”You’ll never be able to kill me.” Niko shrugs. ”Besides, I only did it to drag you out of your funk.”

”I didn’t need your help you yellow-eyed rapist!— ”

”Go easy on the allegations, please,” he holds his hands up in surrender, ”you’ll be thanking me when we land and you don’t feel depressed when you see the people you’ve been running from.”

Aiden’s tongue is still bleeding, and his hand stings from hitting Niko’s unyielding face, but he can’t help but feel a bit of bitter amusement.

”Who said I ran away because of them?”

Niko’s gaze zeros in on Orion’s wry smile. ”If you didn’t leave because of them, then why did— ”

”What’s making you scream now, duckling?” Orion saunters into the room, cutting the flow of their conversation.

Adrien tries to hide it, but they all see the way he shudders and hides any visible emotion at Orion’s entry.

”So? Why were you screaming?” He asks again, ignoring Adrien’s reaction in favor of sitting across from him.

”My room’s soundproofed but I could hear you howling from there.” He pours himself a glass of water with practiced ease.

”Because I kissed him.”

”Ah, you did?” A tiny crack spreads across the length of the glass.

”Yes, I did,” Niko grins, wide and playful, ”I won’t advise you to do the same because he bites.”

”You kissed him?” The question falls softly from his lips, a dare and a threat both rolled up in one.

Not understanding what is going on or where any of this is going, Aiden follows his instincts and starts inching away from the two men.

Away from the psychopath and the hunter.

”You’ve asked me this before, Orion,” Niko sighs, ”yes, I kissed him for fun. Do you actually have a problem with that?”

A moment of silence passes before Orion responds, and even then, his response isn’t anything any of them expects.

”No, I do not have a problem with that...” he murmurs, ”but I think duckling might have one.”

”Me?” Aiden sits up, startled at being at the center of the conversation.

”Yes...you.” He tries not to flinch at the weight of those unsettling dark eyes on him. ”Did you want to kiss him?”

”I’m...I...it’s fine...?” His gaze shifts nervously from Orion to Niko, panic slowly twisting his features.

”It is? So, you wouldn’t get mad if I kissed you again?” Niko asks, knowingly cutting Orion off before he could respond.

”I’ll kill you if you touch me again.” Aiden snaps reflexively, then he remembers what happened the last time he threatened to kill someone in Orion’s presence.

A trickle of cold sweat drips down his spine.

”Then don’t touch him again, Niko.” Orion orders as he gently picks the cracked glass, watching the water swirl over the rim.

”If you do it again...” he doesn’t need to finish his sentence, because Niko understands what he means perfectly.

If you do it again, you’ll die.

”Where’s the black diamond set?!” Louise yells angrily.

The maids, frantically scurrying around, trying to find the jewelry set in question, only serve to irritate her further.

”Forgive me, but I believe the set has been temporarily misplaced, Miss.” The aged head maid lowers her head in apology.

”Though, I do believe the red diamond set would complement your dress better— ”

”You believe?” The temperature in the room drops as Louise takes a slow step forward. ”You stand there, dressed in clothes that I pay for...healthy, because I feed you...and you dare to disappoint me because of a belief?”

”I apologize for my incompetence, Miss.” She bows even lower— in hopes of placating her mistress.

”No, you are not just incompetent!” Louise crosses the gap between them in a few angry steps. ”You are absolutely useless and worthless to me!”

”That diamond set is the only gift I have gotten from Orion! And that was only because I lowered myself to the level of you paupers to beg for it!” Her palm meets the head maid’s cheek with a loud smack.

”I apologize, Miss.”

”I was going to see if I could tempt him by wearing it to the old hag’s birthday party! And now you’ve ruined my plans, you pig!”

The other maids watch as Louise’s palm meets the head maid’s cheek four more times.

Breathing heavily, Louise takes a step back from her victim. ”Yes, I might have broken our relationship, but who says I can’t still have him? Why can’t I have him and Leon?”

Her eyes gleam with a hungry flame. ”We dated for almost ten years, there’s no way he would let me go just like that...”

”Even if he doesn’t love me, he still kept me close...such a relationship cannot end! And it definitely cannot be replaced.” She snorts.

”But you’ve ruined my one chance at getting his attention again! Going to the birthday without that jewelry set is like walking around naked!”

”...Like walking around naked...” She murmurs to herself again.

Then she smiles— the kind of smile that makes all the maids in the room hold back a collective shiver.

Louise waves to the maids to get her a chair— Two maids bring it over.

After setting it right in front of the head maid, one maid moves to the side, while the other settles down on all fours at the foot of the chair.

Louse takes her seat and crosses her legs on the back of the crouching maid, using her as a footstool.

”You said you’re sorry, right?” She asks the head maid, tone dripping with fake sweetness.

”Yes, I am, Miss.” She responds...predictably.

”Your mistress is going to feel naked walking around without what she needs tomorrow, what do you think about that?” She asks, tone heavy with something cruel.

”I will do my best to find it before— ”

”No.” Louise cuts her off with a wag of her finger. ”Your best is useless to me. The best you could do is to join your mistress in this uncomfortable...situation.”

She leans forward, heels digging into the spine of the maid being used as her stool. ”Take off your clothes, pig.”

Refusing or arguing would be normal, but not when Louise is your mistress. She’s long since killed any spirit of dissent in her employees— or pigs as she calls most of them.

Even as she’s feeling the burn of humiliation, the old head maid wastes no time in obeying Louise’s commands. She pulls off her clothes and stands there, completely naked.

”Ugh...this is quite disgusting to look at...” Louise shudders. ”Well, no matter...this is your punishment.”

The aged head maid stands quietly as Louise lets her stew in shame for several minutes, and even if they want to, the other maids dare not look away from the scene.

It’s humiliating and disgusting— but it’s not the worst Louise has done.

”You’ll be like this till I return from the event tomorrow,” her smile sharpens, ”you’ll go around fulfilling all your responsibilities naked...like a pig.”

The head maid’s fingers curl into a tight fist at her sides, yet she responds respectfully to her mistress.

”Yes, Miss.”

Louise lets her stand in that position for a few more minutes before standing up from her seat and using the maid kneeling as a step down.

”Now, how about you show me that red set, and do your best to make me want to wear it...or you’ll all be naked till I get back.”
