conference to defend his empire from Harvey.

But what if he drank this? If she could get Robert to drink the revitalization spring water, it would flush out the residual cellular damage, stabilize him instantly, and get him on his feet right away. He wouldn’t just be alive—he would be combat-ready.

Ah... And she would make yet another fortune when this old man grew even more indebted to her.

Nodding to herself, she carefully secured the materialized spring water in a vial she found in one of the shelves, fully intent on bringing it to the hidden medical facility later, and headed downstairs.

The air downstairs carried the rich, bitter aroma of freshly brewed espresso.

Sitting at a sleek, minimalist obsidian dining table was Xavier Reed himself. He was already fully dressed in a crisp charcoal suit, his tablet open in front of him, looking every bit the hyper-logical, cold tech tycoon.

Hearing her footsteps, Xavier paused, lifting his gaze. His dark eyes narrowed slightly as he took her in. There was a brief, almost imperceptible flash of surprise in his expression.

April seemed very confident, striding down with a pair of dark sunglasses and a grin that accentuated her new remarkable presence.

”You look... remarkably well rested,” Xavier observed, his deep voice smooth as he closed his tablet.

”A good night’s sleep does wonders, Mr. Reed,” April replied smoothly, sliding into the leather chair opposite him and taking off her sunglasses.

Xavier pushed a cup of coffee toward her. ”Indeed it does,” he claimed but he stared for a little longer. He was sure he had seen scars on her back the previous morning, but right about now, when she walked past him, her back was bare but those scars were absent. Her back was flawless, like the skin of a newborn.

Was this also one of her mysterious abilities?

She was a woman of many wonders and he could never figure her out.

”Alexander called me an hour ago.” He began, getting on with more serious matters to get his mind away from thinking about a woman back. ”His grandfather’s vitals are stable, just as you predicted. The toxins are clearing out on schedule. He’s incredibly grateful.”

Hearing this, April’s mind immediately went back to the glass of spring water she had kept in a vial and inside her special dimension. Stable is good, but stable isn’t enough to fight off Harvey at a conference if they want to win. I need to find a way to get him to drink the spring water without raising too many questions.

Her internal plotting was interrupted by Xavier leaning forward, setting his hands flat on the table. His dark eyes locked onto hers with a familiar, serious intensity.

”Now that the immediate fire is put out,” Xavier said directly. ”I would like to get a reading, Miss April.”

April didn’t skip a beat. Looking at him across the table, she raised her hand and let out a sharp, crisp snap of her fingers.

”For today’s reading, you’ll be paying me 50 million,” she said, her tone perfectly flat, professional, and entirely uncompromising. ”You should be grateful I’m not multiplying the bar... yet.”

Xavier didn’t even blink at the price. He knew her rules, he knew her accuracy, and to a man of his wealth, absolute foresight was worth far more than currency.

”Go ahead,” Xavier replied smoothly, tapping a command onto his tablet to authorize the massive wire transfer without a single shred of hesitation. He wasn’t using a check this time.

April immediately got the notification on her titanium pro and her eyes gleamed. It was always a pleasure doing business with the rich.

She leaned back, satisfied with the seamless transaction. But internally, she felt a surge of anticipation. Up until now, her visions had mostly been broad strokes or reactive warnings.

This time, she wanted to push the boundaries of her abilities. She wanted to test if she could deliberately trigger and isolate specific, highly targeted futures on command.

She looked at the billionaire tycoon, her eyes sharp and focused. ”What exactly do you want to be read, Mr. Reed? Give me a target.”

Xavier leaned back, crossing one leg over the other, his expression unreadable. ”Nothing grand. I just want to know how the rest of my day will go.”

April blinked. A slow, incredulous look crept onto her face. You’re paying me 50 million just to know how your day will go? She shook her head slightly, holding back a sigh. Well, I can never truly tell with these filthy rich people.

Accepting his wealthy eccentricities, she triggered her insight to delve into the shifting lines of the immediate future. Insight.

[Would you like to read Xavier Reed’s fortune?]

[Number of insights today: 3/3]

Yes,

[Target: Xavier Reed—Immediate Timeline]

Immediate future: The target’s investment with Apex Core Logistics will start yielding fruit as of today. Furthermore, due to swift, decisive aid rendered to Robert Greels, a long-term, powerhouse business relationship between the Reed and Greels empires is officially locked in, guaranteeing massive, generational benefits for the Reed family for years to come.

Hidden future: Xavier Reed does not need a reading and is not curious about his future.

Hm? What does that mean? April looked at the hidden truth. The system did not display any more words and it made her curious.

If he wasn’t curious about his future, then why the hell did he pay fifty million without a second thought.

Just as she thought, she could never understand these rich people.

”Mr. Reed, you have nothing to worry about because the rest of your day will be absolutely peachy,” April confirmed. ”Your investment with Apex Core Logistics will start yielding fruit as of today, and thanks to your swift, decisive aid with Robert Greels yesterday, a long-term, powerhouse business relationship between the Reed and Greels empires is officially locked in today. This alliance is going to guarantee massive, generational benefits for your family for years to come.” If the apocalypse doesn’t tear that asunder, she added silently to herself. Aloud, she finished, ”Your involvement was entirely worth it.”

She did not mention the hidden future to him because she knew he wouldn’t exactly need to know what’s already in his mind.

Xavier listened, a look of profound satisfaction settling over his sharp features. He gave her a singular, respectful nod.

”Exactly what I wanted to hear.” Entirely satisfied, he stood up, collected his tablet, and left to attend to his business.
