Off to the side, Xiao Yan’s expression as he listened to the man’s report was a rather colorful sight at times joyful, at times frowning.

When he heard the middle-aged man mention that Lin Feng had already left the Black-Corner Region, his brows furrowed tightly.

The other party had already left the Black-Corner Region which meant he had no way of finding him now.

So even though he now knew that Lin Feng possessed the Green Lotus Core Flame, there was nothing he could do but stare helplessly.

However, when he finished hearing about what had happened at Jia Nan Academy, Xiao Yan’s face was full of shock.

He hadn’t expected that after he stole the Fallen Heart Flame, the other party had actually managed to acquire another one.

But then he thought of the benefits he himself had gained after devouring that Fallen Heart Flame and a burning heat instantly surged up in his pitch-black eyes.

Although he didn’t know how the other party had gotten hold of another Heavenly Flame, this news was clearly extremely favorable to him!

Ever since he successfully devoured that Heavenly Flame, not only had his cultivation technique evolved to Low-Grade Earth Class, but his strength had also skyrocketed from Nine-Star Dou Wang straight to Dou Huang.

On top of that, over this period of time, Feng Zun Zhe had helped him find several Rank 8 beast flames.

Though devouring those beast flames hadn’t significantly improved the rank of his Flame Mantra, his Dou Qi level had already risen dramatically to Three-Star Dou Huang.

If he could seize that other Heavenly Flame from Jia Nan Academy, then his strength would surely soar once again!

However, noticing that the man hadn’t mentioned anything about his two older brothers, Xiao Yan’s brow furrowed slightly.

Then he asked urgently toward the middle-aged man: ”Elder Mo, did you at least look for my two older brothers?”

”Ah… Young Pavilion Master, I hope you won’t blame us. We really did our best…”

Hearing his question, the old man addressed as Elder Mo gave a bitter smile and replied helplessly.

Those words made Xiao Yan’s heart sink violently, and his expression instantly froze.

Huff…

Xiao Yan immediately took a deep breath, his voice trembling slightly as he demanded: ”Elder Mo… what exactly happened?”

Elder Mo cupped his fists slightly and continued: ”We followed your instructions and went to that city in the Jia Ma Empire. But… we discovered that your two brothers had already disappeared without a trace.”

”What?!”

At those words, Xiao Yan suddenly erupted, shouting angrily: ”When I left, I left behind plenty of safeguards for my two brothers! In that small city where even a Dou Ling could reign supreme, who could possibly touch them?!”

Seeing his furious appearance, Elder Mo let out another bitter laugh and said: ”We learned that one of the Hall of Souls’ Protectors had previously orchestrated several large-scale wars in the surrounding empires.

You know, Young Pavilion Master… those Protectors of the Hall of Souls… they scour the land in search of souls. Perhaps to speed things up, they launched massacres in those empires. It seems… your two brothers may have been among the victims…”

”Bastards…! Those damned dogs of the Hall of Souls… couldn’t find me, so they took it out on my two brothers?!”

Hearing this, Xiao Yan clenched his teeth so hard it seemed they might shatter. At this moment, he was like a volcano on the verge of eruption.

Because the Hall of Souls had already slaughtered the Xiao Clan and abducted his master in the past, he didn’t doubt the truth of this message much.

The thought that his two older brothers might have already met with misfortune made Xiao Yan’s eyes instantly bloodshot.

He bellowed furiously: ”Hall of Souls! You took my father and my master, and now you’ve killed my two brothers! One day, I, Xiao Yan, will come knocking and settle this debt with you to the very end!”

At the same time, a violent wave of air suddenly erupted from him, spreading outward in all directions with him at the center.

The violent airflow swept through the spacious Falling Star Pavilion hall, throwing everything into chaos.

The people Xiao Yan cared about most were his direct relatives and his master.

Now, they had all either been captured or killed by the Hall of Souls how could he possibly keep his anger in check?!

Even Feng Zun Zhe frowned deeply upon hearing this news.

Seeing Xiao Yan’s condition, Elder Mo immediately tried to console him:

”Young Pavilion Master, please don’t be too anxious. This is only speculation. Perhaps… your two brothers were merely captured by the Hall of Souls and aren’t in mortal danger yet.”

Huff… huff…

Hearing that, Xiao Yan took several deep breaths, forcefully suppressing the restlessness in his heart.

After arriving in the Central Plains, that pest Gu He had still doggedly pursued him.

Annoyed, he’d directly used the God Seal Technique to seriously injure him.

After the man fled, Xiao Yan had spent over seven more months traveling before finally arriving at Falling Star Pavilion.

The experiences along the way gave him a newfound understanding of just how powerful the Hall of Souls truly was.

This force that coveted the Tuo She Ancient God Jade in his hands was far from as simple as he had imagined.

Remembering Xun’er’s advice, Xiao Yan gritted his teeth and decided to put these matters aside for now.

With his current strength as a Three-Star Dou Huang, if he rashly barged into the Hall of Souls to rescue anyone, he might end up losing his own life before saving anyone else.

When Xun’er had visited Falling Star Pavilion, she’d said that once she returned to her clan, she would send people to help him search for Heavenly Flames.

And Xiao Yan wasn’t the kind of stubborn fool who would refuse help.

So, after a moment’s hesitation, he accepted his girlfriend’s help without complaint.

If Xun’er could help him find a few Heavenly Flames and then he relied on his own alchemy skill to place in the top ten of the Pill Gathering and claim the Three Thousand Burning Flame… then after devouring it, his strength would reach a terrifying level.

At that point, he’d be much more confident about rescuing his teacher and relatives from the Hall of Souls.

Having planned his route for the next stretch of time, Xiao Yan turned toward Feng Zun Zhe, cupped his hands, and said: ”Elder Feng, I’d like to go into seclusion to attempt breaking through to seventh-tier alchemist. As for the matter of Heavenly Flames, I’ll have to trouble you to continue investigating.”

”No problem. Just focus on your alchemy. If you need any medicinal ingredients, don’t hesitate to tell me. As for Heavenly Flames, I’ll send people out to search.

But… as for that Heavenly Flame at Jia Nan Academy, it’s better not to set your sights on it for now. Though their Headmaster hasn’t returned for decades, he’s still a Dou Zun-level expert. Even I don’t know his exact situation. So it’s best to be cautious.”

Feng Zun Zhe knew very well that Xiao Yan was participating in the Pill Gathering for the sake of the Three Thousand Burning Flame, so naturally he gave him his full support.

After pondering for a moment, Feng Zun Zhe added: ”Once you reach seventh-tier alchemist, you’ll officially be among the ranks of high-grade alchemists.

When that time comes, I’ll personally take you to the Pill Tower. The three heads of the Pill Tower are old friends of your master’s. They should be able to offer you considerable help.”

Hearing this, Xiao Yan’s face lit up with joy, and he cupped his hands with a smile: ”Many thanks, Elder Feng.”

After spending so long in the Central Plains, he had, of course, heard of the famed Pill Tower.

All the elders in the Pill Tower were seventh-tier alchemists.

And the three heads of the Pill Tower were likely already eighth-tier alchemists, just like his teacher.

If he could obtain their help, then his chances of rescuing his teacher and family would rise greatly.

With that thought, he immediately turned and quickly left, heading toward the alchemy room.
