Raising My Children With My Personal Spatial Ability

Chapter 1956: Chapter 1956: How’s Your Health?

“Sigh!”

The sect master let out a heavy sigh of relief upon hearing this.

“That’s good.”

He was counting on this son. Though trials were necessary, he certainly didn’t wish for his son to perish on the way.

“Just keep a close watch on the Everlasting Lamp. When the time comes, you know what to do.”

“Yes, Sect Master, your subordinate understands.”

...
The Second Elder replied, and he indeed knew what to do. Protecting the young masters was everyone in the Eternal Night Sect’s duty. Even if they were at the edge of the world, they could safeguard those whom they wished to protect.

“I’ve heard that Lian Qingyi has been gathering quite a number of men again to prolong his precious son’s life, hasn’t he?” Sect Master Leng inquired.

“Yes.”

The Second Elder lifted his gaze to look at his sect master.

Lian Qingyi was the husband of their lady’s elder brother and the sect master of a small sect within the Eternal Night Plane.

His son, their lady’s nephew, was even frailer than the former Young Sect Master. Saying he would fall over with a mere gust of wind was an understatement.

Lian Qingyi had followed a taoist priest and learned an evil technique to sustain his son’s life with the fresh blood of young men.

However, the life thus prolonged not only harmed those young men but also filled the patient with evil energy. He would be as cold as a corpse all day long, driving him to murderous insanity.

When Lian Qingyi first acquired this evil technique, he had also tried to ingratiate himself with the sect master by offering to share it with Leng Yikun.

However, the sect master had not agreed, and the Young Sect Master Leng Yikun had disdained to live by such means. It harmed others and oneself, causing unbearable torment. One wished for death yet could not die and lived only to suffer.

Because of this, the lady had often accused him in front of the sect master of being selfish for not saving his own son.

But only heaven knew whether those who lived by such means were human or ghosts. He had once had the misfortune of seeing Lian Qingyi’s son, a withered husk, as if he had crawled out from Purgatory itself—unspeakably terrifying.

“What do you mean, Sect Master…”

“What’s the point of such a person living? Go and make the arrangements,” Sect Master Leng ordered gravely.

They had the audacity to attempt harm against his son; they must face the pain he would bring upon them. It wasn’t fair for him to be the only one living in fear, was it?

“Yes, Sect Master, your subordinate will take care of it now.”

The Second Elder promptly responded with clear eagerness.

Many found Lian Qingyi’s actions distasteful, but they refrained from acting due to his relation to the sect master.

Now that the sect master had given the order, what hesitation was there to act?

Sect Master Leng watched him leave before closing the door of the room and walking to a bookshelf, where he manipulated a very concealed mechanism.

The next moment, the bookshelf on the other side split open from the middle, revealing a pitch-black passageway. He took an oil lamp and went down slowly.

The passageway door closed quickly behind him. He walked for a good while within the passageway before stopping in front of a stone door.

Gently, he knocked twice. The stone door was opened from the inside.

“Have you come?”

A feeble voice sounded from inside as Sect Master Leng stepped out.

“How has your health been in recent days?”

He placed the oil lamp on the table and looked at the young man sitting in the wheelchair. At this moment, he was gaunt, with no flesh on his face, watching Sect Master Leng’s actions while coughing softly.
