Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 679: Chapter 722: Preparing to Flee

The driver on the other end of the phone answered honestly, ”No! The lady asked me to drop her off at the entrance of the Gu Group and then leave, saying she’d call me once she was done with her business!”

Upon hearing this, Mu Beiting immediately hung up the phone, picked up the desk phone, and dialed the internal line. The call was answered after one ring, and before Pete on the other end could speak, he urgently said, ”Send people to search thoroughly around the Gu Group entrance. We must find the lady!”

Pete immediately understood from Mu Beiting’s words that something must have happened to the lady again, so he asked nothing and directly responded, ”I know, I will give the orders immediately!”

After saying this, Mu Beiting hung up the phone, then stood up, took his coat from the hanger, put it on, and opened the office door to leave!

As Mu Beiting left the office, Pete came out of the special assistant’s office, phone in hand, allocating tasks!

It wasn’t until the exclusive elevator for the president opened that Pete hung up the phone and got in the elevator with Mu Beiting!

Mu Beiting took the elevator directly to the underground parking lot and got into the business car with Pete! The business car headed straight for the Gu Group!

Upon arrival, Mu Beiting and Pete got out first, then the car was parked elsewhere before coming back to find Mu Beiting and Pete!

Mu Beiting started searching around the Gu Group!

Not long after, the people sent by Pete also arrived!

Everyone began a comprehensive search for Ye Anxin’s whereabouts in the vicinity of the Gu Group!

However, the vast area, due to the snow, was sparsely populated, and there wasn’t even anyone around to inquire!

They searched for a long time but still found no trace; Pete sighed inwardly, walked over to Mu Beiting, and said, ”President, don’t worry, the lady will be fine! I’ll call to get all the nearby surveillance footage now; I’m sure we can find her traces!”

In fact, from the beginning, both he and the president should have thought of getting the surveillance footage instead of blindly and aimlessly looking around here!

However, whenever it comes to matters concerning the lady, the president gets so nervous that he loses his composure, and he too was in such a hurry that he temporarily forgot about checking the surveillance!

Today, with snow, there are not many pedestrians on the street, so getting the surveillance footage should help them in the search!

After hearing Pete’s words, Mu Beiting’s eyes flashed, and he nodded expressionlessly!

Upon receiving instructions, Pete hurriedly left to make the call!

Due to the large area, and this being the bustling city center, finding a person here is no easy task!

Mu Beiting and all the subordinates searched for a long time!

Just then, another group of people emerged from the Gu Group to join the search!

Gu Xingchen then slowly approached Mu Beiting from behind, smiling as he said, ”Beiting, I’m here to help!”

Mu Beiting merely gave him a cold glance and said nothing!

Gu Xingchen awkwardly touched his nose and then joined everyone in the search!

In the snowstorm, instead of feeling cold, everyone was sweating heavily from the search!

As the sky grew darker, everyone had skipped lunch, and there was no sign of the snow stopping; in fact, it seemed to be getting heavier!

Everyone was covered in snow!

The entire area around the Gu’s Mansion was turned inside out, yet there was no trace of Ye Anxin, not even a single clue!

Just as everyone was starting to lose hope, Pete suddenly ran over, pointed ahead, breathlessly saying to Mu Beiting, ”President, I just checked the surveillance footage and found that after the lady left the Gu Group, she headed forward, then turned at two intersections, and then disappeared, never to be seen again!”

Mu Beiting glanced in the direction Pete pointed and walked over without turning back, instructing as he went, ”Have everyone search over there, especially around the intersection where the lady disappeared!”

”Yes!” Pete nodded, then took out a walkie-talkie to issue the orders!

Before long, everyone had rushed to the intersection where Ye Anxin disappeared! As it was getting dark, each person held a flashlight, carefully searching through the wind and snow!

As time passed, their initial excitement gradually turned into despair.

Just as Mu Beiting was about to despair, Pete suddenly rushed over, urgently saying, ”President, there’s a clue! Someone found a bag in the flower bed up ahead, which is very likely what the lady left behind!”

”Take me there!” Upon hearing this, Mu Beiting’s expression changed instantly, and he hurried after Pete towards the flower bed.

Just upon reaching the flower bed, he spotted one of his subordinates holding a light blue shoulder bag! With just one glance, Mu Beiting was certain the bag belonged to Ye Anxin, and its zipper was open, not closed!

Without a word, Mu Beiting took the bag from the subordinate, and Pete quickly used a flashlight to illuminate it for Mu Beiting!

Mu Beiting lowered his head, rummaging through the bag to see if anything was missing!

Everything was there: the phone, wallet, and a CD that Mu Beiting had never seen before!

The subordinate who found the bag spoke, ”I found this bag in the middle of the flower bed, under thick snow! Thankfully, it snowed heavily today, and there were few people on the road, so the bag wasn’t picked up by anyone else!”

Mu Beiting said coldly, ”Inspect the flower bed again, carefully check for anything else that might be left behind!”

”Yes!” The surrounding subordinates took the order, swept the snow off the flower bed, and thoroughly searched it. But nothing else was found, only some small pieces of jewelry that had fallen out of the bag!

Calmly analyzing the situation, Pete said, ”President, the lady is probably in danger now! When we earlier checked the surveillance, the last place the lady appeared was right here! I suspect that whoever kidnapped the lady knew about the surveillance cameras nearby, so they deliberately avoided them when taking her, which is why I didn’t see her final movements on the footage!”

Upon hearing this, a chill flashed in Mu Beiting’s eyes, his expression turning extremely grim!

At that moment, Pete’s phone in his pocket rang. He glanced at Mu Beiting, pulled out his phone, checked the caller ID, then answered and placed it to his ear. After hearing the words from the other end, his expression darkened, and he nodded, ”I understand, bring her to the president’s office!” then hung up the phone.

After hanging up, before Mu Beiting could ask, he directly said, ”President, Li Lin has been found! She was about to catch a train to escape, but our people intercepted her halfway! I’ve now instructed them to bring Li Lin to the president’s office for questioning!”

”Back to the company! Tell them to stop searching!” Mu Beiting tightly gripped Ye Anxin’s bag in his hand, leaving without looking back.
