High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 323: Chapter 323: The Strength of an SS-level Genius

”Japan is a fascinating country!”

”They deeply revere the Sword Dao. Over 90% of all Martial Artists in the entire country use swords as their Weapon.”

”All of their Ninth Realm Martial Artists use swords. They even have a separate name for the Ninth Realm, calling it the Sword Saint Realm,” Jiangtao said from the side.

”As an SS-level genius, it’s only natural for Miyamoto Genichiro to use a sword.”

”And their fighting styles are all very similar and one-dimensional, but this allows them to take an unorthodox path, resulting in extremely powerful combat strength.”

Zhou Xiyin, who also practiced the sword, spoke up as well.

Lin Qi nodded, his gaze fixed on Miyamoto Genichiro in the arena.

His opponent was a lean competitor from Tianzhu Country who wielded a Long Spear.

The moment the match began, he launched a fierce assault, charging forward with a sharp thrust of his spear. His style was also one of swiftness, like the wind.

But Miyamoto Genichiro remained unmoved in the face of the raging gale, his expression calm.

Just as the spear was about to strike him.

He suddenly opened his eyes and finally swung his sword—it was just a simple, straight thrust!

WHOOSH~

The sharp Longsword instantly pierced the air.

PFFT~

Faster than anyone could react, it penetrated his opponent’s neck.

”This...?”

The opponent collapsed and died in disbelief!

”So fast!!” Jiangtao’s eyes widened as he exclaimed in shock.

”I only saw the shadow of a sword, and the fight was already over!” Guan Mountain’s expression was grave.

The speed of that strike was so extreme that they couldn’t even react.

The difference in strength between them was too vast; they weren’t on the same level at all!

Lin Qi’s expression also became extremely grave. Miyamoto Genichiro’s ordinary sword strike was blindingly fast.

Although he had seen it clearly, he couldn’t guarantee his body could have dodged it.

That strike was a perfect combination of Swordsmanship, Body Technique, and physical conditioning.

’There’s still so much more I need to improve!’

Lin Qi felt a sliver of pressure. If he couldn’t even defeat Miyamoto Genichiro without using his Little Divine Power, how could he possibly aim for the championship?

...

At the same time, countless geniuses were also watching Miyamoto Genichiro, the SS-level genius from Japan.

From that single, simple strike, they could discern countless insights.

”Japan’s Sword Dao really is something,” Pei Jiu praised.

”Indeed. That was speed pushed to its absolute limit. Taking an unorthodox path can also bring forth immense power,” Yu Zhuoran also said slowly.

...

Lin Qi continued to watch the matches.

One after another, he saw many Awakened geniuses in battle.

The Red Realm’s backend system wasn’t entirely random. For example, it was impossible for it to match Awakened geniuses against each other in the same fight.

These Awakened geniuses displayed a completely different level of combat.

Cases of them one-shotting their opponents were everywhere, shocking countless spectators.

”During the National Freshman Tournament, Han Zhen and Tan Pei’er were already impressive enough, crushing everyone in their path.”

”Now it’s not just one or two of them, but a full 230. The other competitors aren’t on the same level at all.”

”We can only hope we don’t get matched with them in the early rounds,” Jiangtao lamented.

Lin Qi nodded. These 230 competitors were the main characters; everyone else was just part of the supporting cast.

A moment later, he saw another SS-level genius make his move. It was Savitri from Tianzhu Country, an innate Tianzhu Noble.

He had a straight, tall posture and exuded a unique, inborn noble air. The Weapon he used was a Battle Saber.

In the arena, after the fight began,

he simply swung the golden Battle Saber in his hand. A red glow covered the blade, and a scorching heat rose from it, erupting with terrifying power to instantly kill his opponent.

Lin Qi could see that his Saber Technique Realm had, at the very least, broken through to Tier Three Mid-stage.

Savitri returned to the spectator stands. With his handsome, chiseled features, he tilted his head back, looking down on everyone around him and in the arena.

”The championship of this Global Freshman Tournament is mine.”

”I will become the first person in the history of Tianzhu to win the championship!!”

After this confident declaration, he also chose to log off.

Not far away, a lean man with ordinary features clenched his fists, his expression resolute.

’Savitri, I won’t lose to you again this time!’

...

The first round of the main tournament was still underway.

Lin Qi watched several more matches, paying special attention to the competitors from the Western Region.

Among them were many white and black people, and he had to admit that they held a certain advantage when it came to physical Talent.

Most of these competitors possessed greater strength and speed.

However, in terms of flexibility and Body Technique, they weren’t as agile as the competitors from the Eastern Region.

Their styles were mostly wide, sweeping, and forceful, a head-on, rampaging approach.

Even their Martial Arts followed the same style, and their Realms were often even a bit lower.

Before long, his gaze locked onto one of the arenas.

Watching along with him were Kong Ruoxuan, the SS-level genius from Nether Sea Martial Academy, and Wang Mingxi, the SS-level genius from Shanyu Martial Arts University.

They were all focused on Yu Zhuoran’s match, wanting to gather more information.

The various SS-level geniuses rarely participated in competitions, so there was very little information on them, let alone video footage.

The strongest genius from their Azure Sky Martial Arts Academy’s Tenth Institute, the SS-level Yu Zhuoran, had appeared. He wore a purple Combat Suit and wielded a sharp, Silver Battle Saber that resembled a Yanling Saber.

His opponent was a black woman, over 1.9 meters tall with a streamlined physique, who also used a Battle Saber.

[Match Start!]

SHIIING~

The moment the automated voice faded, light burst from Yu Zhuoran’s eyes, and he instantly transformed into a streak of purple Lightning, vanishing from his spot.

The Silver Battle Saber in his hand slashed through the air as his opponent swung her own Battle Saber to resist.

BANG!!

The two collided violently. Yu Zhuoran came to a steady stop, but the female black competitor was sent flying like a cannonball.

She rolled an unknown number of times on the ground before dissipating into the Void.

Yu Zhuoran calmly dissipated and returned to the spectator stands.

’So strong!’

Lin Qi was inwardly astonished. Yu Zhuoran’s performance was one of pure domination, a perfect combination of power and speed.

He was incredibly well-balanced, with no weaknesses.

He was in no way inferior to Japan’s Miyamoto Genichiro.

In the stands for Japan, the handsome, SS-level genius Miyamoto Genichiro wore a grave expression:

”He is an extremely powerful opponent!”

”His speed is impeccable!”

In the White Eagle Federation’s spectator stands, a tall man with blond hair, blue eyes, and handsome, sharply defined features smiled:

”Yu Zhuoran of Xia Country... his Special Ability is quite powerful.”

”His Martial Arts strength is also formidable. If I want to win the championship, he will be my strongest opponent!”

”Even stronger than Victor from the Bear Country!”

...

In the Bear Country’s spectator stands, a burly, heavily-built man with a black beard watched Yu Zhuoran in silence.

He just silently tightened his grip on the armrest of his smart chair.

...

After watching Yu Zhuoran’s battle, Lin Qi chose to log off and invest his time in training.

SS-level geniuses... a single glimpse reveals the whole picture.

You could tell a great deal from a simple move.

His current strength wasn’t yet at a level where he could confidently overwhelm everyone.

So, he needed to become stronger.

Thinking of this, he packed his things and headed out to the Gravity Room.

He was going to raise his Qi and Blood Value and Martial Arts further.

...

「Time slowly advanced to April 28th」

In the Red Realm’s spectator stands for the global main tournament, a projection of Xu Wenji appeared, dressed in a Red Robe. He announced in a loud voice:

”Spectators and competitors!”

”After a day of fierce competition, the list of the 1,000 competitors for the second round has been finalized.”

With a raise of his hand, 1,000 names appeared on a large red screen. The names in white font were competitors from the Eastern Region, while those in black font were from the Western Region.

Many people could see that more competitors had advanced from the Western Region.

”The Western Region’s overall strength is greater than the Eastern Region’s.”

”That’s because the White Eagle Federation and the Bear Country are both in the Western Region. Even so, they’re only slightly stronger than the Eastern Region.”

”It’s all thanks to the Martial Artists of Xia Country holding the line!”

A wave of discussion broke out in the spectator stands.

Lin Qi heard the discussion. Looking at the list of 1,000 people, he saw that their Xia Country only accounted for just over 100 of them.

Every person who made it to the second round would be considered a top-tier genius at Azure Sky Martial Arts Academy.

Even from their Sixth Institute, the only ones left were Jiangtao, Guo Heng, Guan Mountain, Wang Qiufeng, Zhou Xiyin, Li Zhou, and Yu Jing.

”Competitors, today we will be holding the second round of the main tournament.”

”Of the 1,000 competitors, only 500 will be able to advance to the third round. Even if you fail, all competitors will receive a reward of 20 million Xia Country Coins.”

”At the same time, if you advance to the third round, you will receive 30 million Xia Country Coins.”

Many people couldn’t help but nod. The prize money was truly generous, increasing by ten million at a time.

Lin Qi was shocked. He had only received twenty million for winning the Azure Sky Martial Arts Academy’s freshman tournament.

The championship prize for the National Freshman Tournament was only a little over thirty million Xia Country Coins.

But now, just reaching the third round would earn him thirty million Xia Country Coins.

If he kept fighting his way to the finals, the prize money would exceed one hundred million.

Thinking of this, he clenched his fists. ’The championship, I will definitely win it.’

”Next, let’s begin the second round!”

As soon as Xu Wenji finished speaking, he waved his hand, and the Tai Chi Diagram reappeared, spinning rapidly.

It finally transformed into countless black and white characters, which converged to form a brand-new red scroll.

A new match-up chart appeared before everyone’s eyes.

Tens of millions of pairs of eyes locked onto the chart.

Lin Qi was also searching for his opponent.

[Match 12: Lin Qi (Xia Country) VS Wims (White Eagle Federation)]

...

’Who is this Wims?’ Lin Qi wondered.

He had spent the last few days just memorizing the information on the 230 Awakened geniuses and hadn’t looked at the data for any other competitors at all.

But since he was a competitor from the White Eagle Federation, his strength was definitely not to be underestimated.

’Maybe he’ll be a pleasant surprise.’

”Brother Qi, Wims is the number one Unawakened genius among the freshmen from the White Eagle Federation!” Jiangtao said from the side.

Lin Qi came to a sudden realization, then said, ”Then he’s really unlucky!”

The others nodded as well. The Global Freshman Tournament had no revival matches; a loss meant you were truly eliminated.

At this moment, in the White Eagle Federation’s spectator stands,

Wims, a burly black man with dark skin, broke into a smile:

”So, Lin Qi... looks like the genius from Xia Country I was waiting for has finally shown up.”

”I’d like to see for myself just how strong a Xia Country genius can be!”

A black man next to him said, ”Wims, this genius named Lin Qi seems to be the strongest among Xia Country’s freshmen.”

”He’s your counterpart.”

Hearing this, Wims laughed instead. ”Even better!”

”Among the Unawakened geniuses, as long as I defeat him, I can prove that I am the strongest.”

”That’s right, Wims! Defeat him and let all the students of the White Eagle Federation witness your strength.”

The black man next to him added with a supportive smile.

As for Lin Qi’s information, Wims hadn’t looked at it at all, because he didn’t need to.
