Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 2263: Chapter 2263: Trying to Cling Onto Jun Lin Hall with Empty Promises

Yuu Rong hurriedly rushed back from outside and saw three people sitting at the stone table in the courtyard, eating.

”Sister-in-law, you came out of seclusion?”

Seeing An Jiuyue, he was somewhat surprised. Earlier, he had thought that his sister-in-law would definitely come out of seclusion later than his elder brother.

But he hadn’t expected that the one to come out first would be his sister-in-law, not his elder brother.

”Mm, I came out. Where did you go just now?” An Jiuyue looked at him and asked.

”Just now...”

When asked where he had been just now, his expression shifted, turning somewhat unpleasant.

”It was over at Jun Lin Hall—several groups of people suddenly showed up, insisting on meeting Brother. They said Brother had promised them before that he would properly take care of their families, but so far, he hasn’t followed through.”

He himself had no knowledge of this matter. Since his elder brother wasn’t there, he couldn’t directly make any promises. So he told them to leave first and wait for his elder brother to come out of seclusion so they could ask him about it.

But who would’ve thought—those people just wouldn’t leave and kept demanding an answer from him?

As someone new to this place, how could he possibly decide where those people should settle down? This is Wulong Mountain, not a place where he calls all the shots.

”Hmm?”

An Jiuyue looked at him, her eyes filled with doubt.

She knew Qian Jiyun well—he would never casually make promises to anyone, much less promise something he wouldn’t actually do. Even the people from Jun Lin Hall wouldn’t act like this.

That left only two possibilities: first, these people were trying to pin their hopes onto Jun Lin Hall without any evidence; or second, someone had impersonated members of Jun Lin Hall and made promises to them.

But given that Jun Lin Hall was now tied to Demon Heart Hall, with shared personnel between the Two Halls, who would dare to impersonate someone from Jun Lin Hall? And who would even attempt it?

”Where are they?”

”They’ve all left.”

Yuu Rong shrugged and said.

If they hadn’t left, he wouldn’t have been able to return. He would still be stuck dealing with them over there.

”What promises did you make them?” An Jiuyue asked.

If nothing was promised, then they wouldn’t have left so willingly. Surely, they must have received some kind of assurance from Yuu Rong.

Thinking along these lines, she saw Yuu Rong shaking his head.

”I didn’t promise them a single thing. Those people clearly didn’t come with good intentions. There’s no way I would agree to anything they demanded.” He wasn’t stupid enough to promise anything to people he didn’t even know.

Even if he was to make any promises, he would need to confirm first—who exactly from Jun Lin Hall had made promises to them before he could commit to anything.

Otherwise, in the end, it would turn into him taking the blame. What those people said before would all be swept under the rug, and he would be the one suffering the consequences.

Although he hadn’t dealt with matters concerning Demon Heart Hall and Jun Lin Hall before, he was, at the very least, the Young Valley Master of Medicine Valley. He wasn’t some clueless simpleton, was he?

”I just told them they had two options: either leave, or come with me to Demon Heart Hall and wait for Brother or you to handle the matter. So they ran off—all of them left without staying behind.”

Who knows whether it was Sister-in-law’s reputation that scared them off or whether his elder brother’s name intimidated them into leaving.

Hearing this, An Jiuyue narrowed her eyes slightly.

It seemed like it was the first possibility after all. Bold indeed—trying to pin their hopes onto Jun Lin Hall with baseless claims. They must have thought that with Jun Lin Hall’s people all away and news hard to circulate, they could take advantage of the situation to make trouble.

”Wait for Mo Aotian to return and have him send people to investigate those individuals. Find out who they are.” She instructed.
