Warlock Apprentice

Sangye’s gaze slowly swept over the crowd, her eyes hesitant.

Angel seemed to understand and replied, ”If you think this place isn’t suitable, we can change the location. Perhaps, the trading grounds?”

After all, this was Sanders’ manor, a private estate. Sangye had come alone, with no one else around, and the wizards were no pushovers, so her concerns were quite natural.

Hearing Angel say this, Sangye took a step back, ”There’s no need to go to the trading grounds, it’s fine here. I do trust the integrity of a Transcendental Wizard, especially since you represent the Research and Development Institute.”

Sangye didn’t hesitate to pull out a box from her own space.

The box wasn’t big, and it looked rather like a jewelry box.

”This transaction is at my mentor’s behest. If it’s successful, I believe my mentor would be very pleased,” Sangye said once more.

She started by flattering Angel before making it clear that her mentor ’Sea God’ Florenza was aware of the matter, revealing her underlying concerns. But since she had already spoken to this extent, even if others harbored thoughts of seizing it, they likely wouldn’t take any action.

”Whether the trade will be successful depends on whether it’s suitable for me or not,” Angel said, leaving things open-ended, but what he really thought was another matter.

”Then the Transcendental Wizard might as well have a look,” said Sangye, slowly opening the box.

At this moment, Sanders and Kanter both took a step back, leaving only Angel and Sangye sitting opposite each other.

When the box was opened, there was a faint glow, but no subsequent disturbance, everything seemed calm and quiet. However, Angel and Sanders both vaguely sensed an obscure energy fluctuation emanating from the box.

This energy was undoubtedly an Illusion Technique fluctuation.

Angel picked up a pair of one-way glasses that could simply shield energetic radiance, and then looked inside the box.

Through the lens, Angel saw clearly the item inside the box.

It was a small house.

To be exact, it was a model of a wooden cabin. At first glance, it resembled the Magic Potion cabin where Master Midora lived. Although it was quite small, it wasn’t rudimentary and had a cozy feel.

On the wooden siding of the cabin, there were very beautiful decorative patterns, and flowers in full bloom could be seen on the window sills and next to the outdoor stairs, their colors vivid, emitting a pleasant fragrance that made one unable to resist closing their eyes in indulgence.

Angel withdrew his gaze, and although he had not experienced the item yet, based on the information known thus far, it could affect the five senses with Illusion magic even without being activated, and without any sense of dissonance.

It thus became clear that this was definitely an item related to Illusion Series, and its effect must be quite remarkable.

”Could this be the item recorded in the handbook of the Great Wizard known for deceit, found at the ruins of Baiou Plains?” suddenly, Sanders’s voice came through.

Angel looked over with intrigue; he was aware of the Great Wizard known for deceit but had not seen his handbook.

On the other side, Kanter seemed to recall something upon hearing Sanders’s remark, ”The handbook from Baiou Plains ruins? I remember a record mentioning that Spiwey had obtained an Illusion Series artifact in his early years that helped him recover his true self from confusion... However, it only mentioned that much and didn’t specify the ultimate fate of this Illusion Series artifact.”

Sangye: ”The artifact you’re talking about was left by Spiwey in an abandoned laboratory. Thousands of years later, I stumbled upon it by chance.”

Pausing for a moment, Sangye nodded, ”Indeed, this artifact is the very Illusion Technique artifact Spiwey carried with him in his early years—”

”The House of the Heart.”

Sangye mentioned the name of the House of the Heart, and a flicker of understanding passed through Sanders’ eyes: ”Indeed, it is the House of the Heart.”

”Mentor, are you also aware of this artifact?” Angel asked curiously.

Sanders nodded: ”The House of the Heart is an Alchemy Work refined based on the Heart Illusion School. According to the records, it is a very outstanding auxiliary item.”

”Yes, purely in terms of auxiliary effects, it can definitely rank within the top three Alchemy Works of the Heart Illusion School.” At this point, Sangye also said, ”Although I have not yet come into contact with the Sea Rhythm refined by your Excellency, I have heard Jiebo mention its effects. At least in terms of assistance, the House of the Heart and the Sea Rhythm should be on par.”

Angel looked towards Sanders, who nodded at him, indicating that Sangye was correct.

Purely from the point of auxiliary effects, the House of the Heart really was comparable to the Sea Rhythm. This was why Sangye was very confident in bringing it out for a trade with Angel.

Sanders: ”That may be so, but don’t overlook the objective conditions. Among the three major structures, the Mysterious Side has the fewest people, and the Illusion Series is one of the smaller groups within it.”

”Even if it truly is the Illusion Series, those who specialize in the Heart Illusion School are even fewer.”

”On the other hand, the Sea Rhythm targets Ocean Mages. This is a much larger group than the Heart Illusion School under the Illusion Series. Even if one is not an Ocean Mage, every Wizard in the three structures will learn some form of water magic, and the Sea Rhythm will enhance these people’s abilities.”

Sanders pointed out the issue: in terms of auxiliary effects, both are quite similar. But one must consider that there are few of the Heart Illusionists, whereas the Ocean Mages are very numerous.

Sangye replied unhurriedly: ”Illusion Demon Lord makes a good point, but the House of the Heart is not just targeted at Heart Illusion.”

Sanders: ”It is the most effective for Heart Illusion.”

”So is the Sea Rhythm most effective for Ocean Mages, isn’t it the same.”

The two of them went back and forth for a while, and Angel was still confused. He couldn’t help but interject during a lull in their dialogue: ”What exactly does the House of the Heart do?”

Sanders had confirmed that the House of the Heart had strong auxiliary effects, but Angel was still unaware of its specific effects.

Sangye did not keep him in suspense and directly revealed the answer: ”The House of the Heart allows you to directly confront the obsessions within your own heart.”

Generally speaking, Wizards of the Heart Illusion School in their early training must touch and analyze the human heart, which more or less results in preoccupation with humanity. For this reason, nearly ninety percent of Heart Illusion Apprentices will develop some fixations in their hearts.

A fixation that turns into a demon becomes a heart demon. When heart demons run rampant, they lead to madness.

The House of the Heart can confront this madness, amplify it, and even overcome it. For Heart Illusion Wizards, the auxiliary effect is definitely very powerful.

However, this is limited to Heart Illusion Wizards.

Although other Wizards can also use it, it is only the Heart Illusion Wizards who let their heart demons become so strong. Wizards from other series, even without the House of the Heart, can gradually overcome madness in their growth process.

This is why Sanders said that this item is most useful for those in the Heart Illusion School.

”There’s indeed a large disparity in numbers between the Heart Illusion School and the Ocean Mages, but what’s suitable is most important, isn’t it?” Sangye said.

Sangye’s statement went unchallenged even by Sanders.

Because what she said indeed made sense. The Sea Rhythm couldn’t achieve its maximum effect in Angel’s hands; although the House of the Heart might not be the most effective for Angel, it was still related to the Illusion Series, and compared to the Sea Rhythm, the House of the Heart was undoubtedly a better choice.

”I wonder what would be the Transcendental Wizard’s decision? The status of the House of the Heart for the entire Illusion Series, I believe you understand better than I. So, are you willing to trade with me?”
