Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1611: Section 1612: Pure White Snow Crow

“Demons generally don’t enter the Reality Realm; they are like reptiles that cunningly hide in the darkness, leaving only a Phantom Shadow with the ability to utilize Demonic Power.” Greya replied.

Moreover, as long as demons stay in the spatial rifts, they can temporarily escape the shackles of the World Will.

Upon this thought, Angel suddenly realized something.

Angel: “If my memory serves me right, since the start of the Nova Contest and up until now, it seems that only Kavoline has had an issue. No one else has had any problems, Sharley included.”

Gazing at Angel with narrowed eyes, Greya asked, “What are you trying to imply? Are you making excuses for the demon?”

Angel shook his head: “I don’t know if Asaz has fallen or not, maybe his eyes are indeed a disguise as you say. But since his previous contests didn’t cause any harm to his opponents, Kavoline’s case becomes quite peculiar.”

Greya: “What’s so peculiar about it?”

“I just feel, perhaps Kavoline encountered a problem because she… faced the demon directly.”

Facing a demon directly? Greya wasn’t foolish; as soon as Angel voiced this speculation, she immediately grasped his meaning.

Indeed, including Sharley, none of the others who competed against Asaz encountered any issues. If Asaz wanted to disguise himself as not having sacrificed to demons in the Nova Contest, he should have been consistent throughout, and Kavoline wouldn’t have ended up as living culinary ingredients. Unless, he had a vendetta against Kavoline.

But Sinistra also mentioned that Asaz and Kavoline had never met before. The likelihood of such a vendetta was slim.

Setting aside the motive of hatred, why then did Asaz turn Kavoline into living culinary ingredients? It might be, as Angel suggested, because Kavoline herself directly confronted the demon.

Perhaps Asaz had no subjective intention of turning Kavoline into living culinary ingredients, but who knows, maybe Kavoline, in her bid for a swift victory, transformed her Shepherd’s Garb into the “Time-Space Witch Garb.”

The Time-Space Witch Garb could allow Kavoline to ignore distance and traverse through the Void for sixty seconds, relentlessly pursuing and attacking her locked target.

Regrettably… the true body of the demon sacrificed by Asaz was hiding in the Void.

Demons are inherently stronger than humans; even a low-level top-tier demon can reach Official Wizard-level strength, and a common intermediate-rank demon is already equivalent to a True Knowledge Wizard.

Therefore, even if the demon sacrificed by Asaz was just a low-level one, Kavoline would have been susceptible if she suddenly faced it.

Greya furrowed her brows, following this line of thought; Angel’s conjecture might indeed be possible.

“Kavoline being turned into living culinary ingredients could indeed be a result of confronting the demon’s true form, a fate she brought upon herself. But this does not prove that Asaz hasn’t been tempted and corrupted by the demon,” Greya insisted.

“Nor does it prove that Asaz has fallen,” Angel countered along with Greya’s reasoning.

“The fact that this demon has the ability to turn humans into living culinary ingredients already proves that Asaz taught him this power. Therefore, Asaz can’t entirely absolve himself of responsibility,” Greya persisted in her view.

Angel didn’t continue to argue; he was merely making logical deductions based on the facts at hand. He certainly wouldn’t involve himself in the matter, given that this conflict was between Gourmet Sorcerers.

He continued to watch the contest.

While Angel and Greya were talking, the contestants had already been locked in an indistinguishable struggle.

It must be said that Asaz’s fundamentals are very sound. As a culinary Apprentice, without relying on Demonic Power and combining various methods like Elemental Tricks and Bloodline abilities, he already possessed the capability to fight on par with an ordinary Third-Level Apprentice.

If he were to use Demonic Power, he would undoubtedly become even stronger.

On the other side, Trom also surprised Angel. From the very first glance at Trom, Angel knew he was from the Bloodline side.

Among the peers of the three major structures, when it comes to combat strength, the Bloodline side is definitely stronger than the Mysterious Side and the Element side. But Trom’s strength has already risen to a level that caused the surrounding audience to gasp in amazement.

Greya, who had been paying close attention to Asaz, found her gaze drawn to Trom from time to time.

Because his strength was too great, what looked like an ordinary punch actually managed to smash a hole in the arena. You should know, although the arena for this contest is not as accommodating as the Boundless Battle Arena, it can still withstand a full-force attack from a Half-Step Wizard.

A light punch that could create a hole in the arena clearly showed that his strength had surpassed the limit.

If used at full power, he might even reach Official Wizard Level.

Not to mention his tremendous strength, his speed was astonishingly fast as well. Especially his jumping power; each time he leaped into the air, a strong sonic boom would be produced, indicating the startling speed.

Even though we haven’t seen how strong his physical body is, but for his body to withstand such speed, it couldn’t possibly be weak.

Seeing Trom like this made Angel wonder if the reason Qi Li lost to Trom in their previous fight wasn’t what he had speculated – Qi Li conceding – but rather that Trom had genuinely beaten her?

“Trom has nearly reached the level of an Official Wizard in terms of physique and strength even before becoming a wizard, that’s quite impressive,” Greya couldn’t help but exclaim.

“Indeed,” Angel echoed.

Greya glanced at Angel: But still not up to Angel, this freak of nature.

Angel, before his promotion, already had a physical body comparable to an Official Wizard. Now, even without actively releasing power, Greya could feel the fierce and potent intimidation emanating from Angel’s body, just like a bloodline on the Official Wizard side.

Greya sighed, it’s best not to compare oneself with others in this world; the more you compare, the more disheartened you become.

“By the way, which Witcher Organization is he from?” Greya asked with some curiosity.

Angel hadn’t really looked into it and was about to take out his communicator to check when a bizarre voice came from beside them.

“Trom is from the Frost Moon Alliance, nurtured purely by the alliance itself and not by any other Witcher Organization under the alliance.”

That voice came from behind them, a bit shrill and with a strange tone.

Angel and Greya turned to look and saw a person sitting behind them, wearing a flat cap and resting on a cane. However, it was not he who spoke, but a pure white snow crow perched on the cane.

“A human-form puppet… Magic Pet? No, an Alchemical Familiar?” Angel first observed the person, realizing that he wasn’t actually alive but a puppet. As for the snow crow perched on his cane, it was merely an Alchemical Familiar.

Angel was sure that there had been no one around them when he and Greya were talking.

The Alchemical Familiar must have just arrived. Because it had no life force fluctuation, and also because the arena was so crowded and noisy, they hadn’t noticed at first.

“Indeed, this is my Alchemical Familiar. Worthy of Angel, oh, now I should address you as His Excellency Chaowei.” The snow crow looked at Angel and gracefully extended its wing, brushing its chest as if to make a bow.

“You are…” Angel’s frown deepened, even if the other party had answered Greya’s question, such an abrupt appearance was still extremely rude.

Before the snow crow could answer, Greya narrowed her eyes and said, “You are… Quini?”

A laugh came out of the snow crow’s beak, “Greya’s memory is as outstanding as ever.”

“It really is you, I saw this snow crow when you dined in my restaurant thirty years ago.” After confirming the identity of the other party, Greya’s tensed shoulders also relaxed.

Seeing Greya’s reaction, Angel knew that they were acquainted, and apparently, they had a rather good relationship.

“The Snowy Night Secret Tree Pastry you made back then, I still remember the taste to this day. When can I taste it again?”

Greya: “Wait until I gather all the restaurant staff. But even now if I were to make it, can an Alchemical Familiar taste it?”

“That’s true, I’m not in Sky Mechanical City now, so I can’t taste it.” The snow crow sighed.

At this moment, Greya turned to Angel: “Let me introduce her. The owner of this snow crow is an old diner of mine named Quini, you can also call her Sudor, which is her surname.”
