Chapter 3288: Chapter 3289: Dreamchaser Alan

In other words, this Dreamchaser is highly likely to become a special NPC at the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

However, unlike Maggie, Nafidote, Mushroom Concubine, and Shi Zhong, the Dreamchaser has yet to reveal his true body.

According to the rules of Wonderland of Dreams, specific conditions must be met for the Dreamchaser to appear. Just as Maggie’s appearance required the condition of ”Gathering Place”; Nafidote’s appearance required simultaneously meeting ”Gathering Place and Rainbow”; Mushroom Concubine’s appearance required the prerequisite of ”Mushroom”... and so on.

As for the Dreamchaser, to show his true body and become an NPC, he likely has to meet certain conditions.

With Laplace’s understanding of the Dreamchaser, perhaps the dream woven by the Head Mirror Clan could awaken him.

After listening to Laplace, Angel pondered for a moment and said, ”I can query his birth conditions through authority, but first, I need his true name... Is Dreamchaser his true name?”

Laplace: ”Dreamchaser is not his true name; it is the title given to him by outsiders, though he himself acknowledges it. His true name is... Alan.”

”Alan?” Angel murmured softly, ”It sounds like a nickname.”

Laplace: ”Alan is indeed his true name. His mother hoped he would live freely like the mountain wind. However, he himself is somewhat dissatisfied with the name Alan, often feeling it sounds like a girl’s name; so when others call him Dreamchaser, he is quite happy.”

Angel roughly understood.

Although Alan is his true name, he actually identifies more with Dreamchaser.

If that’s the case, then directly searching for ”Dreamchaser” should also yield his related information.

”I understand.” Angel nodded to Laplace: ”Please wait a moment.”

Angel closed his eyes, his thoughts submerged into the Ability Tree.

Sparse points of light hung from the branches of the Ability Tree, each representing an authority.

Most of these points of light were relatively dim.

The authorities represented by these dim points of light were all from the Wilderness of Dreams, while Angel was at the Mirror Domain corresponding to the Crystal Origin of Dreams, so the points of the Wilderness of Dreams appeared dim.

Of course, not all authorities of the Wilderness of Dreams were dim; those like ”Celestial Alternation,” which could be shared by both Wilderness of Dreams and Crystal Origin of Dreams, were very bright.

But at the Ability Tree at this moment, the brightest and most radiant point was the representative authority of Crystal Origin of Dreams—Wonderland of Dreams.

Angel’s thoughts directly entered the brightest point.

As the immersion of thought occurred, a vast amount of information turned into the Sea of Order, wrapping around Angel.

If this scene could be materialized, Angel would likely be in the void of the Information Sea, with comet-like streams of information flashing by rapidly.

Angel only needed a thought, and seemingly chaotic streams of information could form corresponding text, appearing before him.

To retrieve information about ”Dreamchaser,” Angel just needed thoughts to flow, and select orderly intelligence from the chaotic sea through keywords.

This process seemed easy, but it placed a severe burden on mental capacity.

Because the Information Sea was too vast, the contents to be retrieved required extraction from scattered information again and again.

The longer he stayed and the more times information was extracted, the greater the mental exhaustion.

Angel once tried the limit, extracting information tens of thousands of times in one go, only to faint afterwards.

For his well-being and to avoid excessive mental depletion, Angel now limited his information extraction to under a hundred times per session.

Generally speaking, to retrieve a ”general intelligence,” hundreds of extractions were typically sufficient.

Of course, if planning to retrieve ”detailed intelligence” or ”flawless intelligence,” extraction numbers start at tens of thousands.

For information on Dreamchaser, Angel didn’t plan to retrieve so detailed. He sought a general overview, knowing the conditions for Dreamchaser’s appearance would suffice.

His luck was decent this time; with less than thirty extractions, Dreamchaser’s intelligence was retrieved.

After viewing the intelligence on Dreamchaser, Angel took a deep breath.

For Laplace’s timely NPC avatars, Angel’s primary requirement was that corresponding instance permitted ”migration.”

Just like Maggie’s corresponding Silver Coral Island, able to accommodate indigenous residents.

After all, the Crystal Origin of Dreams is entirely endless crystals, devoid of resources, and the indigenous residents urgently need to migrate.

However, there is virtually no ”migration” feasibility for the instance associated with Dreamchaser.

The information on Dreamchaser resembled that of another Laplace avatar he checked earlier, ”Blood Scent Enchanting Demon.” The instance held by the ”Blood Scent Enchanting Demon” was named—Dungeon of Desire.

Dungeon of Desire, based solely on the instance name, was evidently unsuitable for migration. Furthermore, the dungeon housed numerous demons, which might be desirable to certain specific groups; but to the vast majority of indigenous residents, Dungeon of Desire held no residential value.

Similar to Blood Scent Enchanting Demon, ”Dreamchaser” Alan held the instance named—Dreamland Zoo.

The type of instance was not yet known to Angel. However, from general information, it was confirmed that the zoo contained extremely fierce ”Fierce Beasts,” most importantly, that these beasts were roaming free.

Whether the zoo was large enough to accommodate migrants aside, the roaming fierce beasts alone directly negated any potential for migration.

Not everyone is a hunter capable of slaying fierce beasts. Most indigenous residents are ordinary people; living near fierce beasts might turn them into backup food.

Moreover, even seasoned hunters likely wouldn’t wish to live anxiously every day.

After viewing the Dreamchaser Alan’s information, Angel opened his eyes and said to Laplace: ”I’ve retrieved some information about Dreamchaser Alan. According to the findings, three conditions need to be met for him to appear: Gathering Place, Nightmare, and Beautiful Dream.”

Gathering Place is the prerequisite for most instances. After all, ”Gathering Place” represents a large floating population; without people, an instance’s existence is pointless.

”The so-called Nightmare and Beautiful Dream refers to two consecutive days where the same indigenous resident residing at the Gathering Place had a nightmare and a beautiful dream, fulfilling the condition.”

”This condition is relatively broad; ’Light Swan’ and ’Evil Abyss’ simultaneously represent Beautiful Dream and Nightmare, if brought into the Crystal Origin of Dreams to allow the same indigenous resident to experience ’Light Swan’ and ’Evil Abyss’ consecutively over two days, it should also meet Dreamchaser Alan’s initial threshold.”

In other words, Laplace’s conjecture was correct.

Purchasing ’Light Swan’ and ’Evil Abyss’ and integrating them into the Crystal Origin could indeed advance the summoning of special NPC Dreamchaser Alan.

However, although ’Light Swan’ and ’Evil Abyss’ indeed have the potential to advance the summoning of Dreamchaser Alan, Angel personally feels that given the current broad environment of Crystal Origin of Dreams, is it truly suitable?

Not just because ”Dreamland Zoo” cannot migrate, but also, recently there have been too many new Fairyland Duplication instances emerging, with many unknown variables within.

As the Crystal Origin of Dreams is about to open, to suddenly add so many instances, Angel believes there is really no need.

For instance, the recently birthed ”Mist Isle Dragon Tomb” was too sudden, startling everyone.

Originally intending for Rabbit Girl to tour the Crystal Origin of Dreams with Mirror Dragon, this sudden intrusion... if not for the far greater benefits than drawbacks provided by Dragon Tomb to Mirror Dragon, Angel might even think the Mirror Dragon would be deterred.

The appearance of the ”Dreamland Zoo” will also bring about unknown variables, and moreover, it cannot be immigrated. Therefore, in Angel’s view, the summoning of the Dreamchaser is completely unnecessary.

To the extent that one could say, the drawbacks outweigh the benefits.

Angel expressed all his thoughts.

However, he was still puzzled. With Laplace’s intelligence, she should have seen this point. Why does she still hope to summon the Dreamchaser Allan?

Is there something special about this Dreamchaser Allan?

Faced with Angel’s inquiry, Laplace didn’t hide anything and directly said: ”Although Allan is a temporal body I discarded, originally, he was supposed to replace Laplace.”

After Laplace finished speaking, she added: ”Little Laplace.”

Which is to say, the Rabbit Girl.

”At that time, when I created Little Laplace, I hoped that this temporal body could carry my past.”

Or rather, to carry Laplace’s childhood and adolescence.

At that time, what Laplace hoped for in a temporal body was for it to be unrestrained, pure, and innocent... and Allan perfectly met Laplace’s standards.

Looking even at all the prospective temporal bodies in the Forest of Memories, Allan’s personality was the most favored by Laplace.

So from the very beginning, Laplace decided that Allan would become one of her temporal bodies.

Eventually, even though Laplace abandoned Allan, it wasn’t because there was a problem with Allan himself. Rather, it was because Laplace found a new method for condensing a temporal body.

This method can be called: self-condensation.

Like Luigi and Glaipnir, although they are all temporal bodies of Laplace, their memories, personalities, and even their skilled abilities actually come from other people.

And the Rabbit Girl, not only is she a temporal body of Laplace, but her memory also completely carries the childhood memories of Laplace’s true body, without any additions from other people’s memories.

This is what is known as self-condensation.

Allan became a discarded temporal body due to the birth of the Rabbit Girl.

However, Laplace still harbors special emotions towards Allan.

It is precisely because of this special emotion, and her understanding of Allan’s personality, that she genuinely hopes Allan can manifest early in the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

”Currently, the special NPCs in the Crystal Origin of Dreams more or less have some issues with their personalities.”

”Maggie, pursues goodness, but her standards for goodness exceed the essence of goodness itself.”

”The Mushroom Concubine, devoid of any distinction between good and evil, longs for the day when there are no people without mushrooms.”

”Nafidote, extremely narcissistic, believes she is the most beautiful life form in the universe, and her cognition is clearly biased.”

”Shi Zhong, as a Half-Blood Demon, spent his childhood and adolescence in disgust and disdain. Adding the death of his father, as a Dragon Hunter inheriting the Blood of Divine Wrath, his personality bears hidden madness and paranoia.”

These NPCs, who have come from the Forest of Memories, have actually inherited the personalities of their original prospective temporal bodies.

Even if you can communicate with them normally through gentle interactions, their reverse scales are very obvious, and if someone accidentally touches them, the consequences are unpredictable.

But Allan is different. If he continues to inherit the personality of his original prospective temporal body, then he might be the most normal and easiest NPC to interact with among all current NPCs.

This is one of the reasons Laplace recommended Angel to allow Allan to be born in advance.

...

After listening to Laplace’s account, Angel fell into deep thought.

If there truly exists a special NPC who is willing to communicate and is easy to communicate with, that would certainly be a good thing.

However, just because of Allan’s personality, to let him be born sooner, Angel feels might be a bit rash.

After all, once Allan is born, no matter how good his personality is, he still belongs to the Wonderland system, and everything will certainly prioritize the instance.

And the existence of an instance will introduce too many unknown variables.

For example, the Sunshine Circus.

Not only is the process of clearing the instance extremely biased, but even with Angel, Laplace, and the Three Temporal Bodies participating, they almost couldn’t pass, which shows this point.

What’s more frustrating is that the Sunshine Circus is a ”recruitment-based instance.”

Every week, a circus must be performed, and actors are required to perform the circus. If there aren’t enough actors in the circus, then there will be a full-area recruitment.

With random recruitment, no one knows who will be pulled into the instance next.

This makes it very uncomfortable.

And because of the special mechanism of the Sunshine Circus, it led Angel to explain the circus rules to every person entering the Crystal Origin of Dreams afterward to prevent them from being randomly dragged into the circus and becoming overwhelmed.

Similarly, no matter how good Allan’s personality is, if his instance is similar to the Sunshine Circus, summoning him might not be a good thing.

Angel thought for a moment and decided to dive back into the ”Wonderland of Dreams” Authority.

Previously, he was searching for information about the Dreamchaser Allan; this time, he plans to gain a brief understanding of the rules of the ”Dreamland Zoo.”

If the rules are reasonable and do not involve ”mandatory recruitment,” then no matter how difficult the instance is, it can be attempted to manifest.

With this question in mind, Angel entered the ocean of information.

First extraction, search target: missing.

Second extraction, search target: missing.

Third extraction...

Fourth, fifth...

Angel’s good luck seemed to have run out during the search for Dreamchaser Allan, as this time, he used a total of four hundred attempts to finally extract the brief information about the ”Dreamland Zoo.”

The brief information only contained general rules; more detailed rules, or internal maps, details, and transformations, were not extracted.

But this was enough.

As long as the rules could be understood, other details were unimportant.
