High Martial Arts: Grinding for the Supreme Talent

Chapter 311: Chapter 311: The Second Killing Technique

Lin Qi briefly recounted his experiences in the Otherworld, such as his living arrangements and his Cultivation in the Disaster Beast Pyramid.

He also mentioned his duel with Xiang Long.

Everyone listened, captivated, their desire to go to the Otherworld and cultivate Source Energy Skills growing ever stronger.

”After the Global Freshman Competition, I’ll be able to break through to the Fourth Realm. Then I’ll go to the Otherworld to cultivate too,” Jiangtao said, clenching his fists.

Lin Qi nodded. He could clearly sense that Jiangtao’s Qi and Blood Value was flourishing. He had made great progress, his value already exceeding 95.

He would be able to break through to the Fourth Realm after the Global Freshman Competition as well.

The other Deans, like Ao Feng and Duan Chuchu, probably had similar Qi and Blood Values.

”The Global Freshman Competition starts in three days. We’ll be fighting against geniuses from other countries this time!” Guan Mountain suddenly realized.

Everyone was incredibly excited. They had all grown up in their respective provinces and, due to the Calamity Beast invasions, had never been abroad.

Let alone met geniuses from other countries.

And it wasn’t just one other country, but all the nations of Blue Star. It would be a gathering of geniuses, another round of fierce battles.

Only the most supreme genius would be able to claim the final championship.

...

Half an hour later, everyone had left, and only the intelligent robot remained in the living room, cleaning up.

Lin Qi returned to his Martial Arts Room and opened his luggage. Compared to when he had left for the Otherworld, many things were now missing.

Many of his Cultivation Resources, like the Spiritual Potions and Bone Tempering Liquid, had been completely used up.

He changed into a black Martial Arts Uniform and sat cross-legged, feeling a sense of ease wash over his entire body.

It was as if a massive lead weight had been lifted from him. Without the 3x gravity, he felt like he was floating on air as he walked, a completely different sensation from when he left the Gravity Room.

He released his Spiritual Power. In his Perception, the surrounding Source Energy, which appeared as specks of light, seemed abundant.

But it was far less than in the Otherworld.

The feeling was quite uncomfortable. He knew it was a withdrawal symptom; he needed to re-acclimate to Blue Star’s environment.

’I can only hope that I Awaken a Special Ability after the Global Freshman Competition and increase the Source Energy Concentration in the Martial Arts Room.’

Lin Qi thought to himself. His next goals were to master his second Killing Technique and win the Global Freshman Competition!

...

「That afternoon, in a Martial Arts Room on the top floor of the Cangjing Building at the Azure Sky Sixth Institute」

”Teacher, Little Junior Brother, you’re finally back!”

The scholarly-looking Li Qing enthusiastically hugged Lin Qi.

”Welcome back, Little Junior Brother!” Senior Sister Wang Zixuan also said with a smile.

Mu Hong, dressed in black, looked at the three and said:

”On this trip to the Otherworld, I successfully broke through to the Eighth Realm.”

”Congratulations on your breakthrough, Teacher!”

Li Qing was instantly thrilled to hear the news.

”Now that I’m back, I have time to guide your Cultivation. What questions do you have?” Mu Hong asked with a smile.

Following that, Wang Zixuan and Li Qing each asked their own questions, while Lin Qi listened from the side.

He could now gradually discern the Realms of Wang Zixuan and his Senior Brother Li Qing. Like him, neither had yet broken through to the Fourth-stage Spear Technique.

「An hour later」

”Lin Qi, do you have any questions?” Mu Hong asked.

Seeing his chance, Lin Qi voiced his own problem. ”I’m only a step away from Tier Three Mid-stage, but I feel stuck.”

”Little Junior Brother, you’re about to break through to Tier Three Mid-stage?” Li Qing was stunned.

”I only broke through to Tier Three Mid-stage myself not long ago!”

’Am I going to be surpassed by Little Junior Brother so soon?’

Wang Zixuan was also surprised. Her Spear Technique was only at Tier Three Perfection. She suspected it wouldn’t be long before Lin Qi surpassed her, too.

Mu Hong was not surprised. Instead, he explained:

”Don’t be impatient. Tier Three Mid-stage involves the fusion of Source Energy and Power, which requires a more refined control method.”

”Your progress has been too rapid since your Qi and Blood Value reached the Mid-stage of the Fourth Realm. Your Power is too immense, which makes it more difficult. Polish it carefully, and the breakthrough will come naturally.”

Beside them, Li Qing was so stunned he was speechless.

He had only broken through to the Mid-stage of the Fourth Realm himself not long ago, yet Lin Qi was now almost at the same level.

He suspected that in a few more days, he wouldn’t be able to beat Lin Qi even if he went all out.

No, he couldn’t beat him now. Lin Qi had a Little Divine Power.

This feeling of being suddenly surpassed left him in a daze. Lin Qi’s rate of progress was just too fast.

It didn’t even give him time to process it.

”I understand. Thank you for your guidance, Teacher!” Lin Qi said with a grateful nod.

Mu Hong nodded. ”I’ll be leaving the academy in two days. If you have any more questions, ask me quickly within these two days.”

...

A short while later, Lin Qi returned to his Martial Arts Room and took out his black training great spear.

He looked at the data on his status panel:

[Spear Technique: Tier Three 59%]

[Body Technique: Tier Three 40%]

...

This was his current Martial Arts level. Just as he’d said, his Spear Technique was on the verge of breaking through to Tier Three Mid-stage.

He felt his control over his Power was still lacking.

’The 3x gravity of the Otherworld still wasn’t quite enough.’

’I need even greater pressure to unearth my body’s true potential.’

Lin Qi thought of his Gravity Room. He hadn’t used it yet in April.

With the Gravity Room, under extreme gravity, he would have an easier time mastering his second Killing Technique.

’I’ll break through in the next two days!’

Lin Qi set his goal: his Spear Technique had to break through before the global competition!

...

「Tenth Academy」

「Inside a luxurious villa」

Wan Ming was lying on a soft bed. After a month of Cultivation in the Otherworld, he felt mentally and physically exhausted.

’I’ll rest for two days. A good balance of work and rest is the key to greater progress.’

He thought to himself.

...

「In the Martial Arts Room of another villa」

Yu Zhuoran, dressed in a white Martial Arts Uniform, sat cross-legged. A terrifying aura pulsed around him, growing stronger and weaker as large amounts of Source Energy from the surrounding air were continuously absorbed.

His physical body began to transform, tempering his bones at the same time.

A moment later, he snapped his eyes open, unleashing a fierce and powerful aura like a peal of thunder.

He slowly rose to his feet, a satisfied smile spreading across his face as he felt the endless strength welling up inside his body.

’My Qi and Blood Value is at the Mid-stage of the Fourth Realm, and my Martial Arts have broken through to Tier Three Mid-stage.’

’I will be the champion of this Global Freshman Competition.’

He thought confidently. He had always been extremely self-assured, which had smoothed his path in Martial Arts.

For some reason, he suddenly thought of Lin Qi.

’I can’t let my guard down. Lin Qi is a formidable opponent. He must be training right now.’

At this thought, he stood up, took the Silver Battle Saber from the wall, and began to practice his swings.

”BZZT~”

Silver patterns emerged on the surface of his skin, wreathed in electric currents that made the air tremble.

...

「That evening, inside the Gravity Ball」

The door to Gravity Room 310 opened, and Lin Qi’s tall figure walked in.

He changed into a Martial Arts Uniform and removed his Gravity Ring.

”CRACK! CRACK!”

He stretched his body, his joints popping until he felt limber and ready.

”Little Chan, activate 10x extreme gravity!”

Lin Qi brandished the black metallic great spear. Before going to the Otherworld, his limit had been 8x gravity.

Now, his physical fitness had improved by leaps and bounds; he had even lived in a 3x gravity environment for a month.

To unearth his body’s potential, he needed even higher gravity.

”Yes, Master!”

”BEEP!”

On the large screen, the gravity mode activated, and the number instantly jumped to ”10.”

”VMMMM!!”

It was as if a massive amount of water suddenly flooded the Gravity Room, pressing down on every corner of Lin Qi’s body.

”BANG!”

The training great spear slammed onto the ground. Lin Qi gripped the Long Spear as a wave of discomfort washed over him.

His body became abnormally heavy, far beyond what the 3x gravity of the Otherworld could compare to. Breathing became difficult, and he could feel his internal organs being suppressed.

He instinctively began to fight against the omnipresent gravity.

His cells went into overdrive, and his Energy began to be consumed at a frantic rate from that very moment.

’This is the feeling!’

Though his face was pale, Lin Qi’s eyes were bright. This was the sensation he needed—the extreme state of his body under intense pressure.

After fully adapting to 3x gravity in the Otherworld, he could no longer reach this extreme state.

His spear practice always felt like it was missing something.

He exhaled, quickly adjusted, and picked up the black training great spear.

Under 10x gravity, his black training great spear now weighed an astonishing 1,000 kilograms.

A casual swing could shatter a boulder.

”VMMM!”

Lin Qi exerted his strength. His body vibrated as he fused his Power and Source Energy, injecting the mixture into the spear’s shaft like a Spiritual Snake.

It let out a thunderous hum.

”WHOOSH! WHOOSH~”

He didn’t rush to practice the Mountain Shaking Spear Technique, but instead began with the Basic Spear Skill.

At 10x gravity, the Flow of Power within his body became clearly visible, and Lin Qi could feel its every movement.

He needed to develop stronger control.

This was about a deep fusion of Source Energy and Power, not just enveloping them together like a current of water as he did before.

After fusion, the Power gained a medium and its own Attribute.

The difficulty of controlling it increased dramatically as well.

But once he improved and mastered the second Killing Technique, the destructive force of his Techniques would also increase.

The three great Killing Techniques each represented an increase of an entire stage.

The might of the Spear Technique also grew with each successive technique.

”Huuuh~”

After cultivating for just half an hour, Lin Qi already felt his body growing tired. Normally, he could train in his Martial Arts Room for three hours without even breathing hard.

But under extreme gravity, he felt fatigued after only thirty minutes.

His arms began to tremble. The 1,000-kilogram Black Great Spear tore through the air, stirring up fierce gales.

Heavy. Besides heavy, it was still heavy!

Everything became heavy. Lin Qi felt his control over his Power become heavy as well.

But in his mind’s eye, his control over his Power was growing smoother, improving bit by bit.

He could feel this change. He was breaking through, one small step at a time.

Lin Qi continued to practice the Mountain Shaking Spear Technique.

He executed the fifteen techniques in succession, his Power vibrating, condensing, and flowing.

He suddenly raised the great spear high, gathering his Power before bringing it down in a vicious slash.

”BOOM!!”

The spear tip landed a Heavy Slash upon the ground, leaving only a faint mark.

At the same time, the Flow of Power within his body finally underwent a qualitative change.

Now!

Lin Qi’s eyes lit up. Under the extreme gravity, his potential had been stimulated, and his mastery over exerting force had risen once again.

The method for cultivating the second Killing Technique resurfaced in his mind.
